Yeah, Night City just needs the obviously-missing massive underworld of sewers and tunnels, the secret city beneath the city. I’d like to see them build inwards and have stuff inside buildings etc.

They should keep Night City as it is too. It's an amazing setting, to build a new location from scratch would be a complete waste of effort. Just flesh the city out a bit more, add the metro system, more building interiors, etc. Focus all the effort on a good story and side quests, and improving the combat and AI. It'd be a massive shame if they fuck the current city off in favour a whole new one. So many areas of this were designed and never used, they should just do what's already been said and flesh it out with even more locations inside, underneath, on top etc. and blow out the ai to be less dumb

Is it worth doing the side content? Not so much the quests but the pyscho and police stuff? If there's some decent rewards I might give it a go but if it's just icon clearing I'll skip.

Ehh. I think I got a sniper rifle or something for the cyberpsychos. Some of the fixers are worth doing though. Like Dino gives you one of the best cars in the game.

I’ve been heading out on foot as much as possible then clearing icons along the way. I like a lot of the little quests (sneak in and steal data, etc) and even the police scanner encounters.
I’m also struggling to see how you’d ever get enough money to buy anything otherwise. Finally bought a legendary cyberdeck last time. Which I e also had to go from ripperdoc to ripperdoc to even find someone to buy one from. Want to buy some of these nice guns I see for sale next, or figure out where you buy new apartments from.

The apartments should be on the map. Just drive or walk up to them, go inside, and you should be able to buy the apartment from the front desk. Except for the flea motel, which I think you only need to walk up to the room's door and you can pay from there.

I’ll have to peer at the map more carefully. There’s shit all over it at the moment and I was hoping to stumble across things more organically.
It probably means the apartments haven’t turned up in useful places anyway. Given there’s zero reasons to sleep or ever visit your apartment anyway I guess it’s moot.
… I’m not sure what moot means now I think about it.

Yeah, it's just aesthetics/role-playing, really. They don't really add any new functionality your original apartment doesn't already have.

… I’m not sure what moot means now I think about it. "Moot" is an old word for a meeting of the village elders, I think. So a moot point would literally be something to be discussed. The meaning has just changed over the years.

From context I’ve always taken it as “a point that has been rendered redundant at this point”

I checked tonight and they’ve done some good work getting the Ray Tracing setting up to scratch on PS5. The frame rate was terrible before, unplayable, but it was quite smooth when I tried it just now. Wound up going back to Performance mode after a bit though.
I didn’t realise how many side gigs / wee quests I must have missed or skipped the first time I played this. I just did all the quests in the quest log but didn’t actually crawl around the map to every icon like I’m now doing.

The entmoot.
I appear to have upset the po-leece somehow… not long after the heist and upon heading into the Tigers HQ, police nearby started firing on me.

Yes, some of the psycho stuff is interesting as to why they are going haywire. The police stuff, probably less so. I don't remember any of those bits being really that involved though, so if you're passing, might as well.

I restarted playing this again on ps5, despite buying it at launch, and the patches have made it loads better. Only 7 hours in atm.
I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I'm still disappointed in the amount of traffic on the roads, for what's supposed to be a packed over populated city, it's surprisingly quiet when I drive around.
Enjoying the story though, and it does look amazing.

Strangely on series X before the next gen updates there was loads of traffic. Series X was the only console version with its own non back compatible mode and the roads were packed. Now on X it's like all the other console versions.

Weird problem I have with this game: you ever get any clothing mods, can’t seem to buy them anywhere. Not sure if it’s a bug or design oversight or if I’m just missing something here.

Clothing shops should be on the map. Every neighborhood has at least one or two, to reflect the style of its citizens.
Are you sure you haven't changed the settings on the map screen? If you've switched the tabs to just gigs or one particular collectible or something, it'll hide the rest. But the default or all setting should show vendors, apartments, etc.

Also, when buying from a vendor check and see if there is a trade tab. That's where the mods and whatnot hide.
Also, something I keep forgetting you can do with regard to inventory management is sell your shit at the dropboxes. Saves trying to find a vendor.

The UI for the skill tree and mods etc is my only real negative with the game so far.
Just cluttered.

Some more research suggests it was actually patched out deliberately at some point because they decided it was OP. I can, however, get mods from other pieces of clothing now by unlocking a perk in crafting and did that last night. Pretty lame though, I’ve wasted some time going to clothes shops all over the map because I was sure I’d bought clothes mods at a shop before.

Re. clothing mods, just looked at a description of one on the wiki and saw this:
As of Patch 1.6, this legendary clothing mod and all other legendary clothing mods will not appear in any vendor's inventory. As this particular mod was only available via shops, it has effectively been removed from the game.
Which does indeed suck.
