Controller is pretty good. Astrobot is an essential game to play first to introduce you to the new features (it's a free game that's pre-installed), and is a bloody great experience on top of that.
I still prefer the feel of Xbox controllers overall (especially the elite), but this is definitely a solid update to the previous DS4. It's got a built in rechargable battery that you change with a USB C cable, and battery life is acceptable but not great, especially if you're playing gamea that make full use of the new features.

I will try and get Fenix Rising for 20 euro second handed, it really looks and sounds like my kind of Ubi game compared to modern Assasins Creed!
I think I stopped playing open world for 1 year now so that has stopped most of the fatique I felt. I would recommend everyone to switch to linear games once a while or metroidvania's.
I can't get along with The Witness or Talos Principle, any good puzzle game on the ps5/ps4 that is a must have and can be played in 30 min rounds?

The best way to check out the controller is just to play Astrobot. Definitely make that the first game you try- it’s great.
Otherwise, no batteries needed. The DualSense has a built in battery which you charge from the console (or anywhere else) with a usb cable.
If you’ve not played many PS4 exclusives, definitely consider throwing £40 at a year’s PS+ sub as you’ll get access to the PS+ Collection which has loads of top games, many of which are PS5 enhanced (60fps etc).
You won’t be short of things to play, put it that way.

Was forced to play it with children I was babysitting and autistic teenagers during volunteering. Just thinking about it makes my stomach turn hahaha. Will check out Outer Wilds! For anyone looking for a platformer, I would recommend Crash Its about Time! above Sackboy. The latter is really too easy and lacks imagination after a good start. Would argue its more fun to play LBP 3 on PS5 with rock solid FPS.

The only thing that's putting me off the plat is the cut down 100 trees trophy. Think I've only done 5 or so so far so can imagine that one being a massive pain in the behind... Still loving it after finishing 3/4 blessing questlines. Even combat gets pretty fun when you start working abilities and perfect dodges into it. Noticed my combo meter was at over 400 in one fight yesterday I did it by accident whilst I was gathering pomegranates near Athena's tree.

I need to find a decent spot for farming figs actually, as they seem to be the only potion crafting item that I'm constantly running short on (attack potion is pretty great for healing too if you put enough points into it, so I probably spam it a bit too much!)
Will have to see if I can work that into a bit of lumberjacking.

Tbh, I just light attacked every bush and heavy attacked every tree in passing and never ran out of materials (as well as randomly achieving trophies). Seemed to work...

It’s the slightly thinner ones that fall after a few hits with your axe that count towards to “100 trees” trophy. Do grab plenty of healing potions though. It’s well worth keeping your stocks up especially early game. A few upgrades to potions help you get more bang for your buck per potion so it’s worth investing in those when you can.

Outer Wilds is a great puzzle game that fits your 30 min play time. Has this been fixed for PS5? I heard rumblings of it being proper janky both control and frame rate wise. I want to play it but the issues made me stay away from it.

Great game too, deffo recommended to anyone wanting a puzzling game, that said it isn't individual puzzles, but one big puzzle with clues scattered over an entire "open world" solar system. But to not get on with the witness... that game is a master piece. By far the best puzzler I have played in the last 10 years.

I got the 100 trees trophy accidentally when farming amber back on the Clashing Rocks island (the start of the game) - there are forests of dead trees which are easy to chop down.

Battery life on the dual shock is actually better than you might think - an experiment you can try is seeing how long it actually takes to run out of power after the first warning. I generally get several hours.

The dual sense reports low battery when it’s still at something like 40%, it’s weird.

Also I didn't realize it was a kickstarter from 2015. Jesus, they even have stretch goals for Wii U.

Clunky framerate aside (which can still be fixed before launch), Star Ocean 6 looks GOOD. The space opera setting, open world and faster paced combat is giving me Xenoblade X vibes, too. They're back with dual-protagonists as in Star Ocean 2. Damn, I'm excited.

Well that state of play could have been an email. For what they labelled as third party it really was Laden with dog eggs. Pointless video I thought.

Really shocked Star Ocean 6 comes out and looks half decent after 5. I mean to me the short look they gave of 3 cities was a clear signal its not as low budget as 5.
Still do not think it will signal in a true return to the 2-4 heyday but looking forward to it.

Is it just me or does Little Devil Inside look like absolute shit? Uh, thought it was the best thing on there, though admittedly, no idea if it plays well. The rest I thought was absolute tripe, no interest in any of them.

If you’ve not played many PS4 exclusives, definitely consider throwing £40 at a year’s PS+ sub as you’ll get access to the PS+ Collection which has loads of top games, many of which are PS5 enhanced (60fps etc). Do you mean a PS Now subscription? I've not subscribed to PlayStation anything for a couple of years, but it was my understanding that you can only access the PS+ games released in the months your PS+ subscription has been active, unless it's changed.

Just sat in a virtual queue for PS5 after received stock Alert from Game. Got to the front of the queue and clicked "buy pre-order" and it said it was out of stock. Is this normal to be fucked once you hit the front of the queue?
