Removing things from a single player game for balance reasons is just daft.

Game of the Year, three years later? Should've been the Day One Edition!

Some games are late bloomers.

But they haven’t even released any DLC, apart from quest fixes and outfits. WHAT

It'll be a complete/definitive/etc. version, with the forthcoming expansion included - a way of getting retail copies for PS5 and XBSX out there, while hopefully (from CDPR's perspective!) drawing a line under the initial disastrous launch once and for all.

I played a few hours, but whenever combat happens or something explodes the audio is getting massively distorted. In general I don't have any problems. Sometimes there is slight crackling, but nothing too bad. But once something "big" is happening it becomes pretty much unplayable.
I have tried all kinds of different audio settings, so unless somebody here has something exotic to offer, I'll probably just uninstall it. Apparently the issue has existed for a while and the last patches haven't resolved the issue. Perhaps I'll come back to it once they have patched it again...

Is that just cp77? Not any other game. First time seeing that issue lol! The game is really eurojank! Something to try Different connection of audio device Different speakers headphones Reinstall of audio drivers Checking if there are any cables touching motherboard Check if gpu power cables are not close to anything on motherboard (even if they are not touching stuff) In that order. You are not connecting audio via your monitor right? That once caused me an issue.

I have tried switching Razer Audio Surround Controller back on and switching to that, but there was a reason I turned that one off. It's just generaly bad from the get-go.
I guess I could try my in-ears. Less than ideal, but would at least be interesting if it helps.
The re-install of the drivers didn't help and it was supposedly up to date anyway.
Can't really check on the cables without opening the notebook.
No, not via the monitor, wouldn't be possible.

Ah. You got notebook. So my idea that a GPU cable touches sound card on motherboard and whenever gpu pushes a lot of power it causes disruption to capacitors is completely bollocks. Well. Good luck!

Thanks!
Will try the In-Ears at least.
Edit: Turned off Blue Tooth and that seems to have helped a little. I'm still getting massive distortion when there are bigger combat encounters, but at least most of the smaller ones are much better now. Odd.

So on other cyberpunk system oddness, I've suddenly got drift on one of the sticks on my ps5 controller.
At first I thought the pad must be going, but it only happens in cyberpunk. It's even linked into my save file, as resetting doesn't fix it.
Interestingly it only started happening when I got drunk (during one of the side quests) which makes me think that some of the randomised movement modifier that makes you stagger about all over the place has got stuck on
I've messed with the deadzones I settings, and lessoned it alot, but can still feel it slightly.
Anyone else heard of such madness?

I have the same thing where I first noticed the cursor in the options was moving by itself and then my character would be walking ever so slowly in game. I had to reset my controller by sticking a paper clip in the hole in the back to get it back to normal.

Also still some regularly reoccuring bugs by the way. Some of it is just physics being wonky, but some of the armed AI also insist on "investigating" burning car wrecks by standing in them. But so far nothing is really a problem outside of the crackling.
Edit: Reactions to gunfire are pretty inconsistent as well. Many people will run away, but I have had quite a few cases where it's being ignored completely or where people at best know that something is going on, but seem to have difficulty connecting the gunfire to the player.
One thing I really like so far is that many seemingly random combat encounters will often result in little stories once you find some information - usually a short conversations - on one of the bodies. And voila: Random combat encounter has turned into something at least a little bit memorable.

Driver AI can be pretty interesting in these kinds of games. When the player crosses the street for instance.
Red Faction Guerilla: "My god, you are in the way and I have to stop, but I'm so upset that I will take it out on all the other NPC-drivers."
Cyberpunk 2077: "If you die it's your own fault."

Tbh there isn't enough traffic on the PS5 to be worried about being run over.

Depends what mode you're using, RT mode has a greater density of traffic compared to performance mode.

Gta somehow managed to make it realistic with touch of *this is a crazy world* They will stop if they can, slow down if they have to avoid collision but also will run over you if they are driving too quickly Since at least vice city. So 18 years. Dunno why cp77 failed at it.

Tbh there isn't enough traffic on the PS5 to be worried about being run over. Yeah, I had to turn down crowds to Low as that seems to be one of the most performance-stunting settings. But the frequency of traffic is still kind of varied.
Well, it came out too early, but considering the size of these kinds of projects... I guess tons of things can go wrong, focus might have been different etc. I'm sure dozens of peoples have made good videos on the why.

To be fair RT in this is far smoother than W3. I play with RT on in this as well.

I think they patched it since the initial RT addition, as it runs much better with RT on PS5 now than I’m sure it did originally.

It's for my money one of the most impressive looking games I've played. Shame that I keep bouncing off it though. I fire it back up every once in a while and wander about looking at how lovely it all is then I put it off.

Cruising through night city, listening to techno with all the neon signs light up is pretty perfect.
Just did the side quest with River about the serial killer. More of that please.

There were many in this thread talking about how boring River and his quest were. That was one of the better, darker, more realistic quests in the game!
