So far I've only bonked Meredith and there was nothing romantic about it. I got to take the dildo home after - just how I like it It's actually a pretty decent blunt weapon and beating people about the head with it never gets old.

I've reached the/a point of no return. Still have some stuff to do (going to eke out as much playtime as I can because I don't want it to end) - when is a good time to do Phantom Liberty? Can you return to the main story after or is it best to wait until you finish, reload an older save and do it then?

Can you return to the main story after or is it best to wait until you finish, reload an older save and do it then? Phantom Liberty just plays out as another questline so you should be fine to play it and return to the main quest anytime you want. It also doesn't preclude you from playing other side content in the rest of NC.

One thing I do kind of like in Cyberpunk is that you have moments in the main questline where you have to wait for other characters to get back to you. It actually gives space to do side quests without the the feeling I get in some RPGs that your ignoring the *IMPORTANT URGENT MAIN STORY* I mean sure, that does happen to extent but it feels a bit more natural. I also like how - vague spoilers here but I'll tag it - for the most part the stakes are fairly low. There's no end of the world stakes, your fate and actions can impact characters around you, but ultimately things will keep on going on in much the same way. It's much more a personal than many RPGs. (Of course, some actions might have more profound consequences in the future. Thinking of Alt in particular. Essentially unleashing a powerful AI from behind the blackwall might well have future implications for the world...).
I found that focus on individuals stories just kind of neat. Everyone is a character in their own story, and yours is nothing special.

The 3 round burst on a pistol like Scorch combined with a maxed out Sandevistan makes things like Wilsons' shooting challenge an absolute piece of piss.

Anyone else experience difficulty getting vehicles in and out of Dogtown? Managed to get the barrier out to lower by exiting and reentering on foot but the barrier to get in is still up
Not the end of the world but annoying to have to get out, walk up the road and summon a new car each time

The Dogtown checkpoint has always worked for me, no issues with gates not opening - what platform you on?

Series X. The gates open, it's the barriers either side that don't work properly. So I drive through, get cleared, come out the other side and then can't drive past the barrier. It was really confusing the first time I tried to exit to deliver the stolen car. Drove around for a while trying to find an alternate way out but it was just being fucky

Yeah, really weird, never had that issue myself 😕
That's not very helpful, sorry!

I'll have to see if there's a new patch but it'll probably mean not being able to play again for hours
I also probably didn't explain that very well. There are barriers in the road inside Dogtown after you come out of the gates. They're the things that are/were in the way. The one on the way out has gone down now so I can drive out fine, but the one to enter Dogtown is still up and in the way. So I can drive in through the checkpoint but then get blocked by the barrier once I'm in

Even after all this time, some of the original bugs haven't been ironed out.
Vehicles will still occasionally go off in the opposite direction when summoned instead of coming to you, or spawn inside another vehicle causing one or both to somersault.
NPC corpses will still resolve their own clipping through the floor issues by launching themselves across great distances in a ragdoll fashion.
The System Collapse quickhack doesn't always work, and just causes an enemy to convulse in shock and then resume their business as if nothing happened.
I don't know if this is a bug or more of an oversight, but the "Killing In The Name" quest appears in the log way too early, and doesn't come with one of those "Wait until something else happens" messages that other such quests have appended to them, so unless you look up the quest and realise that several others have to be completed first, you could just be browsing computers for ages looking for the Bartmoss website while being unaware that it just won't show up until later.

There's another one in the tower assault mission at the end where you're jumping down. There's a heavy guy on one of the balcony levels below you. if i scope a weapon or quickhack onto him from above, PS5 crashes instantly to dashboard. after PL i went back to finish some base game ending trophies and it still does it.

Jesus fuck-mothering cyber-christ.
The weapon stash wall in the apartments is bugged to absolute shit... but only the right hand one. The left hand one displays everything properly, but for some reason on the right hand one, only Sasquatch's Hammer, Dying Night, Bloody Maria and the Butcher's Cleaver would actually display. Apparently it may be something to with the ones created from crafting specs resulting in new variants of the other weapons with different ID codes since the 2.0 update, so the only solution I could find was to use CET to add in the older versions of the affected weapons, which means my item stash now has two copies of a whole bunch of iconics.
Worked though. Now only missing the revolver from Kerry and that shotgun you get from Smasher in NG+ in my current playthrough.

