My confidence was sadly unfounded. Dr has advised she go to A&E. Wife is on her way there now and I’m waiting for what feels like eternity for this train to leave the bloody station.
The MIL is going with her and the FIL can watch the older two until I get back. Fucking nightmare. This is going to be the longest commute of my life! Really wish I had wfh today…

Good luck Rob. I'm sure she'll be fine and dandy once they've got some antiemetics and fluids into her! They don't half worry us eh!

Don’t they bloody just.
They are on their way now so I’ll find out what the initial assessment is and decide if I need to go. Feel so sorry for her. She been so unwell for days now being dragged off to hospital.

Yeah that's the worst part. You'd give anything to take the pain away. Fortunately she'll completely forget about it as soon as she feels better.

Bless. My youngest was up there so much she used to have a pass to children's ward. No need to go through A&E, straight in! They only rescinded it last year, we'd totally forgotten about it (and thankfully hadn't had to use it since she was 3 or so).

Apparently they only let in one parent. I guess that means less people to get the way.

They’ve given her a drink to replenish her sugars but, being stubborn as a mule, she won’t bloody drink it 🤦♂️

Looks like she staying in. Had a cannula fitted, I’m surprised I didn’t hear the screaming 10 miles away!
It’s for the best I guess, but I feel pretty helpless here. Hopefully they’ll let us both stay but I doubt it.

Thanks for the kind words folks re: the neice. She's in the best place, everyone has been impressed with the quality of the care she's receiving. She's currently learning to walk again, just a few steps exhausts her but she's on the right track and day by day her heart seems to get a little better. They're unsure how it'll cope without the device so a transplant is still viewed as the most likely outcome. RobEG Hope everything is OK with your little one and she's back home soon.

If there a fundraiser, I'll gladly contribute. Hope she recovers from the op and a donor is found.

At the hospital, she seems much better. Off the IV and seemingly able to hold stuff down again. Just need a urine sample before she is discharged. She is so desperate to get home.

Done! I know how stressful it is to have your child in hospital for any length of time.

Thanks guys. She’s still in there and I’ve had to come home to deal with some work stuff. Hopefully I can go back in a couple of hours to pick them up!

She's home! Then vomited immediately on her return I'm putting that down to being the car though as she does suffer with motion sickness.

Ah fuck. Maybe it's still just tied into the journey and maybe the excitement of being home?

Yeah maybe. she has become very lethargic again despite having perked up over the last 12 hours or so. I think she is exhausted as well though. Hopefully a good night's sleep will sort her out.

I bet you'll see a spark of her old self in the morning man, honestly. Fingers crossed for a good nights rest for her and the rest of you.

Thanks man. She had a little bit to eat (tiny bit of bread and some watermelon) and went to sleep. Hopefully she’ll get some decent rest in her own bed and wake up feeling better.
It’s so horrible seeing them so unwell. Thanks for all the words of support and encouragement, it means a lot. X

Morning update. Slept through, no vomit.
Woke up very lethargic and still in pain in her belly. But then she has barely eaten for days which can’t be helping. Given her a bit of toast, hopefully she can hold that down. If she can I think we’re on the road to recovery! Otherwise I guess it’s a trip back to the dr.
What a bloody week!
Edit: Nope, bringing everything straight back up still. Pretty much back to where we were before we went in. Back to dr today. They said they’d give her anti sickness medication if she was sick again there (which she wasn’t) so hopefully we can get some of that and avoid another stay in hospital.
