I am thoroughly enjoying Phantom Liberty so far, however it is as bugged up to the tits as the parent game.
So far I've had:
• An achievement pop for unlocking all perks in the Relic tree despite only investing in one of them
• At one point I found myself crashing into and being knocked down by invisible vehicles
• Occasionally on entering Dogtown on a bike, it will refuse to travel at anything other than that enforced slowed-down speed after exiting the vehicle scanner

Don't know if anyone was aware or following the FF:06:B5 easter egg / mystery - if you have this entire post will be redunant, possibly, but if you've not aware or haven't been following it's something quite easy to miss. It's been quite long winded and interesting, and has appeared in both Cyberpunk 2077 and (to a lesser degree) The Witcher 3 - it's convoluted but I've gone down the rabbit hole of reading about theories and reading methods of cracking the easter egg a few times - its easy enough to find articles, but the Reddit is also a decent place if you're interested www.reddit.com/r/FF06B5/Anyway, it looks like it's been more or less concluded (for now?) It leads to a couple of weird cutscenes and have possibly-meta and fourth-wall breaking implications. Kind of fun to watch. The first, more WTF cut-scene is only accessible if you complete the Easter Egg in full. I didn't do this. The second cutscene can be accessed really quite easily and is more vague and mysterious. The important thing is that whether or not you complete the full easter egg "quest", you get a BIG FUCKING MONSTER TRUCK as reward.

Finished Went with the Panam ending - felt right. As much as I love it, Night City was nothing but misery - Jackie, Evelyn - and meeting Panam was one of the few good things to come out of it (love Panam). There were moments when, amongst all the gigs and cool stuff, that I had to wonder if there was anyone who was actually a friend, or just people I did work/killed people for. Leaving it all behind instead of ending up like one of the sad old fixer fucks playing the game until the day I die is the way to go
I didn't finish the Johnny questline stuff (didn't go on the date with Rogue) because I just felt like he was up to something with Rogue to manipulate me into becoming Johnny (doing Johnny stuff, taking the pills) and taking my body. Her randomly giving me the replica of his jacket was just too weird. Never trusted Johnny - not sure I ever really liked him. All said, I did feel sad at the end when he left. The thought of V living on without him just feels strange and lonely. I guess it's difficult not to grow attached to someone literally living in your head, even if he was a massive douche (and honestly just thought he was quite sad)
Like him or not, I did enjoy interacting with him and the game is just something else
Don't think I'll do a proper review in that other thread because I've just got too many thoughts and the more time passes since finishing it, the more I'm thinking about it all
How conditional is the ending? Is it purely a binary choice at the end or do your actions alter whether or not your body is more V or Johnny at the end? There were several moments where the screen did a... thing when I did something that made me think something like that was going on. It happens when you put on Johnny's jacket or play the guitar in one of your apartments. It also happened when I sat down to talk to Panam towards the end (so took that as pushing me more towards V). Either way, with the Panam ending, it sounds like there's some hope anyway
For Phantom Liberty, I sided with Songbird all the way - no question. Even though she did lie to me, she still felt like one of the more genuine characters in the game and felt very similar to V in that she just wanted to survive and be free. If V couldn't, at least she could help So Mi to. Also, Myers and Reed can get to fuck. I was never even part of the NUSA to begin with. Didn't take the oath, don't care about it. Alex was cool though (her taking out Hansen was incredible)
Didn't bother with any hacking stuff (left Int at 3) as it seems like something fun to save for a future playthrough and I was just in the mood for something with a bit of action. Did a lot of killing but they were all bad people. The guns and various abilities felt great and there wasn't a second of the time (almost exactly 150 hours) I spent playing the game I didn't enjoy. Even at the end, I wasn't ready for it to be over and it felt nothing like being well over 100 hours. It just flew by. Even the gigs are interesting and I never felt like I was doing something I didn't actively want to be
I've heard people complaining that the city isn't very interactive and, while I do normally enjoy exploration a lot, I felt it worked to the benefit of the game here. It was really quite freeing. I didn't feel like I needed to explore every corner, try and talk to or listen to every NPC I came across, look in every bin or random box for stuff or try every door. I could just enjoy the game. It made the world feel so much more immersive and convincing for me. Night City doesn't exist as a playground that revolves around you, you just inhabit it. I'm going to miss just commuting around the city listening to 98.7 Body Heat Radio hoping my favourite songs start playing
There were so many times in the game where it felt like they went so much further than they needed to. So many little details that you barely notice - like people at camps strumming on guitars, but they're playing songs you hear on the radio. Little call backs here and there (Panam mentioning Jackie briefly in a conversation during one of your car journeys because you talked about him earlier). It's insane and amazing
I don't think I regret any of my decisions. I might not have always liked how things turned out but I'm happy with my choices at the time and it just doesn't feel like a world of happy endings or clear good/bad boundaries. The writing is good enough that even if things go bad, it's still interesting. Evelyn fucked me up a bit though - still think about it. I really wish there was more to that (I'm sure Phantom Liberty mentioned dealing with the people who hired her in some way but I don't remember anything coming of that). It's one of those things where I just keep thinking 'if only I'd done something different', but it's just how it is. That scene where you try to comfort her on the bed and she flinches from your touch. Makes me sad. Not gonna lie, it kind of made me not want to be around Judy anymore. Too depressing. Felt like a world away by the end
Guess I'll shut up now anyway as I'm just rambling. But I want to talk about eeeeeeverything

