Every time the strap line “the hierarchy of power in the DCEU is about to change” is put anywhere it makes me laugh. I think the Rock is the only person alive still promoting the DCEU.

Most of the films starring The Rock are shite. The Rock? The Crock more like!

I've no idea how it's going to relate to the wider DCEU (which presumably it is, with the whole "hierarchy of power" stuff) but I'm down with it. I think it's more that I like the Justice Society and love the thought of Pierce Brosnan as Dr Fate, than any of the actual Black Adam stuff. Also, with multiple heroes fighting in a team, it does stand a good chance of being a better Justice League movie than Justice League.

DC really are unfortunate, though, in that they keep failing to get their "versions" of characters out in front of movie audiences. It's almost impossible to do Darksied without him looking like a Thanos rip-off to people who've not read the comic; similarly, Fate in this one already looks a bit Strange-y. A Green Arrow movie would have all the usual Hawkeye comparisons. Quicksilver has beaten the Flash to the punch. Pretty much the only "like-for-like" reductive comparison that's in DC's favour is that they got Aquaman out before Namor shows up.

Yeah, that's my thing. The best DCEU was basically a Captain America: First Avenger remake, and everyone loved it. They did their own thing for the sequel, it was bad, and people rightfully trashed it.

You can do the "DC version of Marvels" and get away with it if your product is good, but the bigger problem is that they don't have a consistent vision.

This film is going to be canned at this rate....

He's most likely been paid at least half upfront when he signed on and since he finished shooting paid the final amount. On what basis are Wb going to take him to court for? Are WB going to pay lawyers for multiple court cases?

I could be proved wrong but I can no way see them doing this, to have another public court case in the court of public opinion. Court cases take time, there's already going to be negativity around the release, a court case would add more to it. By all accounts I've read they want to want to be shot of him and are willing to just get him out of the fucking door.
