I think you can find it around the time the game really opens up. Like post-hungover diner date with Takemura, it should be available.

Right. It sounds too intriguing to pass up. I'm going to reinstall and investigate tomorrow. Turns out all I need is a serial killer to pique my interest.

It's a beezer of a quest & really quite unsettling, but is a few quests in to his arc if i recall. Nothing to laborious though.
I did his run quite late in and was fairly powerful, so it was a breeze.
Hope you dig it.

Reminded me of LA Noir a bit. The storyline not the gameplay.

I’m quite far into the game and haven’t met him yet.

Have you met the Peralezes? IIRC you meet River through them.

Are they the paranoid politicians? I haven’t done that one yet this playthrough.

Yeah. Very interesting, unnerving story; don't skip 'em.

That's the one I'm on now, I've binned off the main storyline for now just doing these side missions.

V sounds like when Sam Worthington does an American accent. Had to check it wasn't actually him.

Both Vs speak with LA accents and it feels like home to me.

Heh, loved the portal Easter Egg with the Delamain storyline. Hearing that voice again made me smile.
Is there any point to reading those text book other than adding to the lore? If they don't give you extra quests or anything I'll try my hardest not to read every single one.

It's just world building through life, but the game threw so much of them at me that I just stopped reading them.

I never read books in games, but I always make the character read them.

Ignored gigs because they seemed like icon collection, but are they proper side quests? The way the journal has the categories makes it seem like busy work rather than a proper quest.

Most of them are busy work. Go into this place and get this intel sort of stuff. Disappointing after The Witcher III was lauded for not having meaningless fetch quests, but there you go. At least do Dino’s gigs though. They give you one of the best cars in the game. The nomad fixer lady gives you a cool little beater to drive around in also. I think the others give weapons, which are less exciting.

Gigs are mostly the standard open-world one-offs, but I kept at them because combat gets so fun once you're powerful enough, and I also just don't think I was ready to leave the game. And yeah, the goodies can be nice. I seem to remember trying again and again to get RNG to give me a legendary purple revolver in one mission but it wasn't feeling generous.

It's just world building through life, but the game threw so much of them at me that I just stopped reading them. There were too many of them early on, especially since I often picked them up while the main story was going on. But now I mostly read them, at least when it's about something that interests me.

So I have been playing CP77 way more than I should. Really having a blast with it.
It is also my most heavy modded game I have played* since Oblivion.
Playing as Intelligence focused hacker with the goal of just killing stuff from afar. at 3 Body I am super squishy. Which meant first or second mission resulted me in dieing dozens of time, making me hate combat lol.
Now its better. I still cannot get shot too much but at least with shotgun and couple hacks things die if I am not too cocky.
Main storyline is pretty decent but to be honest is not the best. it clearly was rewritten after the game was in production. There is too much Silverhand for my liking.
Doing the Taxi Cab quest now.
SPOILER
Just did the first one and meeting depressed, scared car was hilarious.
also
Driving sucks in a car. need to mod that. so far just modded the bike handling which are now superfun (mostly used Jackie's one. apparently some of the other might still have an issue)
*well. like 40% of my mods are +18 related so for this game it was no brainer to keep installing them.

If you level up enough in intelligence you can potentially become so powerful with quickhacks that you'll never need to enter combat. And having a synaptic accelerator will keep you keep you safe even if someone gets the drop on you.
Cars are definitely a mug's game, for the most part. Scorpion's Apollo is my preferred way to get around. The Kusanagi feels a little harder to handle, but sometimes you just want to ride the coolest bike.

This is true. I more or less never shoot anyone, just walk around pointing my finger of death at large crowds.

So is this worth playing now? I haven't even really thought about it since I cancelled my preorder, but I've seen it for 20 quid and was hoping they'd fixed most of the jank.

ZyrrI'm waiting for the complete edition to launch before I jump in, but Jambo's comments reflect everything I've heard about the current-gen version. If you're still on PS4 or Xbox One, though, I'm not so sure!
