I’m playing hitman 2 atm. Does it actually do anything if you play it through hitman 3? I think it tarts up the graphics and frame rate a bit, especially if it's on a PS5. I don't even think it does that to be honest, they all run at 4k 60fps on PS5 now.

Luckily my sister in law ordered me the dark plates from dbrand early last week for my bday. Has been delivered today and she will drop them off at the weekend!
Took delivery of a silver ff7 decal from etsy today, looking forward to putting it together and making it look much better aesthetically!

I don't even think it does that to be honest, they all run at 4k 60fps on PS5 now. 1 and 2 were 1440p on Pro, 4K on X. Both Pro and X had the option of unlocked framerates, which yes, now run at a consistent 60fps on the new consoles, where they were around 35-45 before. 3 on PS5 is 1800p, I believe, 4K on Series X. So there is an improvement on PS5 when playing the older titles within H3.

There you go then, a barely perceivable increase in resolution.

I thought they added new shinies, lighting, and improved animation, but I guess they could have back ported all that easily enough.

Does it utilise the PS5s raw power to stop Agent 47 look like he has shat his pants when he’s walking?

I played a bit of them fairly recently, I'm pretty sure they haven't improved the animation. I can't imagine it being any worse than what it is now.

All sounds like the only reason is to have everything in one place then.
That said, I dunno what the 2 to 3 experience is like. 1 to 2 was an absolute ball ache. I owned about two thirds of 1, but then they took away the ability to buy individual levels as DLC once 2 arrived, and the only way to get them in there was to rebuy the whole complete game, install it, then install 2, import them in, then and only then could you delete 1.
It made the PS4 to PS5 upgrade woes a delight in comparison.

All of the engine improvements are backported to the older levels/story missions when played in 3. Also some of the little gameplay additions, like the security cameras, being escorted by guards when caught trespassing, the phone camera, etc. Better lighting and reflections, impovef texture. None of that has been added to the original game files, you need to play them in 3 to get the updates.
But most importantly, IMO, is that 3 with 1 and 2 installed is smaller than 2 by itself, plus it makes use of the faster loading on SSD.

It took me fucking ages to work out how to port everything across onto one place when I bought 3, it's an absolute fuck on. Then I played a few levels and remembered I don't like the Hitman games and deleted it all.

I haven't played it since like the week Hitman 3 launched but I daren't fucking get rid of it in case all the shit from the previous games I attached to it disappear.
So I've got like a 50gb version of Playroom sat on my SSD until the end of days.

I played through a bit of Astro's Playroom for the first time since launch last night, and fuck me are the haptics something else compared to literally anything that's been released since.
Really hope the next wave of games start putting it to use a bit more. Returnal and WRC were a step in the right direction.

My PS5 turned up last week and Astro's is about the only thing I've had time to play so far. Having been on XSX since launch, and hearing you lot talking about haptic in the pad, as soon as I started playing it all became clear! Some very nice touches. Though I've spoiled myself for anything else out there now, haven't I?

Astro's is the only game which has impressed me, when it comes to the haptic stuff.
Great console overall, but for every other game, I'd rather be using a DS4.

Really? It's better than the DS4 in ever conceivable way.

I disagree. I don't find it comfortable in the hand at all. It has a lot of weird angles and seams that makes it awkward to hold. I hoped I'd get used to it over the past year, but I never quite like using the DualSense.

The dualsense is the best controller I've ever used. Mind you, I also think the DS4 was far superior to Xbox controller as I hate having both analogue not symmetrical. Even if a game doesn't make use of the new features I still think it's more comfortable and preferable to DS4

Conversely, I find the asymmetric Xbox stick layout comfortable. Like a pair of old slippers. DS4 left me cold and made my hands ache.
I guess in years to come, occupational therapists will be writing treatises on the ills of controllers and their effects upon morphology. Show me the hands of an 80 year old in 2050 and I’ll tell you whether they preferred PlayStation or Xbox!

Yeah, PS controllers have always felt like they added the analogue sticks as an afterthought (which in fairness I suppose they did with the PS1)
Xbox controllers all the way for me. I especially love the heft of the Elite controllers. Feels like something that would hurt if it hit you in the head.

Yeah, I really liked the DS4 but the new one is much better, imo.

Yeah, I prefer the Series controller. The ps5 one does feel a *lot* more premium (and delicate) though.

I prefer the Series controller as well, which could very well be the perfect controller for my hands. I play most multiplatform games on the SX mainly for the controller, but also because it was easier to expand the SSD space prior to the recent PS5 update. Which I still haven't done.

Well fuck. Had a power cut and it has fucked my ps5. Looks like I need to manually reinstall the os from a USB stick. I honestly can't remember the last time I used one, so need to go buy one. I am fucking terrified I may have lost my Ghost of Tsushima save. I am literally on the last mission and very close to platinum, that is a shit load of hours to lose. So anyway, bought USB, downloaded the update. It did a factory reset and everything is back to normal. I did panic when I went to look at cloud saves and only had six or so there, Ghost of Tsushima was missing and when I started the game it started from the beginning so I had a little cry. then I realised it was a PS4 game so checked under that section, downloaded the save and all is good. Not that it happened to me, but I did get worried when I started the game it created a new save, then I went online and downloaded the old save and replaced it. Probably best not to boot any games if you factory reset until you download saves first. I really would have been upset if the Ghost save had uploaded and overwritten the old save.

I had something similar happen when the power went out on my PS4 Pro. I didn't have Plus at the time, so my cloud saves weren't updated. Lost a month of progress in The Witcher III: Hearts of Stone and Dragon Quest XI.
Haven't gone back to either since.

Just bought Resident Evil, is it worth having rat tracing on? Does it still run ok?

Honestly you'll barely notice it, Tue game runs at 60 frames for the majority of the time with it on, but it's not a major visual difference.

No, it isn't supposed to be that dark, although I think there's a gamma difference between Xbox and PS where the blacks are a bit more crushed on the PS.
