Does anyone know what Rwanda is like? I've heard that there is a plane with loads of spare seats on it so figured it could be a nice cheap break. Apparently it's very safe and a great alternative to the UK. You've been in the UK long enough. Time for Rwanda. Also more people will go to Rwanda instead of the UK if you go.

I've got 2 weeks to interrail before I have to be back, which might be Italy, Switzerland...don't know. Haven't really made any plans and just winging it. He's then got a further 2 weeks and he's planning on being in Amsterdam around the 14th July.

If you do go to Switzerland, don't hesitate to hit me up for tips, one to start: Be aware of how stupidly expensive it is!

We are doing a multi-city trip to Washington DC, New York and San Francisco with the kids as a post exam, pre-University trip we'd talked about for years. Going late July - mid August.
Most stuff in hand but I noticed my UK provider's USA mobile data roaming is costed at £5 per MB!
Any tips on the best option here? Was thinking a burner-sim/phone or two once over there might be an option. Can a non-national tip up at a cellphone retailer and purchase a 1 month deal? Or maybe I've been watching too much Better Call Saul!

Also more people will go to Rwanda instead of the UK if you go. Conspiracy Theory Alert but this is literally how Life On Earth works now, everyone.

dfunked ecosse cheers will do some more homework and see which way will work out. Cutting data from 2 teens may not be the best option for a harmonious holiday!

Well most of you cunts were useless. So far I've put a massive dent in the hire car bumper reversing into a rock some cunt put on the verge in the dark and had a great souvlaki pita for €3.50 followed by a dip in the pool at midnight at 27 degrees.

Reminds me of hiring some scooters in Greece once. Panels were held on with cable ties and the hire place tried to argue that we'd broken them. We pacified them with some England football supporters club cards as proof of ID. Weird.

I’m going to Turkey early August, I’m hoping that it’s nice mild weather. I do not like hot weather

Ouch, I clonked the door of our hire car in Cyprus a few years back, I knew it would cost me the entire £300 odd excess. Only holiday we've really had, paid for out of an inheritance but it was absolutely excellent, kids literally running into the pool at 7pm when we finally arrived on the first day.

Looking to book a 3 night stay in central Bristol next week (Tues - Thurs night), the missus and I and two hyper boys 9 & 13. Travelodges whilst souless just seem super easy and the sprogs think they're 5star so looking at the Bristol Central on Anchor Road as it seems fairly well located and is about £300 all in. The plan is to do something the four of us can do together in the mornings eg the obligatory SS Great Britain, we've done the science museum a few times so not bothering with that, then lunch and then something a bit weirder like karting for just me and the kids in the afternoons as the missus will likely be too exhausted for full days, any suggestions or better hotel ideas? I realise it's a bit vague.

There's some afternoon events as well but I haven't been to those

I have 3 days off this week. I think that's my first time off since Lockdown in 2020... not counting a few days off for new year.
Going to Disneyland... kids super hyped, I'm dreading it. Hours standing in long lines in 36 degree sun. Yay. Still... at least it's time off.

There's some afternoon events as well but I haven't been to those Nightmare! You're just going to miss the Spice Girls Tribute night on Friday! (PS/ I don't remember The Fleece being wall to wall tribute acts ) When I was a kid we always went to the Science Museum and the Ice Rink when we visited. I think the ice rink closed, but there's a new one somewhere. Not been to Aerospace Bristol, but it looks like the Fleet Air Arm Museum and it has a concorde. No idea WTF Wake the Tiger is... but it looks cool. I think there are some boat trips. I always used to like Ashton Court Estate, but I mainly went there for the music festival, so not sure at other times. Wookey Hole caves might be a bit far out of town, but I liked it when I was a kid. Speaking of which, this doesn't work for your dates, but for others who live around bristol: Bristol Film Festival is doing a whole bunch of ace movies at Redcliffe Caves. I'm so jealous!! Princess Bride Indy + Temple of Doom Dark Crystal Labyrinth Fire walk with me etc...

They've just had the balloon festival at Ashton Court, which is a shame as that would have been great to see for you.
