One thing that did kinda make me go "Meh" about that particular situation was:
after betraying Songbird, she goes on a murderous rampage through the entire stadium markets area, with a full on massacre of Barghest and civilians alike. Bodies everywhere, the autofixer terminal is in flames, all the vehicles around it destroyed. After the mission ends and you return there, it's all fixed up and repopulated as if nothing happened. I was glad to see that Tommie hadn't died alongside his clothing shop owner dad, or any of the other shopkeeps, but it did make me think "Must have been everyone I met here previously's day off when she came through." It is a fair point generally the game keeps the more gratuitous action sequences seperate from the main world, so it's not something that really occurs much, but having that shoot out in the same market you can then go and walk through a few days later is a bit of an ommission. It even applies to Help Songbird route really, as the shootout there is pretty intense and would require a clean up.
But still, it's notable that it's the exception to how things usually feel

Pinning favourite vehicles to the top of the call list would be nice.

I actually started a new bloke V/street kid playthrough, so I bet they add a new game plus mode. 'New game plus' at the moment is just a PC thing that's basically start a new game and cheat yourself everything you had before. I think I prefer the natural progression from a clean save anyway, but we'll see what they do, if anything
I always thought it was strange that you couldn't customise the paint jobs on the vehiches, so it'd be cool if they added that

2.1 aditions include a working metro system and bike wheelies.
Other stuff too. Harder Adam Smasher fight by the sound of it, which I'm not sure about. Though my last play through was on a glass cannon hacker with no points in Body so might be more relaxed if I had more health.

Not sure if it's happened but there's an article on IGN. So could be bollocks

From TA
If you don't feel like watching the stream, the short version is that this free update will add a bunch of new features, including a city-wide fully functional NCART metro system, the ability to listen to the radio on foot, and new hangout options for all the romantic partners in the game.
Alongside these major additions, there will also be additional chases added to some missions and replayable car races as side activities, both of which will help make the most of the new vehicle combat system that was added in Update 2.0. The Adam Smasher boss fight has had an overhaul too, with new AI for the big man and a Sandevistan system for him (this mod lets the player slow down time, so we're a bit horrified to see how that manifests for Smasher).

Nothing spectacular then
I could never get the hang of shooting and driving at the same time

I disagree, that's a good update.

Although it's nothing game hanging, the culmanative changes are pretty big and unexpected. It's particularly good for folks who like to RP in stuff like this.
I'm not sure it needed an announcement and live stream but for a free update it's pretty cool.

I've gone full sneaky/hacking/non-lethal in my current playthough. It's been difficult getting through a couple of areas but managed so far (didn't even notice you could sneak past Royce the first time) and I didn't find out until fairly late in the game that you can just incapacitate mission targets and dump them in a car for someone else to deal with, so I've been making use of that
Not really using guns because the 'makes weapon non-lethal' mod seems like a lame way to do it and doesn't make much sense to me. Are the bullets less hurty with it installed? Thinking about it, one thing I don't like is that the only way to hide a body in something means killing the person (not sure why)
Does anyone know, do fists count as non-lethal and do they benefit from blunt weapon skills? Similarly, do tech pistols benefit from tech and pistol skills?

From what was posted in this thread, there's nothing I'm really going to make use of. The metro is cool but I never used fast travel anyway and love driving around the city. If I'm walking, I'd rather listen to the sound of the city. And I didn't romance anyone anyway
I would have much perferred vehicle customisation and maybe more weapon customisation options. Bike stunts is cool though

After I installed the working metro mod, I used it once then never bothered with it again. So unless an official version spices it up by having some sort of story based encounter while riding it, then I'll stick to driving and fast travel.

Call me weird but some of my favourite moments in the game were just sitting in the back of a car being driven around Night City, just gawping out of the window at the stunning views. So yes I'm gonna be riding those metro lines a lot!

