PS5 might be putting out a signal the HDMI switch Can't handle. Look for a HDMI switch that can do HDMI 2.0 at a minimum. Cheap enough on Amazon. Most cheap HDMI switches can't handle 4K@60

It could be either/both, but also the HDMI handshake with the PS5 seems quite sketchy at the best of times so it could be that using it with a switch (certainly a cheap one) isn’t a great idea.

I've got a switch that works fine with 2.1, except I have to cycle the inputs manually otherwise my monitor doesn't pick it up. HDMI handshakes are weird.

HDMI can be a bloody nightmare to figure out issues but if it works direct it's probably an issue with either the switch or possibly the cable from the switch to the TV.
My current setup (I'm still only using a 1080p TV), involves a 2.0 switch that connects my Xbox One X, Switch and PS5 to a cheapo capture card leading to a manual 2 way switch that either goes to my TV or the video input of my PSVR1 which then connects to my TV on a different HDMI port. I sometimes wonder how the fuck it works but it does.

Thanks gents, looks like a new 2.0 switch and a new hdmi cable will be in the basket for Amazon shortly then! May as well cover both bases.

Remember it's 2.1 if you want 4K/120Hz etc.

Also ensure the cable is kept as straight as possible, to avoid lag

Assume Deluxe is Extra over here? Just checked, it's another name for Premium.

It's what Premium is called in regions that can't use streaming, not that you get a lot more than Extra but I suppose you get a bit more now.
The movies list is actually pretty fine for Premium/Deluxe users, I can hardly say all the films are crap as a lot of them I own on disc!
One thing that needs fixing though is subtitles on if the film has baked in subtitles already, I had subs switched off and fired up Black Hawk Down to see how it looked and the Somali had the film's subs plus the generated subs which was a tad annoying.

I've not had to delete DLC on my PS5 before but I purchased the Lego Marvel Avengers deluxe game for PS4 in this weeks sale and it has downloaded some Lego Star Wars DLC with the Avengers DLC and I can't see how to delete it I'm sure it is obvious, but I can't see how to do it Any help appreciated

Try the options button on the game tile and go to manage game content. That should display all the downloaded DLC for that game

Thanks Nitrous - tried that - on PS5 games there is a dustbin next to the DLC, however on PS4 games there is nothing and no other option As it was only a smallish size I have deleted everything and re-downloaded it all again, however this time the rogue Star Wars DLC didn't show up - weird

Ooh. Is Elite worth a punt nowadays? I’ve got a vague itch to play from the BBC Micro days but not sure I have the energy if it’s a long-haul game.

Since Frontier stopped all development of the console version of Elite Dangerous I stopped playing completely. It was a lot of fun, especially with friends but the game is pretty much over now for console players so I wouldn't put much time into it.

I was looking forward to that when it first came out on PC but never tried it given my PC is pretty crap now, the announcement it was coming to PS5 was great and then later it's on Extra/Premium too? Fantastic.

Just tried PS5 game streaming on PS plus platinum and I am seriously impressed. Ratchet and Clank loaded quickly and looked good.

I gave streaming a bash earlier as well, maybe Gotham Knights wasn't the most strenuous of tests given it's only a 30FPS game but it loaded up the save I had for when I played the trial some months ago so that was a good start. Playing the game itself felt pretty good (even if it's certainly not as smooth as SM2 at 30FPS is but that's the game not streaming). It looked absolutely fine without any obvious artefacting. I'm on Virgin Media with a 350Mbps connection so that probably helps but it wouldn't have any effect on latency.
Not sure I'll use it for much more than testing out stuff before downloading it but maybe, if I can't be arsed to clear some space, I'll use it more. This surely has to be coming to PlayStation Portal at some point down the line?
One thing that I sort of hadn't realised before is that streaming works like running a media app, it won't close down a game that's suspended. I played some GK then wondered if the save file had synced to the console, I decided to download GK locally, then saw that my SM2 save hadn't synced with the cloud. It hadn't synced because it was still running.

Yeah I tried a couple of games earlier and came away pretty impressed. I got a standard BT connection - 36mps i think, but miles Morelas played pretty well. Surprised to feel all the haptics etc. I don’t know whether it’s as snappy as physical/download but there wasn’t any sense of input lag. It did drop resolution a little bit at one point but had been playing a good 20 minutes.
I don’t think I play anything new but older games I might give it a go. For some reason I tried Kingdom Hearts and it was flawless. Only rocking a 1080p tv but it was full resolution and felt like there was no latency issues at all. Mashing the analogue stick around and it felt like I was playing locally. Good stuff.

Being able to check for game updates for titles in your game library rather than on the dashboard is finally here, it had rolled out in some places about a week or so ago but it looks like the option was finally switched on in the UK with today's small update to the OS.

Yeah, finally appeared for me the other day. Would be nice if they added a check all for updates option too. It's always bugged me with the PS4/5 that they just stop checking for updates if you haven't played a game for a while.

One of the few things that was still good about Twitter was the integration with PlayStation, I've shared fucktons of screenshots and videos through it but it stops on 13 November.
Any future #PS4Share/#PS5Share posts will have to be done manually.
