Just the £210 for the customisable Dualsense then.

Just the £210 for the customisable Dualsense then. This price definitely makes me wonder how much the PSVR2 is going to be.

PSVR1 came out at the same time as the PS4 Pro and cost about the same, right? So I'd imagine no cheaper than the PS5. Maybe even the recent price increase.

I'd be amazed if PSVR2 came in less than £500. Even at this price I would have still picked one up but thanks to the fuel prices rises we're now down the best part of £400 a month so think it'll have to wait.

It's going to be £600 or something mental, that controller price is absurd.

If you think that’s bad you should price up a Scuf.

Was interested in controller but 200 quid is a piss take.
Would have to be some hefty sale reduction to tempt me now.

Honestly, if it had been £120ish, I would have probably done the Sony Fanboy thing and pre ordered it without a whimper.
It is almost half the price of the full-fat console though, so fuck that for a laugh.

100 was my max, 120 if I was drunk and smashed my controller playing Fifa.

How is it I still can't buy a feckin PS5*! off the shelf or from the big online stores. I probably should not have sold mine at start of year but even so, I want one in time for God of War, even worse I "mugged" my PS4 off when I bought the 5. My most up to date playstation is the 3, laughably it has GTAV in the drive, how is that game so old!!!
*As in the standard model for £480, not the £600/£700+ bundles.
Pull your finger out Mr Sony!

When they come in stock they've been lasting longer and longer now, although I guess that's all going to change with Christmas coming up.
Good luck mate. Get the hotstock app installed and let that alert you.

The controller was never going to be £100-120. It was starting at £150 minimum, and that was optimistic. The Xbox Elite V2 is £160 RRP, and the haptics and adaptive triggers made the base PS5 controllers more expensive than the base Xbox pad. Add in the the removable stick unit and the price is going up.
The Scuf Reflex is £200 (plus £12 shipping) and has less features. The next model up is £220 but every change you add with a Scuf is permanent (as opposed to the switchable trigger stops on the 1st party pads). The Dualsense Edge genuinely looks like a better product than what Scuf are doing (I have a Scuf - I bought a fully kitted custom one for £360), with most features of the Elite V2 and the added removable stick units.
It’s expensive, for sure, but it’s a better value product than the only real competition on the platform by a fair margin. It has more customisable features than the top-end £280 model for the same price as the base model.

Just understanding the market. It’s an optional purchase, no-one needs one.

It's going to be £600 or something mental, that controller price is absurd. The difference is VR hardware sales will lead to VR software sales, which is where Sony will really make their money. I still think VR2 will be priced relatively competitively and quite possibly subsidised. If it really takes off Sony will have years of ongoing profit from game sales.

Only if they support it considerably better than the first psvr was.

I'd never given a shit about VR until I went on holiday the other month and they had a couple of PSVRs in the activity lounge. I must have been sat playing the Driveclub game on there for about an hour, it was absolutely brilliant.
I don't think I'd baulk at the price even if it was £600. That controller is still laughable though. 200 pounds for a bloody pad.

Phattso Cheers I did not know that, I will investigate Blackmarsh63 I know, strange I am on their invitation list (you have to opt in and they will email you when/if you are chosen)...have been for weeks and weeks, it still doesn't guarantee getting one. Cheers both

Only if they support it considerably better than the first psvr was. Which presumably didn’t happen because not enough people bought the first one to make game development worth the effort, I would wager largely because of the price. It’s a tricky balance to get right as the tech is expensive, but I doubt they would have bothered with another VR unit if they didn’t think it would be financially lucrative.

I think PSVR might've been better served (with PC ports and wotnot) if the stupid Move controllers weren't a) fundamentally gimped, and b) almost as rare as hen's teeth. And that's before factoring in how underpowered the PS4 CPU was.
I think PS5+PSVR2 is in much better shape on all those fronts. Bad luck launching into these global financial conditions mind you.
Sony have made quite a few units for launch so, yeah, they clearly think there's something there. Get Half-life Alyx on it for a start and that'll kick up some interest.

Duffman, didn't you have a PS5 early on? Which you then sold if I remember correctly.

He did, which he said above. What's really going to grip his shit is that the fans on the new ones are much louder than on the one he ditched (based on my buying three from three separate outlets and all being stinkers) so there will be double regret.

I grumbled a great deal about paying £55 for a spare controller. Two hundred?
Fuck off.

They can't even afford a PS5 controller with their earnings.

Yeah, that sounded shit. But then, I've never played Bayonetta, so really, I'm just part of the problem.

Just understanding the market. It’s an optional purchase, no-one needs one. Everything in the industry is an optional purchase to be fair. Doesn't change the fact the controller is a rip -off.
