Bit of a no-brainer for £50, and will be the cheapest way for me to jump into Alyx finally. Think I'll end up with Quest 3 as well at some point, for the GF to have her own Beat Saber machine and some MP shenanigans with games like Walkabout Mini Golf.

I'm tempted as well. As mentioned over in the VR thread, I have an HTC Vive that I've wanted to upgrade for a while, but don't want a Facebox device. There are a couple of other options, mostly very expensive. Some are higher spec than PSVR2, but they come with their own niggles that make them less practical. The Index is an option, but I don't think it would be much of an upgrade.
Ideally, I would want Valve to get a move on and put out an Index 2, but with no sign of that happening, and I expect we are more likely to see a Steam Deck 2 before that, the PSVR2 is really the only option. There is also the added bonus that I have a PS5 I can use it with too.
The loss of the features on PC isn't great, but I don't think I have them with my current headset or with the other options available. Loss of HDR is a weird one, but the haptics bit really is to be expected.

Astro's Playroom has had an update, some more trophies and things to do, not tried it myself but it's obviously the start of pushing the new game.

PlayStation Stars is finally back up and running in Europe, all the stars I should have accrued while it was offline look to be there so I've now redeemed 2500 of the buggers for £10 on my PSN account.

If you had the app in the background I think you need to close it and restart.

People are gonna be pissed about what Sony has planned for the 30th anniversary.

For those with a lot of money to spare and a lot of games too Western Digital are now offering an 8TB SSD that'll work in a PS5. They sent the email a tad early as they don't appear to have updated their websites for it (I checked UK and US) but given the 4TB is over £300 I doubt it's cheap.
edit: checked again some time later, available on the US site, with the heatsink it's $899.99, bargain!

4TB SN850X for £227 on Amazon or £230 for the 990 Pro. Tempted to nab one of those for my PC and shift the 2TB SN850X into the PS5.
Although I haven't turned my PS5 on in over a month, so probably not the best use of money...

Anyone that’s interested in a PSVR2 Smyths have them for £200 off at the mo.

The Smyths price is £330, and Amazon have it for £350.
Wonder if there's a revision on the horizon if they're clearing stock?

Ooof. That's a good deal tbh. I wonder if it's a push for PC?

Yeah, that was my thought as well. And if it's stores getting a dud out of their warehouses, then I'm pretty sure it has further to drop yet. I seem to recall I picked up PSVR1 with a pretty healthy bundle for the "right" price when they were clearing all of those units out. With the imminent Steam VR update to support PSVR2 I do find myself very tempted.

I don't even see the PC angle as it doesn't even have a fair amount of stuff enabled for obvious reasons.

Ooooh, I was waiting for a substantial price drop to tempt me…
Have they got Skyrim working on the new one yet?

I don't even see the PC angle as it doesn't even have a fair amount of stuff enabled for obvious reasons. At it's RRP, I agree. But close to £300, it has great screens and decent controllers so it's quite a compelling offering even if the foveated rendering and the other tricks are disabled. What's the alternative at that price point? Quest 2?

I see the complaint about it not having many of the features on PC and can understand the disappointment. But are those features on any of the other PC VR headsets? Even if they are on some of them, they certainly aren't at that price point (I think some have foveated rendering, but I expect not much software uses it).
There are quite a few options for a PC headset, but they are all flawed in some way. Quest is your best option, but personally I don't want to give money to Facebook and they are acting in a manner that I very much expected by walling a bunch of games off from the rest of the VR market (I guess Sony is too, but that feels more excusable when they are doing that on an existing console platform and Meta clearly have targeted the existing - open - PCVR market). Index is the next best bet, but is pretty out of date now and is expensive if you are going in cold. The headset itself isn't too badly priced though and I very much considered upgrading to it from Vive, but the improvements didn't seem quite worth it (I did get the controllers though, which are great).
Even with the loss of features, personally I still think PSVR2 is the best option for a PC headset and that price is great.

I was waiting for a good price drop before I jumped on and this is it, Smyths is where I got my launch day PS5 and that's where my PSVR2 is coming from now. As I've got PS+ Premium I've got a whole bunch of PSVR2 games from that so that's rather handy.
