My Destiny 2 muscle memory is strong with this one. I kept being put off by the announcer telling me a Spanker was available.

Had to launch it from my library and not the tile on the dash, but it;s working. Played a couple of games of BTB and I like it a lot. It’s very slick and polished, and the spartan models are really nice.

Haven't played much Halo multiplayer before now but this is fun and looks very nice. I also like how my teammates can't see my abysmal K/D ratio afterwards (at least not in Capture The Flag).

Loved my time in the 'alpha' tests so I'm firing this up once download completes and I have time.... which, sigh, will be tomorrow night now I guess.
Have they added more maps yet? If so, how are they looking?

Managed to get a quick game before the sportscene highlights of the scotland match, so far so halo.
Look forward to seeing how badly my reactions have atropied against the new generation of halo players.

I have been playing the MCC so I have been being killed all night by constantly pressing B instead of the right stick for melee. I can not get it through my thick skull!
Other than that. It's pretty good. Liking the objective stuff and seem to be better at that. Any team game better with a party though so hoping there will be plenty of takers. Which I guess there will be with it being Halo.

I've only watched a bit of a Nextlander stream but the menu music is great. The shoegaze-y/post-rock works really well

Played a couple of CTF v bots earlier, very nice. I'm shite obviously getting 5 kills and 4 deaths, no captures...so who wants to team up 👍😃

It is getting harder and harder just to play "death match" style shooters. Battle royales annoy me as you spend 80% of your time running around collecting gear.

Well, this isn't great. I tried loading a bot match and it stayed in the lobby "waiting for other players" (?) for minutes. And there seemed to be no way to just interrupt the process. I quit to desktop and now my GPU usage is stuck to 100% even though I can see no programs open in the task manager.

Oh this is quite brilliant. Maybe played ten rounds today and it's just so much fun and plays so well. Might do some bot games though just to learn the maps more and where the pick ups are. Had a brilliant round on the night time street map.

I find the release a bit messed up personally - I'm not a huge online player anyway, but I'd usually want to play through the campaign to get warmed up, then have a blast at multiplayer.
But feels like if I wait to the full release, everyone will be unbeatable.

There are training and bot matches to learn the ropes.
I wouldn't worry too much about people being better - there always will be. Even in the week or so it takes you to play the campaign you'd have people in the MP 16 hours a day from day 1. If you're interested, just jump in a shoot some stuff.

The matchmaking has always been pretty good, I reckon. You'll get the odd one sided have but I think overall it's fairly even. |

Only had a few games but this is very nice.
I've moaned about Halo needing to have a full reboot in the past and I take it back. The basics haven't really changed, in fact it feels dialed back from Halo 5. With that in mind, it's suprised me how just polishing those basics makes this so enjoyable to play. (BF2042 and EA take note)
I'm not even all that good and had a blast. Also like how the quick play makes you play other gamemodes outside TDM, almost forcing people to work together.
I was dying to play 2042. But when EA are asking for £60 in its unfinished state, its an absolute no brainer to wait and dive back into Halo like a comfy pair of shoes.

I've had some great close games with Oddball. Really is fun but milage varies with random...sometimes great, other times they are running about going for weapons whilst the ball runs off.
