Downloaded the update, and the new set of nVidia drivers to go with it. Played the Corpo intro. Lighting definitely looks improved with the new DLSS. Turning off Motion Blur entirely got me an extra 10 frames per second in the benchmark, somehow?

And the motion blur thing worked for me too. Might actually start playing the game at some point. Cornflakes first though. |

Yeah this is a seriously good looking game now. Playing on S/X and the 60fps bump alone is immense, and yes I know it's been there a while but I did my initial 17hrs or so in the early days and cba starting again when that patch came out ...but have now.

They even seem to have upped the resolution to 1800p on PS5/Series X in performance mode. Looks well sharp.

I sidelined my initial playthrough because my PC wasn't up to snuff at the time so I'm bloody pumped to play this after I knock off tonight.
My TV and monitors are only 1080p so I'm hoping to be able to pump up all the shinies.

You can only suspend belief so far and a Chinese takeaway floating in mid air two feet away from the person eating it, was a step too far.

Started a new play through with the new systems.
To be honest I'd pretty much forgotten what the old systems looked like, but these seem more interesting. And starting from scratch should make it easier.

I'm not far past the prologue, but it has taken me months of finding small chunks of time to get to this point. I might try and persevere for the sake of losing that time, but I have this weird saving bug where the 'saving' animation at the top of the screen is persistent. I can't manually save or load, so am relying on the Xbox's quick resume function to continue to work  I should probably start from scratch again... (And even if some of the immersion is skin-deep in places, it's a much more interesting world to be in compared to slogging on with Starfield, IMO). |

I had the bug at the very first menu screen (saving icon rolling screen frozen) and had to back out to the PS5 menu, close and reboot the game, then it worked.
The perks were straightforward to figure out but there’s a screen with armour values and the cyber ware that’s totally incomprehensible to me. Everything I have in it is legendary tier, which is nice I guess, but it’s a baffling nest of menus and I suspect it would make more sense easing into it from the start.
Also think I’ll wait until the dlc is actually out (and maybe some bug fixes) in case it adds certain stuff into the main game, not just the new area. I did see a car shootout that I could have taken part in but it didn’t seem to work.
It’s possible that the update just doesn’t play nice with very advanced old saves.

Yeah, I can't picture going back to my existing save after 3 years and trying to figure out wtf is going on. I tried that with TW3 and just noped out of it.
Definitely better to ease back into it with a fresh game.

I've done the first bit. Looks nice, lots of talking, wish I could easily play with mouse and keyboard on the big telly. Might have to construct some form of sofa nerd caddy.