As an aside, Night City reminds me a lot more of Robocop and Judge Dredd than Blade Runner. Dogtown feels much more like Blade Runner to me

To answer my earlier questions:
Fists count as blunt weapons and tech pistols do gain the benefits of both tech and pistol skills
I am curious about these secrets; I didn't even know you can get pets (how!) and apparently there's a secret ending. Is it just a silly easter egg thing or an ultimate happy ending? I don't want to research it due to spoilers

Read at your own risk:
Pets
Cat Obtained in Act 2. Requires you to have one cat food in your inventory. Outside your first apartment in Megabuilding H10, go down the corridor until you reach a trash barrel with a message shard in it. After reading the shard, you can place the cat food in a bowl on the floor. Return some time later, and Nibbles will have appeared to eat the food, at which point Johnny will call your attention to him. Interact with the cat here to adopt him.
Iguana While you and Jackie are in Yorinobu Araskas' penthouse, you can pick up an iguana egg from the display with the small tree, on your immediate left as you enter the main room. After completing the Playing For Time mission, return to the H10 apartment and beside the couch, there will be a bowl where you can set down the egg. It takes between 90 and 110 in-game days to hatch, unless sped up with a mod. Sleeping for 24 hours over and over again is the fastest way to see it happen.
Endings
The Devil Requires Takemura to be alive. Go with Takemura and Hanako before the Arasaka board in order to depose Yorinobu. V keeps their body, but has a choice between having Araska archive their mind, or foregoing this and choosing to live out their remaining few months.
The Sun
Assault Arasaka with Rogue. Inside Mikoshi, enter the well as V, and become owner of a mansion and The Afterlife.
The StarAssault Arasaka with the help of the Aldecaldos. Inside Mikoshi, enter the well. V keeps body, Johnny is gone, and V leaves Night City with the Aldecaldos to live out their remaining few months.
TemperanceOn either the Aldecaldos (The Star) or Rogue (The Sun) ending path, when you are inside Mikoshi, cross the bridge. Johnny then keeps V's body, while V's consciousness stays in cyberspace.
Go Out On Your Own Terms
Choose to end things on your own terms on the rooftop above Misty's shop. The most depressing ending by far, and the phonecalls characters make to V afterward during the credits are an acting powerhouse, Judy and Panam especially.
Don't Fear The Reaper (The Secret Ending)
During the conversation on the rooftop with Johnny about your options, if you've satisfied certain conditions to make him friendly enough, then when the dialogue choice “Think trusting Arasaka’s risky but worth it” comes up, simply don’t say anything. After five minutes of silently looking at Johnny and your gun, he will offer you a new choice. A suicide run, just the two of you walking in the front door of Araska, all guns blazing. The Smasher fight is harder, as you are on your own against him. If V dies during this run, that's it, the game ends. If V makes it through, you reach the choice of The Sun or Temperance endings, but less of your friends will be dead because Smasher didn't kill them.
Phantom Liberty apparently adds several new ending possibilities. I've not played through those yet, but I feel like I'm close to one now.

I clicked on the pets and I'm definitely getting those. I'm just about able to still snatch the iguana Are the spoilers the endings themselves or the steps to get them? Which is the Panam one (as I've already seen it)? I can only think of 4 endings Panam, Arasaka, Johnny, Alt. Maybe Reed?

Kinda both, as I couldn't really think of a way to describe one without the other? The one you've seen is The Star. Temperance would have been the choice you didn't make at the end of that one, and can also be arrived at via The Sun.

A couple of days with boy V and he's OK. There's definitely times when he sounds silly and a few lines have fallen flat. The accent is just so strong and sounds put on to me I was surprised that you only ever meet Evelyn once. Yet she's one of the more memorable parts of the game (for me anyway). I suppose it's the emotional impact of her story, but she's got so much presence too

I think some of the H10 apartment decorations might be bugged. I have the prayer altar from finishing the zen master vision gigs in my inventory, but it doesn't auto appear anywhere or seem to have a "place here" hand icon the way the Scorpion figure or the Chimera Core did, and in all my playthroughs I have never seen any of those three lifepath specific ones. cyberpunk.fandom.com/wiki/V%27s_Apartment/Memorabilia

Can I ask what the consensus is regarding the voice actors?
Is a male or female V the best choice for a first play through

Female V. No competition.

Post by Aunt Alison on Dec 3, 2023 18:53:29 GMT
Yeah, it was discussed a little while back. Lady V is by far my preference. I find male V quite distracting, so I really wouldn't want that on my first playthrough
If you're happy to play either, definitely go with female. If you really want to be male, it's not the worst. If you play through the prologue and his voice doesn't bother you (or you like it), you'll probably be fine
Each life path has a fairly short associated prologue section, so it's a good opportunity to try out both if you're unsure

Some weapons display but most don't. I did the zen master thing but didn't notice the opportunity to display it or the core. I have done the iguana this time though
