I was thinking that I can imagine the rumoured Astro game to be a PSVR2 thing. First party software seems incredibly barren and Astro Rescue was probably the best game on PSVR1.

Can't see a new Astro Bot game being a VR only title but a hybrid is a possibility.

Also new Doom is going multiplatform, called Doom:The Dark Ages, sounds very OG Quake.

Which half? The sexy half

It's not a long show but I guess people need to realise how long it actually takes to make games these days. Oh don't worry they still won't realise and keep saying "why are there no games???".

It's interesting because the rest of the year doesn't seem like there is a lot of big names? Not that it matters of course, there are always indies and not as hotly anticipated games that always surprise. But in terms of Sony first party or third party exclusives Think they said there would be no God of War, Horizon, Spiderman or Naughty Dog releases. So its all up in the air atm. And not just Sony but MS and Nintendo too, latter half of the year isn't exactly jumping out at me. So hopefully there will be some surprises. Maybe.

Any thoughts on what we might see during tomorrow's event?
I'm less confident in a Resident Evil announcement than I was this time last week, but I still think a release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a reasonable bet.
Maybe Judas, depending upon whether or not there's any chance of it launching this year.
Not expecting any first-party news.

Probably some news on the Horizon Lego thing, whatever that ends up being (or has that been unveiled already)
Maybe a glimpse at whatever ND are working on.
A big chunk of it will probably be taken up with Destiny 2 stuff.

I think Astrobot is a good shout. I know for sure we'll see their multiplayer GaaS called Concord which I couldn't give a shit about tbh. MGS Delta is possible.

Astrobot and MGS Delta would be very welcome. Anything other than those games that looks interesting will be a bonus for me.

It'll be stuff that's coming out this year and it's a SoP so it'll probably be a sprinkling of first party smaller stuff with third party games making up the bulk. It'll be interesting to see what's there on PSVR2 front, I've still not got one (and the price reduction there's currently on is a bit of the titchy side) but if there's something good on that front soon maybe I could be convinced but I doubt it.
14 games in 30ish minutes doesn't give a lot of time for anything but trailers, which is probably just as well as we don't need another deep dive into something like The Suicide Squad.

Said it earlier but if a new Astrobot game gets announced I'll be proper made up.
It's got that old Sony magic where they would try lots of different stuff, I miss the days when the different regions had their own input into game creation rather than it all centralised through the US.

I had a PS Stars task for 50 points to do and one of the options was play Sackboy: A Big Adventure, added it via essential all those months ago and never played it but I'm surprised how nice it is, in a similar way to Astro Bot's Playroom.

Fully agree with this. Sackboy is great in co-op too. There are some really good (optional) co-op only levels, which are well worth finding a friend / partner / kid to play through. Some of the music is brilliant and it’s just an all round fun and very enjoyable game.

Hoping we will hear more about how they will get PSVR2 onto PC. Adding that compatibility would likely make me bite the bullet and get one, although I'm expecting there will need to be additional hardware required.
Other than that, hopefully new single player games, but I'm not holding out much hope for that.

Think we might get something on Monster Hunter Wilds, it's been a while. Konami have their own Silent Hill presentation an hour afterwards so prob another combat focused trailer for SH2, what everyone wants to see.
I saw someone post a ridiculous list of expectations for the State of Play. FF7 Part 3, KH4, FF17, Spiderman 3, Wolverine, GoT 2, New Naughty Dog project, Resident Evil 9,Persona 6, GTA 6. I mean seriously, why do this to yourselves? You'll be lucky to get 1 of these nevermind all of them

People completely ignoring it's about games coming out this year, none in that list are likely to be 2024 games and most are already known to be next year at the earliest.
