I mean, Webb did jump happily on board Graham "I literally only spend all day every day whining on twitter about trans people now" Linehan's "lets make up some shit about a charity that offers support for young people with gender dysphoria so that they lose funding" campaign. He got lightly called out on it and decided to double down. Generally, getting behind the bullshit of an actual full-on bigot without doing any research or anything then acting like a victim when people pull you up on it isn't a great look.
Around the same time he was retweeting articles by the actual crowd who write those "we irrationally hate trans people, but since that doesn't fit with our carefully curated 'look at me I'm a big non-bigot' brand, we're going to pretend that trans men don't exist and also come up with bizarre hypothetical scenarios like 'men are going to undergo sex changes so that they can assault people in women's bathrooms'" articles, because it's definitely a good look when the only thing you can come up with to defend your position is hypothetical scaremongering the ilk of which used to get trotted out by homophobes in the 80s.
He mostly guilty of being a fucking moron, probably.

That's particularly disappointing from someone that wrote an actual book about his experiences of toxic masculinity

Marcus Alonso, defender for Chelsea, says he will no longer kneel before kick off saying the gesture is losing strength and will instead point to the 'No Room For Racism' badge on the sleeve of his shirt.
I think its one thing to say it is a gesture losing it's strength but to then replace it with another is something else. The whole point surely is to kneel together as a team.

Don't worry some people will be giving him shit for pointing to his badge too.

Maybe he could kneel and point to his badge at the same time

Can't have that, people would probably think he was standing up for a cause.

It doesn't exist as a biological fact, it's a human right to a belief.

It doesn't exist as a biological fact, it's a human right to a belief. You can only have a cervix if you are biologically female. That's not a belief, it's a fact.

Yeah it's weaponised and wrapped up with the implication that you have to have a cervix to count as female.

On the offchance you're ignorant rather than trolling... Trans men with a GRC are legally men, and yet may have cervixes, for which they may need specific, targeted medical care. When medical communications use "cervix-havers" rather than "women", it is an attempt to ensure that trans men are still included and eligible for such healthcare. Sure, it sounds a bit clunky, but it's a small gesture with no downsides (apart from inevitable TERF backlash), when the alternative non-inclusive language can genuinely lead to illness and death in a minority group. This isn't hard.

I just don't get transphobes; why do they feel so threatened by the idea that people might feel fluid when it comes to gender. What fucking difference is it to them? Just let people be and get on with your life. Honestly, this country..

Just let people be and get on with your life. Honestly, this country.. I can understand peoples anxieties about it - gender is part of everyone's identity and, in the case of women, they've faced a lot of adversity and had to fight hard for what they've now got (which still isn't enough) so I don't think instantly dismissing people as TERFs is really helpful. It might not be right, but it's understandable. I think engaging in the way people are in this thread is the best way forward (although I'm not sure it's warranted here) rather than taking up positions

Yeah it's weaponised and wrapped up with the implication that you have to have a cervix to count as female. Absolute nonsense. That's the same flawed logic that claims that women who can't have children are surely not women. You don't have to have a cervix to be female but you can only have a cervix if you ARE female. And that whole "assigned female at birth" thing is ludicrous.
