The previews for Stellar Blade seem to be pretty positive. IGN published a good piece about the game's mechanics: www.ign.com/articles/stellar-blade-preview-sekiro-meets-nier-automataWhile Push Square's 'article' starts out with, "You play as Eve, a top-heavy tough girl in a skin-tight latex outfit." (Credit for knowing their audience, I guess, but still every bit as lame as I've come to expect from that site.)

Has anyone actually played immortals of whatever? If so, does it actually have a remotely satisfying story/ending or does it just set up a sequel that will never happen?

I played the trial didn't really get on with it enough to buy it. It obviously bombed and the studio had to let go a fair amount of staff. I don't think a sequel is happening. It was basically magical CoD with 3 colours representing shotgun, SMG and sniper with a hand on the screen that sticks out. Combat is done in arenas of sorts, it can be quite satisfying but again this wasn't enough to convince me to buy especially as the lead had all the charisma of a wet fart. YMMV.

Yeah. It’s why I fancy giving it a go. I haven’t actually played an fps for ages but if it’s just setting up the immortals cinematic universe fuck that.

I had a go earlier on and was quite surprised how good the combat felt. Spell effects and stuff are very good. The actual world and story feels like Syfy Channel level guff though. There's an FSR3 patch coming soon apparently and the performance was pretty shit so I'll be waiting for that if I ever play through it.

I haven’t finished it but have played a good amount, and it’s actually a decent game that just got naff all marketing from EA. Well worth a go at a cheap price imo. I think was about 8 quid on Xbox the other week.

I’ll give it a crack. I’ve been playing midnight suns which is fun while you’re actually playing it but I’m not sold on 90% of the game just being fannying about in hogwarts byker grove

Luckily it's one of the free games on psplus this month so there's nothing lost apart from your time.

I didn't think the card system could work but it does. There's just a lot of faff front loaded, such as the byker grove stuff as you put it, to get past. It does have some silly difficulty spikes though.

I recently abandoned midnight suns. I really liked the actual game but Jesus the manor stuff was like a crappy free to play game.

Midnight's suns combat is great, the stuff at the manor is so bad that I just couldn't.

One of the PlayStation Stars collectibles this month is a hideous Jim Ryan bobblehead.
I’ll leave that campaign unstarted.

I think it's fair to say that I am a bit underwhelmed. Mostly because of network issues and I don't think it's at my end. The resolution is crap and it's quite laggy unless sat next to the router. PS5 is hard wired, 300mbps symmetrical full fibre line. Speed test on the PS5 has 300 down but only 7-15mbps up. Which says to me that Sony are playing silly buggers somewhere. What am I missing?

5ghz or 2.4?

I can't force the Portal to connect to 5ghz with my budget mesh I don't think. It's playable but was hoping it would be better than remote play on the phone etc. The actual device is lovely but disappointed so far. I'll mostly use it in the same room as the PS5 and router, so sure it'll be fine for the most part.

Have you tried multiple speed tests, getting the same result?

Pretty much, upload varies but best I've seen is 21mbps. Rebooted the router too
Speed test on my phone gives the full 300 up and down.

I’ve never had good wifi speeds on Sony consoles, going back to the PS3. Something about their network doesn’t like my ISP or router or something.

Your broadband speed has no relevance to the portal when you’re playing at home. It’s all about your internal wifi. Mine has been fine but I probably wouldn’t play online shooters on it.

Ahh that's shit to hear mate, it does seem like as been mentioned it's all down to your internal WiFi strength. Are you thinking of getting a refund? Can you still get one?

Nah, it'll be OK. I might use it as an excuse to upgrade the mesh at some point.

Had a Portal update the other day, and seems to have resolved some sort of lag I was receiving before. Also Dougs is anyone hammering your network whilst you're playing?

Midnight's suns combat is great, the stuff at the manor is so bad that I just couldn't. SITREP: I'm really enjoying the combat. I think that's great and it is single handedly propelling me through the other 70% of the game which is absolute bullshit. After every mission, decode gamma core, decode artefact, do the training, every fucking time. Why can't you automate the 10 minute grind after every single mission? And friendship mechanics in any game immediately turn the NPCs into the most sensitive, needy, whiny babies but it is genuinely ridiculous in this. 10 people constantly vying for your time, seeking validation and getting the hump with you if you ignore them. Its such a fuck around I haven't bothered exploring the island. I hit a couple of roadblocks, couldn't see how to continue and just gave up. I want to get back into the action as fast as possible, not twat around on superfriends island 8/10

Yeah the combat is so good, they would have just been better off making and xcom style island experience and kept it as a tactics based game. I think it would have sold a lot better from it as well.

It is such a chore. I have circle on auto fire just to bash through the conversations. I suppose if you actually care about that kind of thing there is a lot there for you but for me it kills every shred of momentum.
You come out of a tense battle only for you have to do 15 minutes of admin to get into the next one if you want to unlock decent gear and not be underlevelled. Its genuinely unbelievable that they could allow the combat to actually be a side task against the important job of giving presents to captain America.
