Is this a good, complete game on Series X now? You're gonna have a lot to deal with between this, Elden Ring and/or Lords of the Fallen ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Relatedly, the blink-and-you'll-miss-it icon for a Bolt shot is three chevrons going up. Huh? The guide I posted above shows three chevrons going up (in red) is the hydration status effect. There is also three chevrons pointing right that is cold blood stacks (speed boost after kills). How many different chevron icons do they need?! The iconography in this game is even worse than Dead by Daylight. That guide is out of date, I'm afraid. For example, the Cold Blood stack icon was eventually updated to a snowflake, and then it was updated to nothing when Cold Blood was removed from the game. FWIW you can see every active status effect in detail by holding down the weapon wheel button (alt on keyboard).

Noob question! I did try to google it but couldn't work it out. What is this buff / debuff that's appeared next to my health bar? The three chevrons? I really aren't sure, so any help would be amazing ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)
Can't believe you don't know how to use the three chevrons

Is this a good, complete game on Series X now? Unequivocally, yes. It's feature complete and as long as you go in with the information that it's not really an RPG and more of an action game with talking sprinkled throughout you'll enjoy it a lot.

To be honest I think it's as much of an RPG as some other games labelled as such.

To be honest I think it's as much of an RPG as some other games labelled as such. I think it's more of an RPG than the Assassin Creed games which have been labelled as such as is the style these days. I think it has the superficial trappings of an RPG but not the mechanical depth or the choice of an RPG. I still fucking love it though.

Is it like the original Deus Ex then? A linear story but with a few moral choices along the way and options over your playstyle/how you approach missions?
I'm kind of hoping you're allowed to kill people without feeling bad about it. Love Deus Ex but can't bring myself to not play it completely non-lethal. Sometimes it's nice to just kill people, you know? Bad people

I think I'm going to get this
Couple of questions, how is the DLC integrated? Better to have it from the start?
Also, any compelling reasons to play as a boy or girl?

I think it's comparable to Deus Ex - especially Human Revolution. It's probably as deep as Mass Effect mechanically.
I'm not even sure Witcher 3 has systems much deeper. The conversations can be quite in depth and whilst the main story is fairly on rails there's a lot of subtle differences - how you handle some early missions changes how later missions play out fairly substantially at times.
It's more of an RPG than say, FF7 Remake is.

Depends who you want to shag, that's about it.
Also you can kill anyone it allows with little repercussion. Kids and key plot characters are off limits.

Female V has some proper emotion behind her acting and I just feel that V was written as a female, I mean they showcased the game as female V. It felt quite intentional.

Thanks, chaps
Think I'll play as a lady then. If I desperately feel the need to shag an unwilling computer person, I can do it on another playthrough
Downloading now. Excited

Aunt AlisonIn terms of playstyles I think it's really quite varied. I'm trying to think of archetype builds and can think of the usual Stealthy approach / Melee fighter (further delineated using blades or blunt weapons) / Ranged fighter (heavy or light weaponry) builds, but those can also be blended substantially. Then you also need to consider how you use cyberware. Can go full on quickhacking, or can use other Operating Systems to use berserk or slow time. And then other mods can change play styles in subtle ways. And the difference between Tech weapons and Smart weapons is quite nice these days. The skill trees are fairly intuitive too, there's a lot of detail but they flow in a sensible fashion. And I generally dislike skill trees (the og skill trees and talents were miserable)

Really enjoying this now, just restarted from the beginning after beating TOTK and I think that was the right choice. The gigs are fairly simple and similar but the stories around them and the scenarios themselves I'm finding quite engaging too.
The main story also pretty good. Racked up about 30 hours in it now.

Sometimes it's nice to just kill people, you know? Bad people Oh, you'll be spoiled for choice. If anything a totally non-lethal playthrough (were it even possible) would be difficult just because it'd be hard to justify not killing a bunch of the enemies you encounter. Aside from vehicle combat nothing will be different in the base game until it actually triggers and you meet with Songbird—many, many hours in if you haven't been rushing—at which point it grabs the reins from the base game for a while and feels like something very different and separate. Reminded me a bit of going to Mexico in Red Dead Redemption. Anyway I talk too much, you'll see when you get to it.

Cp77 can be completely non lethal right? You can mod guns to make them non-lethal and you can use hack which don't kill.

Cp77 can be completely non lethal right? You can mod guns to make them non-lethal and you can use hack which don't kill. The way I'd put it is that you can make your best effort. You can do both of those things, and you can shoot people in the legs instead of the head, and you can use blunt weapons, and you can rely on status effects like shock or bleeding to knock injured people out, but the game seems kind of fickle with it. Sometimes people seem to take too much damage regardless, or you accidentally shoot them one too many times with a Pax-modded weapon and it kills them anyway, or they fall the wrong way and that does them in. Even if you knock someone out, hiding their body in a trash can or whatever will explicitly kill them. And all that aside, there are more scripted parts of the game (including Phantom Liberty) where you are just straight up going to have to kill people.
So like Johnny says, "People die. It's the way of things."

Heh. Reinstalled this and I was surprised to see that my character no longer wears clothes/armour, and also looks totally different to how I left them!

This is well good. Glad I basically ignored it until now as it seems to run fine and I know next to nothing about it. Only had one noticable bug so far where my hair turned black for some reason (restarting the game fixed it) Great opening. Poor Jackie but it was pretty obvious from the start how that was going to end. Glad it happened sooner rather than later at least. Motion capture and voice acting are so good. Makes the interactions really engaging. Haven't been bothered by the lack of things to do in the city - suits me as I'm not the biggest open world fan (usually because of busy work, which seems absent here, so that's good) and I think it's actually more immersive as you don't go around talking to every person you see in the street hoping they might have something interesting to say anyway. Just hopping in the car and driving to where I need to be is perfect. The city looks amazing though. Probably the first truly current gen feeling game I've played Had a listen to some of the male V's dialogue and it's pretty bad. Female V sounds great though. No contest. Generally the voice acting is top notch so it's a shame that the biggest missfire is one of the protagonists. I've gone with Reflexes, Tech and Cool so far. Don't think I'll bother too much with the netrunner stuff for now (seems like something that will be good to save and play around with in a future playthrough). Guns feel good so I'm going loud The game is really sleazy. Reminds me of the Hollywood/DMP section in Vampire Bloodlines, which is a very good thing. Thought it was going to be jarring having Reeves in the game but enjoying his and V's interactions. He's such a cock. Eat a dick, Johnny!