It really is a great game.
I do think about it a lot, I honestly can't think of a game where I've found the characters as engaging.
Johnny is a prick, but intentionally so. I can understand why you'd not trust him, but there are moments of vulnerability and sadness. Depending on how you interact with him he can come across as being more sympathetic and trustworthy... To a degree anyway.
I think that's one of the things I love about the game, but it goes beyond the setting - in many RPGs your character is the centre of the world, but in 2077 there's a sense that events are going on that don't depend on your presence, that you can't control. V's story is just one amongst a web of others.

I have reinstalled Cyberpunk and intend to start it asap. The trouble is AA you were also going on about Shadow of the Tomb Raider recently and on a whim I've installed that as bought it yonks ago. Forgot just how enjoyable these new Tomb Raider games are to play and I've just kind of been sucked into it. So this will need done first.
I think I'm going to start Cyberpunk from the beginning when I go back to it though as only made it a short way with my last character and I think it was quite a bit before the last few patches, certainly the big one.

Yeah, there were definitely moments with Johnny but I couldn't shake the feeling he was playing me. The paranoia was fucking real, let me tell you. I couldn't play it for a while because I really didn't know how to proceed (had to fight with wanting to see what happend in that questline/do more stuff in the game vs not wanting to be made a fool of/lose to Johnny/hate myself later)
I think that's just a testament to how amazingly realised the seedy world is. He lost me when he took control over my body that first time I think. Not sure if he slept with Rogue or not then but if he did, that's so gross - using my body like a doll. Not cool, Johnny. Not at all
He comes good right at the end so maybe playing through again (without the distrust and paranoia) I might feel differently towards him. Well played by CDPR for making me genuinely uncomfortable with whether I should trust a character or not though
Compltely agree with your last point; there are even key characters who meet their end by the hands of someone other than V (Dex and Hansen spring to mind), which gave them agency and made it all feel bigger than you. I wouldn't want to mess with Alex, so I'm glad she was cool about everything in the end

Didn't play it prepatch but my experience was fairly trouble free. Not without its issues but pretty standard for playing most games these days. Most little niggles seemed to randomly fix themselves over time. The only persistent one (on Series X) was the cursor acting weird in the inventory when using the D pad
Also, the clothes shopping in this is the best I have ever experienced in a game. I think I sort of broke it a bit by buying so many (that I was never going to wear) as it started taking ages whenever I tried something on (but fixed itself eventually)
I also grew weirdly attached to and felt quite proud of my vehicle collection. I did spend an awful lot of time driving around the city though. Annoyingly, whenever I bought an expensive car, the game seemed to give me the same one (but a better version) as a reward for something

I deleted a maxed out character that had experienced all the endings and started a new one entirely when the Big'Ol Patch came out, and the difference in the skill trees/character build felt tremendous.
I played through the entirety of the game with this new character, including all police scanner activities, and got the last two tarot cards before I started Phantom Liberty, which I am still playing through.
My experience of it has gone quite differently with it than yours though, AA. Last night, I:
watched helplessly as Kurt Hansen strangled Alex to death, after which I avenged her in a boss fight with him that concluded in a quite violently animated scripted finishing move.

