Think we might get something on Monster Hunter Wilds, it's been a while. Konami have their own Silent Hill presentation an hour afterwards so prob another combat focused trailer for SH2, what everyone wants to see. I saw someone post a ridiculous list of expectations for the State of Play. FF7 Part 3, KH4, FF17, Spiderman 3, Wolverine, GoT 2, New Naughty Dog project, Resident Evil 9,Persona 6, GTA 6. I mean seriously, why do this to yourselves? You'll be lucky to get 1 of these nevermind all of them Wow, all this year and in 30 minutes too. |

According to my HUKD alerts, it looks like everyone is getting rid of stock of the dualsense, so DS2, maybe? Would make sense since I bought a new pad last week.

Concord - Joss Whedon's sci-fi Avengers in FPS form? Or something like that. Looks broadly fine, but not for me. Out August 23.
God of War Ragnarök is coming to PC on September 19.
Dynasty Warriors Origins, out next year. (It's Dynasty Warriors - what more do you need to know?!)
Infinity Nikki - I've no idea what this one is. Anime Dress-Up Sim 2024?
Ballad of Antara - a hack and slash game? A Soulslike, perhaps? Out next year.
Now it's PSVR2 time, so I'm going to make a cup of camomile tea.
Marvel Rivals - a superhero multiplayer shooter. Say no more.
Where Winds Meet - another hack and slash/Soulslike affair. Looks cool.
Is this Until Dawn again? Yes - yes, it is.
Path of Exile 2 - long-delayed free-to-play action RPG.
Silent Hill 2 - sorry, but this still looks... well, kinda bad to me. Out on October 8.

Astro Bot is back! Out September 6, and looking bonkers in the best way possible.
And... that's it. No Resi, no MGS, no Judas.

Astro Bot looked great, Monster Hunter Wilds could be good, PoEII certainly looks very nice and as it's F2P it's not exactly a risk to try.
Everything else gets a shrug of the shoulders from me, the time spent on Concord was just pointless, hey we've got Overwatch x GotG and the cinematic looks nothing at all like the game and then later here's the Marvel hero shooter that has characters you know and things like destruction. It could turn out well but I seriously doubt it.

I can't look at Astro Bot without thinking of the dismantling of Japan Studio in the service of some French guy.

I'll take Astro Bot for sure, Ballad of Antara & Where Winds Meet probably (need to see more gameplay, but the apparent Soul vibes intrigue me) and Silent Hill 2 at a discount (as I can play the Enhanced PC version). Could also see me playing Until Dawn again, if I get around to play their other games first, and Path of Exile 2 if it's free-to-play.
Not too shabby Sony!

Kinda "meh" for me - none of the stuff for which I'd been hoping (although seeing Monster Hunter Wilds was a nice surprise). Of the new announcements, only Where Winds Meet piqued my interest, and even then I'm more "maybe" than "sold." Sony really needs to configure these shows better. Opening with 10+ minutes devoted to Concord, followed by an announcement that an 18-month-old PS5 game is coming to PC? That's almost as bad as the time they kicked off a livestream with a GTA V announcement seven years after GTA V was released!
All that having been said, I know a lot of you will enjoy the hell out of Astro Bot, so that's cool.
The Silent Hill 2 trailer was at least better than the last one - damning with faint praise, I know, but it's something! (Sorta.)
Oh, and perhaps Dynasty Warriors Origins will be better than the last game in the series, which everyone seemed to loathe. Here's hoping.

Hmmm, Concord. I don't think I've ever been so whelmed in my life. I guess this was part of the Jim Ryan 14 GaaS plan that they got nervous about and scaled back. But man it's depressing to know how much money is being pumped into games that you know won't see the light of day after a year or so and then just be gone forever.
Nice to see Astro Bot but that was a big meh for me overall tbh.
