Arsenal aside, I have no idea of any execs of any of my hobbies. Gaming, film, book publishers. I assume they're all bastards.

Not sure if this is common knowledge, but just had an email from PlayStation saying that from 9th May the PlayStation Collection will no longer be available. You still have access to them if you add to your library though, so a good idea to make sure you grab them while you can, even if you aren't going to play them soon.

It’s probably in Valve’s best interest to put Alyx on the PSVR2. Likewise for Sony to put Horizon, Resi 8 and GT7 on other headsets a year or so down the line. For VR‘s sake really. It's only in their interest if there's actually a business case no? I’d say the equation is more than it’s in SONY’s interest for HL:Alex to be on PSVR2, and they should be on Valve’s back with a bag of money to mitigate the cost of porting it. I don’t think a business case has had anything to do with what Valve does for twenty years. Effortless money pours in from Steam, so there’s no obvious motive for Valve to produce product on any kind of deadline. Always a shock when they produce a game at all. I mean, was HL:Alex profitable anyway? I see them as a rich guy’s walled-garden experiment company that sometimes a mutated plant escapes from, beholden to no laws of commerce or reason.

Price overall and the paucity of decent games has done for PSVR for me, I bought the original but sold it soon after.
Especially in these belt tightening times they need to go mass market, not niche.
I use my Oculus 2 constantly due to simracing, its transformative TBH. I paid about £250 for it at the time which I think is the price where Mr Average might be tempted. More than got my moneys worth out of it. Cannot say that about my original PSVR, it sat there doing nothing most of the time, so I got shot of it.
Not only did they RAISE the base price of the Oculus 2 recently, they released the Meta Quest Pro at £1500, talk about not reading the room. £500+ not including games for PSVR, no wonder they are panicking. It is like they are living in a bubble where recessions don't exist
VR will never really take off until they work out how to go cheap and keep quality high. Which is a shame cause I love it for my admittedly specific needs
I would add that my views are coloured by a general negativity I feel with Sony, squeezing every penny out of their users, game prices for first party stuff, and lackluster PS+ tiers, and a feeling the PS5 generation is still hamstrung by PS4. Certainly I give them a sour look these days.

I'm not sure it will ever take off, kind of see it going the same way of 3D TV's.

Depends how you define take off. I think the first one sold better than they were expecting hence why they’ve done another one. I suppose that’s why Xbox did another Kenect but that was shite . VR has stayed around far longer than 3d tvs

Yeah, I don't think VR is really comparable to 3D TV. It may not full take off in its current form, but I think there will always be some place for VR in some capacity, be that in the home, for educational purposes, museum exhibits or Laser Quest-esque entertainment venues.
It will likely need to change and make the form factor of the headsets lighter and more comfortable before it gets really big and traditional games need to solve the issue of movement and space required if they are ever going to be able to become truly mainstream (and they may never do this), but I do think VR will be here to stay in some form.

Needs more transformative experiences like I had with Sim racing, when I realised, oh I can't race any other way.

Looks gorgeous, though not a fan of GT myself. I feel like anything you are seated in is the way to go. I don't know, racing cars, fighter aircraft, spaceships, JCB, whatever, just make the games that make people go WOW! Wipeout on the original PSVR was ok, but of course, not backwards compatible. Well done Sony

Quite excited about VR2 again now. Promising that all the hands on’s are positive about the quality of hardware and image, etc. will grab Horizon, Moss double pack, and Synth Riders. Got GT7 and Pistol Whip already.

Oh, mechs, how is there not a mech game in the launch lineup. Sony you are tools. Mech games in VR are just such an obvious and easy win, hopefully someone is doing one. Perhaps Mechwarrior 6 will support VR but it only just got announced so it's a while away.

Any cockpit game works fantastically in VR. I've only played Elite Dangerous in VR, but I expect it is an incredibly dull game on a flat screen. In VR, it is just incredible. Approaching a ringed planet is still one of the most transcendent VR moments for me.

And Frontier binned not only VR support but console development too, I had hoped there'd be a PS5 version with VR at some point but that's certainly never happening.

Yeah, they can burn in hell for those decisions, put many hours into the console version. Never played it in VR though, I think you can on the PC, imagine it would be amazing.

I hope GT7 has hand gesture recognition. I’d be throwing a lot of wanker signs at people. Fucking wankers.

Did anyone try Zone of the Enders The 2nd Runner in VR? I was always curious how that played. Was on the previous PSVR (and the PC equivalents), but not backwards compatible with PSVR2, obviously.

I tried the demo of ZOE in VR, didn't think much of it really, it hasn't aged well. The demo won't work on PS5, not sure if the game does.
