It is the natural cycle, but he did a lot of damage in record time by recruiting his old guard, all of whom were entirely useless, and offloading whatever few remaining decent players we had left.

Getting rid of Snodgrass and replacing with Luke Varney
Swapping Becchio for Steve Morison
Ditching Howson and bringing in his Holy Quadrilogy in midfield of Michael Brown, Paul Green, Michael Tonge and David Norris
Signing Paddy Kenny, natch, on ridiculously inflated terms
Signing El Hadji Diouf, because there was a risk of dressing room harmony being too high
Ostracising Ross McCormack, despite him pretty much single handedly keeping Warnock in a job for most of his time here
Refusing to play Ross Barkley who we had on loan because he was doing crazy shit like passing the ball on the floor to teammates

He’s an absolute grade A cunt, who firmly believes his own legend. He claims he takes jobs as favours so there’s never any responsibility for anything, it’s us when it’s a win and them when it’s a defeat. I forgot how much I hated him till I started typing this out but it’s filling me with rage.

The only positive memory I have is of his last game before getting sacked, we were losing at home to Derby, and we just sang “Can’t fault their effort, a great bunch of lads”.

Just watched the highlights on YouTube and yes they are indeed bad/unlucky goals. I assumed the bloke most offside in that screenshot scored (an unfathomable howler) so it wasn't quite as bad as I thought.

Those first two goals are exactly the sort of injustice that people who don't want VAR will need to accept. Clear errors (obvious with the benefit of a replay).

Grimsby's offside trap was hilariously bad. In 4mins of clips there were so many other instances of them inadvertently playing the forwards onside and then screaming at the assistant that I lost some sympathy.