I don't think any of mine are on display. Do you have to do anything special? I just dump them all in the stash and don't go home very often anyway
In other news, the LizzyWizzy show was really cool. I was annoyed that after spending ages picking my outfit for the party and even going out shopping for shoes, visiting several shops to find the perfect pair (which I did), I then had to wear the inferior one the game provided me with. I imagined myself wearing the scuba gear for the entire party in protest

Finally finished Phantom Liberty.
What a ride, amazing game and I felt genuinely torn by some big decisions. To the point where I've made a few saves I'll be reloading to look at the different options.
Then I'll replay the OG endings, then... Well, might have to start a new game. I dunno.

List, including the new ones added:
EDIT:
I've just realised, the Lexington pistol uses the original design for Dying Night.

I'm genuinely thinking Reed is Elba's best performance since Stringer Bell. There's some nuance in his voice that really make the character feel real. Come to that I'm also fairly impressed by Reeves as Silverhand. Most of the game he's just a cocksure arrogant prick, but in the handful of moments of vulnerability there's a real sadness in his voice Genuinely found the Faces in the Crowd farewell emotional.
It wouldn't be the ending my V chose, but had the save ready. But even after knowing I'd be reloading I found it difficult to press the option. That's how pathetically attached I am to these characters.
Actually that entire ending was far better than I expected, it's not a happy ending but the character interaction was perfect... I know "subverting expectations" is a bit of a meme, but this did that perfectly and offered a philosophical coda to the entire game. Maybe that sounds pretentious. I can't think of a game I've felt this emotionally invested in for very a long time. Honestly maybe ever.

I have had this game since launch, and for various reasons never really played it. Having recently gotten a memory expansion for the ps5 I'll finally be able to install it without deleting the infinity amount of games my small boy has installed.
Really looking forward to this.

Apologies, I'm just going to make another rambling post because I love this game and have been not just playing it more but thinking about it and reflecting on it more. Spoilers abound particularly for Phantom Liberty. It's really interesting how, after observing all endings of Phantom Liberty, Reed is actually the most honest character, and So Mi is extremely manipulative. At every stage your encouraged to think Reed can't be trusted, but this So Mi, trying to escape her life, can be, but So Mi has been trying to manipulate events right from the start of the expansion - her drive is understandable, and is a very sympathetic character, but ultimately she's been lying from the start.
The world is set up where corporations and authority is perhaps not to be trusted.
But Reed is a good man, and honest. It's like you're encouraged to believe he's lying, but he genuinely does carea bout So Mi and V, but he's also heavily bound by his loyalty to the NUS. There's a similarity between Reed and Takemura maybe, characters who are can be moral but their loyalty and principles blind them.
It's all just very morally grey everywhere and the more I think about it the more interesting it becomes.
It's also interesting how Johnny's goal - the destruction of Arasaka - is only explicitly realised in the ending where his engram is destroyed (removed like a tumour, in his own words).
I dunno, it just nicely plays into the idea that, ultimately, the state of Night City (and the world) can't be lead by a single person. There are multiple stories that intersect -sometimes the intersection is brief, othertimes individual stories become entwined, but I really like the idea that the influence of V, the player character, isn't the only force in the world - most games make the player character the definitive power in the world, and I totally get why that appeals, but Cyberpunk 2077, in general, just presents our story as a thread in web.
And I find that refreshing.
Maybe I'm entirely wrong, but it just feels that way to me. Apologies for that ramble but I love this game and have been drinking whisky.

Depends how you look at the world. Your "good" character is just a puppet of nusa and lives for the red white and blue and is only a nice person if you align to that.
I need to learn the quick way on my phone to spoiler so I can say lots more. My phone displays this site always on desktop view for some reason, which is really annoying..
But yeah the beauty of the main game and the add on is it's often grey where most games are basic good v bad.

I don't know, I think whilst he is very beholden to the NUSA he does care about those around him - to a fault, and I think Elba's delivery and some of the animation suggests that at times he's not always comfortable with how So Mi is treated, and he clearly has regrets. Maybe "good" is the wrong way to describe, but he's honest in his interactions with V- he may omit information but he doesn't outright lie to V, that I can recall. Entirely unrelated to the above but just thinking about the final conversation between Johnny and V and Johnny uses V's real name... that whole conversation was just moving, choom.

Also it depends which ending you had to the main story and to phantom liberty. I never trusted So Mi at any point in the story so I made the hard choices based on these. I also hate the nusa so I had some choices to make.

Xbox version has 3 discs.
Including Phantom Liberty, as I understand it (while the PS5 version only has one disc, and requires the DLC to be downloaded with a code).

I believe that's because as per Sony's rules that would require a separate SKU and that would have to go through certification and CDPR didn't want to go through all that.
