Yeah, probably makes sense. Just annoyed I wasted £7 to be honest. I might be wrong, but I thought if your primary account on the console has PS+, the others don't need it to play online anyway? |

My experience is you can only request to play PS4 games below the limit.

I played it about a year ago and it was pretty damn good then.
I think it's been patched a bit too. I keep meaning to revisit it.

It runs fine now but the game itself is still very weird structurally and narratively and you can really tell it wasn’t finished as intended. Which is a shame because the potential is incredible and when it’s good, it’s very good indeed.

Played and completed the PS4 version on my PS5 when it got stable enough to drive more than a few streets without it being a coin toss as to whether it would crash or not. I absolutely loved it but then I would have as I'd been a fan of that world since Cyberpunk 2013 came out in 1988 (now I feel a bit ancient).
The PS5 version wasn't hugely improved over the PS4 version, it already ran at 60 FPS, the RT mode dropping down to 30 didn't really look that much better and felt bloody sluggish with the latency of the controls. However, after watching the PS Access video about the DLC it actually looks like a "next gen" version of the game now, the QOL improvements will apply to the base game as well so no need to take a punt on the DLC if you're starting out.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners is worth a watch on Netflix too, even if they really over do how much power the Sandevistan implant has.

Stupid question:
Can I play normal bog standard (non blu ray) DVDs on the PS5? There's a film I want to watch that isn't on streaming and never got a blu ray release. It's going to look like crap but it's the only way.
P.S. No, it's not anything dodgy. It's a british horror film that came out about 20 years ago, wasn't particulalry loved and dropped off the face of the earth, but I rather liked it.

It's going to look like crap but it's the only way. It won't look great, but probably not as bad as you think. I'm sure it will have some upscaling done to it somewhere in the chain (not sure if it would be the PS5, TV or AVR, if you have one). I occasionally get DVDs from a rental service (documentaries often are only on DVD, the odd film). They are noticeably quite a bit worse than blu ray, but still perfectly watchable and you forget about it after 5 mins. |

For info - the PS5 can't play 3D Blu rays or 3D PS4 games for that matter - they didn't include the 3D processor tech in the console; they will play, just not in 3D

Quick question: I just received a promotion email from Sony to upgrade my current PS+ Essentials subscription to Premium for free for the remaining period, which just happens to be a bit over a year. My question is, will it be easy to downgrade my Premium sub back to Essentials once it ends? I don't intend to pay up more money than I already do, since I usually buy the PS exclusive games I'm interested in, but I can't resist a good offer  |

Do it and then set the sub to not auto-renew. It’s easy to do on the console. Just grab another offer at some point in the next year and it’ll take over. I typically just renew the sub in the summer sale each year, though my subs don’t actually expire until Nov, so it just stacks the cheaper price.

Factory reset by prodding a paperclip into the hole in the back can sometimes clear problems.
Also taking the cover off the controller and clearing out any dust and crap around the stick is worth a try first. It helped get rid of the slightly drifty stick on mine.

Also worth mentioning if you're on Premium, you can only stack Premium and can't buy a year of extra or essential.
In the last sale I wanted to buy a year of extra for when my premium runs out, but it's a no go. I'd have to wait for my premium sub to expire to buy Extra

They had an offer to get 25% off Premium to stick with it making it cheaper than Extra so that's probably going to be an ongoing thing. I had thought about dropping down to Extra but it didn't really make sense. Cheaper PSN cash helped keep the costs down too.

I had a charging issue and sent back to the official Sony repair service and it was easy as, arranged it via the Sony website I think, didn't take too long from start to finish. |
