I watched a couple of youtubers last week about it - both commented on the need for decent BT, and whether you have access to good enough built in or a dongle is going to be a gamble, but neither had any other issues. Once the BT was sorted they were both positive about the overall experience.

I didn't have the chance to test mine yet, but the feeling I get is that Sony fucked up by not including (tested) BT connectivity in the box as well for a small increase in price. Whether it was technically possible to include it in the adapter I'm not sure, but if it were, Sony could certainly source the necessary materials according to their specification and offer a superior solution...

Just setting mine up. Did run into an issue with the controllers. The left one would connect and then instantly disconnect. Managed to get that working by only having one connected at a time and going through the firmware update on the Playstation VR 2 app. Now they both stay connected at the same time.
Just using my onboard Bluetooth receiver, so have to wait to see whether it works ok when actually playing.
After the connect headphones screen though, I get a screen saying to put my headset and controllers in an easy to reach place and the continue button is greyed out. Don't seem to be able to proceed beyond this. See some people saying uninstalling and reinstalling Steam VR solves this, so giving that a go now. Certainly not a pain free, plugin and go setup, but hopefully almost there.
Edit - and that seems to have got it to work (or it was the reboot). All sorted and had a round of Walkabout Minigolf. Working well and definitely an improvement on my Vive. Very bright and crisp image. Not seeing the pixels at all, which was always a big issue I had with the Vive. FOV is also quite a bit nicer. Still a little bit of black at the periphery, but not the goggle like effect I had with the Vive and only really noticeable if I try to look for it.
Controllers were working well. I was getting a little bit of drifting towards the end of playing, but I think that was more because the battery was at the end of its charge. No issues with it disconnecting, so hopefully means I'm all good with my onboard Bluetooth. Bit of a shame that it sounds like it is a right faff to get my Index controllers working with this (you have to use some dongle to connect them separately, as they only work normally with a headset that uses the lighthouses). Probably no point in keeping those.
Did find it a little awkward getting the positioning right. Got it good eventually, but it wasn't the most comfortable.

I like their accept it or fuck off stance.
Glad that I never invested any serious time in it. Points expiring after a month is just plain daft!

I have no idea what this PS Stars scheme is or if it is actually available in my country (I understand it's some kind of rewards system), so either I'm an ignorant old fool (quite possible at my age) or Sony's communication skills are not that great...

So I will lose my ability to add digital collectibles from the PS Stars store to my account if I don't redeem them soon?
Oh. Well.

You get points for everything you buy in the store, and you can then spend those points on some "digital collectibles" (tat), select games or in-game items (these cycle), or convert them to wallet funds (1,250 points = £5). With this change the points expire after 13 months instead of 25 months, and you no longer receive points for subs.

Thank you Derbs! I will look into it now to check if it applies to Greek PSN Essential (or how the lowest 1st tier is called) subscribers like me; who knows I may have unknown funds available (doubt it)
EDIT: Apparently, you have to manually sign-up for this (and I haven't) so nothing of value was lost for me...

I don't think it's based on tiers, it's a separate sign-up (though may not be available in all regions).

My PS5 has recently started playing up with the display dropping out to a black screen intermittently for anything from 5 to 30 seconds. What's puzzling me is it only ever does it in the first 10 to 20 mins after starting up, doesn't happen again after that. It goes to black screen 3 or 4 times. Occasionally seeing flashing thin green horzitonal lines too, a few pixels thick, only in the first 15 mins as well but that's less often.
I've reseated the HDMI at both ends and ruled out the monitor going on the fritz - only the PS5 is doing it and connecting to a different HDMI port on the monitor doesn't help.
HDMI cable picking up interference maybe? though nothing in the room set-up has changed in years.
Try changing the HDMI cable? haven't tried that yet as it's going to be a faff, all the cabling is neatly routed and bundled underneath and behind the desk.
what's weird is why it only happens in the first 20 mins after start-up which is making me wonder if it's the PS5 itself.

www.eurogamer.net/playstation-5-pro-design-reportedly-leaksA few things, so it's surprise, surprise called the ps5 Pro, looks like a slightly bigger and thicker Ps5. Interestingly it may release without a disc drive which is a choice I guess and most likely to keep the price down to something that isn't stupid.

Probably your cable. I had the same issue and I got one off Amazon that are quite well regarded and it's been fine since. Think they were zeskit ones.

Imagine how much bigger it'd need to be if it came with an optical drive - they'd need to put "CAUTION: HEAVY!" warning labels on the box to avoid getting sued.

Cable would be my guess too - get an HDMI Certified one and you should be golden.

Hopefully it's only slightly bigger than the slim model, not the og.
Ed: if they want to keep the existing disc drive optional then is has to follow a similar form factor.

If it doesn't have a built-in drive (which I totally understand price-wise) it makes it even easier for me to ignore, since I don't want to re-purchase my PS5 (and PS4 for that matter) disk-based games... Good move Sony

It's definitely gone from being 'will definitely order the moment pre-orders go live' to 'maybe not'. I am sure it won't end up being entirely digital and at the very least we will probably be able to buy the £99 drive that came out with the PS5 Slim but do I want to buy that along with a console that looks like it could be anywhere between £500 - £700 as it is? Meh, first world problems, as they say. I am still not convinced we need it and that everything has been fully utilised on the base PS5 though.

For me there's just nothing coming out to justify the purchase. It will be games I've already played and I don't think it's going to be a really transformative experience when games already play well and look really good.

It will be games I've already played and I don't think it's going to be a really transformative experience when games already play well and look really good. I jumped in on PS4Pro and Xbox One X day one. However, that was the proposition (especially on Xbox) of being able to play games beyond 900p on my 4K TV. PS5 already gives me high enough resolutions along with modern AA so better RTX effects aren't enough to get me to drop £500+ on new hardware. For me the cost would only be justified if it can for example take GTA6 from a 30fps experience to 60fps. Switch 2 will be the next console I buy at this point. Maybe revisit the PS5Pro conversation in 18 months.
