I've got myself to just after the heist bit with corpo v a couple of weeks back in prep for this.
Problem is I have fuck all time for gaming and oddly I'm playing fallout 76 ffs

I've done the first bit. Looks nice, lots of talking, wish I could easily play with mouse and keyboard on the big telly. Might have to construct some form of sofa nerd caddy. When my lil lad was an infant and finding time for games was hard I just used a thing from Ikea for my keyboard so I could game in the loungeroom. Some nice quality of life stuff in the update. UI is cleaner especially the telephone mobile phone interface that I don't remember being there when I last played. It has a nice side panel that is loads better allowing you to freely move left and right with a or d and mousewheel up and down text chats or contact list. Seems my Corpo V went down the lobotomised route as I appear to have fuck all intelligence. They've refunded all the perk points but none of the traits so I'm stuck being thick for the time being and most of upgrades I want are in the intel tree. Be warned, its very easy to cause a panic by accidentally 'meleeing' fresh air or whipping your gun out while in the car. Updated phone interface  Beep Beep Motherfucker .... forgot that Delemain fucked my car up. Had to nab one for a joyride.  |

Its a different game now, just about everything is better.
Quicksave and a GTA style cyberpsycho rampage is fun, managed to get to 4 stars wanted before being t-boned by a van full of angry constables in a slo-motion and raytraced blaze of glory.

Had a very quick look this morning. Just wanted to check out RT reconstruction.
I have a 3080 and previously felt that Path Tracing wasn't worth the hit. With ray reconstruction on its a much tougher call though. The FPS hit is significant but my word shiny.
It looks amazing (reflections especially plus everything has more depth) but I'm relegated to QHD with DLSS Quality (from UHD) and framerate is in the high thirties not high fifties. Been a while since I tolerated such a low FPS but it really does look a generational leap forward. Might see if I can adapt to it.
Hopefully they'll be some further performance tweaks between now and when I actually get around to playing the update. Need to finish Starfield first.

I’m about 30 hours in on my first play through. Bought it as a treat on a quiet weekend a few months ago after hearing it had improved and enjoying Edgerunners. So I’m not going to start again from scratch but I’m looking forward to seeing the changes. I’ll be heard you can melee from my beloved motorcycles now?

I've got a save right before the very final mission. Think I'll wait until I've got the DLC and jump back in on some side quests to get the hang of things again.
Question is do I finish it again and make a different choice or same choice or do the DLC then finish the base game?

So I put a few hours into a new save to reorient myself to the new stuff, then went back to my 72 hours space after learning you can do a full respec at a ripperdoc as a one-time thing on a pre 2.0 save. This time I put 9 points into everything to unlock the second tier then brought int, tech and cool to 15 to unlock 3rd tier. They raised the Int level for one of delamain’s endings so this time I went with a different ending, and I’m getting postcards and text catch-ups from the various different cabs touring the world. |

They also seem to have added waaaay more incidental conversations going on around than before. It definitely feels like a much more alive game than before.

 Nice that some of the old mods still work, and that cops actually get annoyed now when you terrorize them. So I tried getting fancy with some of the raytracing shit in this update and the game promptly crashed. Any attempt to reboot it would result in another crash - this time before even getting to the title screen. Ended up having to delete a config file in order to escape this nightmarishly endless cycle of doom and get the damn game running again. It looks absurdly pretty even without RT so I'm not too worried. |

Absolutely absurd car to be had for free in the update. Comes with twin machine guns. Google Quartz Type-66 “Hoon” if you want to find it straight away. Spolier  I'm impressed at the number of vehicles and people the game throws around now, feels really alive.    |

I don't know if it's just my memory playing tricks on me, but I don't remember car windows having this level of reflection before. In fact, I'm pretty sure they were grubby as hell.
