For those who have checked out all three lifepaths, which was your favourite prologue? (I went with Nomad.)

For those who have checked out all three lifepaths, which was your favourite prologue? (I went with Nomad.) I think your enjoyment of the prologues depends on what you wanted from it. On release day, I went with Streetkid because I wanted to be in the city as early as possible. A friend of mine went Corpo because nice suits and business espionage was his thing. I would recommend the Nomad one to anyone who wants to get into the driving and big open spaces as soon as they like. It might just be my perception, but the Corpo one seems noticeably shorter than the other two. They've all got their good points. I think Nomad might be my favourite way of meeting Jackie, second to Streetkid.

Seems the update has borked my controls. I'm getting what feels like stick drift on both sticks when I move them. I had a little panic as drift is common this gen but not happening on any other game. Hopefully fixed real quick.
*edit* Also, on lifepaths...done a Nomad and running Street Kid this time. I think I have preferred the opening and dialogue choices of Nomad so far. I like the slightly disconnected from the city vibe.

Cheers, Mike.
I've got to say, driving is the only thing I've experienced so far that doesn't feel good. It makes Watch Dogs seem like Watch Dogs 2!

Driving is weird, the better cars feel noticeably better, like a different game even.
Get the Ken Block car ASAP (just need to discover it in a warehouse, just Google the exact location), it handles much better than most of the boat-like cars

I've only driven V's default vehicle so far, but it feels like driving a dodgem car on a lubed-up slip 'n slide.
Will try to get hold of the car you mentioned ASAP!

I haven't tried the update yet as I'm waiting for certain mods to be updated to be compatible with the new patch.
To be honest, the new Face In The Crowd ending depressed me so much I might need a little break from the game for a few days.

I went Corpo first time around and there's a scene where V throat punches some twats giving her earache that is pretty fucking cool. I liked a lot of the unique speech options it gave as well
I'm doing Street Kid now and I'd say it's just as good, just different. The life path definitely informs how I play my character though, more than I would have expected
I've never had an issue with the driving. It's not racing game good but I like how they feel, especially the bikes. Didn't think they needed tweaking, so it'll be interesting to see how they feel after the patch. Sliding around corners especially felt good
With regards to finding cars out in the world, is there anything special you have to do to aquire them, or just get in them and they're automatically added to your garage? I found a pretty sweet convertible in a garage during one of the NCPD quests that I don't think I've seen driving around, so thought it might be unique and obtainable. I lost it after a timeskip though

After reading everyone's comments regarding the voice actors, I went with fem V, so I think that's off the table

This game could really do with a Career Select screen, so any new character you create doesn't get added to your already lengthy list of saves and autosaves.

I'll admit that while I was 99% certain I was going to go with female V, I messed around with both options in character creation for a while.
I tried to go full Ape with masc V - "A dick like two cans of Stella taped together, end-to-end", as my grandpa used to say - but was disappointed to find that the penis customisation options on offer were meagre at best.

Yeah Phantom Liberty as a whole really messed me up. I am sympathetic to the reading that finds some hope in that ending though, even after it has ripped your heart out. The Corpo lifepath is my favorite and feels the most "correct", which I fully admit is in part because it was my original V's origin. However, it does I think provide the most realistic circumstances for your moving in with Jackie and the most fittingly dramatic downfall, as well as a beginning that clicks in to the greater story so appropriately that it feels like the intended choice, though I doubt CDPR would admit that. The others are perfectly valid, but I thought it was odd that streetkid V doesn't know Jackie despite also being from Heywood and hanging out at his mom's bar, and the guns-blazing car chase in the nomad start felt annoyingly videogamey. Yes, I know it's a video game.

Nomad is still my preferred start, it's the one that feels most complete to me as it actually has some action.

There are actually only a couple out in the world that you get to keep for free after finding them; everything else you either get as gifts for being a good little merc or have to buy through Autofixer. Sadly, you can't keep anything else without mods.

I think the one you get for completing the Captain's gigs is my favourite. Mr Hands' is pretty nice as well. And the Akira bike

Imo the three most noticeable cars you can permanently get for little effort
"ken block" rally car - just find it abandoned.
"Murk man" one if the fastest cars, just found in a cave
Monster truck - a couple of hoops to jump through but follow a guide and it takes less than 15 minutes.

So C.E.T. got updated more quickly than I expected, and I broke and went back in.
The paint job on that new 911 is even more disgusting in bright sunlight. The yellow looks sun-bleached to fuck.
Walked into H10 Apt. and found this:

Just watched the Corpo and Streetkid prologues on YouTube - decent enough, but happy with what I chose (especially as both videos featured male V, and I wasn't sold on his voice acting).
Speaking of which, I didn't know that Cherami Leigh voices Makoto in the Persona 5 games until I rolled credits on Tactica last night.

/loads save after installing update, steps outside apartment building and is immediately murdered by stupidly powerful hit squad
Not liking what they've done with the radio. It keeps playing when you get out/off of vehicles now so you have to manually turn it off every time. It's annoying and a bit immersion breaking
They've added loads of new bikes though and I've got a cat now

One small, but amazing, thing in the update is the option to remove hand cyberware from the weapon rotation cycle, so now you can switch between just two weapons very easily - makes my current throwing knife / katana build feek very slick, as I don't need to keep opening the weapon wheel to get to the thing I want.
Did want to go full blunt force but katana is too fun. Though I'm still not very slick with it, a few fights have devolved into just Skyrim esque wild flailing and mashing of health inhaler.
But when I do keep under control it's quite fun.

Is there a 'right' way of dealing with Maelstrom? I ended up keeping the credit chip I'd got from Meredith, shooting Royce in the face, freeing Brick, and killing everyone who stood between me and the exit, but I don't know whether all of the above was good, bad, or indifferent.

Doesn't really matter. Shit things will happen in the game regardless of what you do - it's a violent world and there isn't really a 'good guy' path You can probably just give them the money and walk out. Never tried it The shard Meredith gives you has got a virus on it that will kill some of them and then cause you to have to fight your way out anyway. Playing Corpo gives you an additional speech option to tell her you know it's bugged and you can optionally remove the virus or just tell Royce that it's got a virus on it. Don't know how that works out for Meredith in that instance, but I imagine not well
There's an optional Royce boss fight on your way out if you don't kill him (you can just sneak past him) Some variables but don't sweat it. First time I gave him the Militech chip as is, second time I did the same as you I don't think you can redeem the credits though

Cheers, AA.
You actually can redeem the 10k in credits, if you click on the hacked Militech chip in your inventory - I did that, then used the money to repay Vik (which may have been a waste, but he seems like a good dude, and I felt it was the right thing to do).

Oohh free money. I read somewhere in passing online that you can't so didn't try. They might have patched it. Honestly, 10k isn't that much once you hit your stride anyway
Notice that they've caused enemy weapons to break now so you can't just sell them all, which makes it a bit more difficult to accrue funds than before

If Meredith was there at the end of the mission then you're good.
Yeah loot seems to have been rebalanced in 2.1, still making bank tho