I'm hoping to jump straight into this when the physical PS5 version comes out next week - pretty excited, not gonna lie.
Did you guys go with male V or female V?

I've played it through as both, and other than locked off romance options, there's little difference. Some people seem to prefer Fem-V's voice acting, but I never had any issue with Male-V's voice, personally.

First run - Fem V
Sorry Male V VO but it's true. You do a good job but Cherami Leigh kicks ass.

I went with female V, but both are good. I do prefer fem V voice acting, but it might just be because I played fem V first.
It's interesting to compare their reading of lines - the scripts are largely the same but they have different inflections at times that gives some scenes slightly different vibes.
Will likely go masc V next, want to try a Body / Reflex build

I don't think I'm going to play through the other endings just yet as the story feels personal and emotional and I don't want to dilute my choices/story
I might do them eventually on a full playthrough though
I thought I'd read there is a a plus game but I couldn't see anything, just quit or get bumped back a bit before the end to carry on with gigs and stuff (but I'd already done them all)

I played through the prologue a couple of times as male V but couldn't stick with it. He just sounds like a twat. Lady V gives a great perfomance though and really sells a lot of scenes. There were never any moments where I didn't like what was said
I might play male next time but I'm glad my first experience was with girl V as nothing was (potentially) ruined a bit by some bad voice acting

I tried male V and it was just jarring, I'm sure the person is a great VA but I just couldn't buy the lines they were delivering. It felt that female V was the canon character.

It probably didn't help that I went with Corpo and the voice just doesn't work. Might be a better fit for one of the others

I almost always play as female characters in RPGs, and everything you're saying makes me think it'd be the right choice here as well; on the other hand, I would like to attempt a romance with Panam.
Decisions, decisions!

Only person I had a dalliance with was Meredith, who is a very minor character who just happened to be there at the right time. It wasn't an emotional liaison and she never called

I'm still thinking about this and wondering what choices led to that outcome. What's really cool is that you can't see the seams; it didn't strike me as something that could have gone any other way. I didn't think 'this happened because I'd done/said this thing previously'. Can't even imagine what it was that affected it. It doesn't even directly involve me. It's one of my favourite scenes in the game as well - the way the whole thing is set up and framed so you're in the right place to see it when it happens even though you're not expecting it
There's even an amusing quest I assume you won't get later as a result as well
It's craaaazyyyyyy. It's blowing my mind. How many other things were affected by my choices or could have gone completely differently

Spoilers below - nothing story specific as such, but just mechanically how decisions can lead to different outcomes - pulling back the curtain a bit. as much as I love the game, many decisions are ultimately decided by a single option. In some ways there's a lot of smoke and mirrors making the player agency seem greater than it is - but generally events up to a critical decision won't impact on the event. So often those big choices are fairly binary - that may be disappointing but I'm comfortable with that because it's done extremely well. More specific examples, So whether Alex kills Hansen, or vice-versa, is scripted depending on whether you betray Songbird or Sol. That's it. Any decisions prior to that wont impact that event... But the game does a very good job at flowing things together seamlessly so it feels natural.
Additionally I've definitely seen some dialogue and line deliveries change based on other actions, which helps with the illusion that choices are less binary. So maybe it is smoke and mirrors, but when it's done that well, does it matter (especially when it's hardly the only RPG that handles things in that way)?
There's also just enough callbacks to make you think "oh wow, if I'd done x then y wouldn't happen" - those moments are ultimately quite minor but again, the cleverness is in the illusion it creates, and those moments are used in such a way to really feel important. It's quite masterful.

One thing that did kinda make me go "Meh" about that particular situation was:
after betraying Songbird, she goes on a murderous rampage through the entire stadium markets area, with a full on massacre of Barghest and civilians alike. Bodies everywhere, the autofixer terminal is in flames, all the vehicles around it destroyed. After the mission ends and you return there, it's all fixed up and repopulated as if nothing happened. I was glad to see that Tommie hadn't died alongside his clothing shop owner dad, or any of the other shopkeeps, but it did make me think "Must have been everyone I met here previously's day off when she came through."
