EGX 2021 does seem to be the Fyre Festival of video games events.
Anyone who bought tickets should get a discount for next year as there's no refunds.

We're still trying to get something put together for a Font Geek expo in late November. At the minute there's one booth and it's essentially Neilka wanking in a shed but we hope to add more soon.

I imagine virtually no-one in the industry was prepared to do a live event this year so bailed early on and there's nothing to fill the void. Correction - IKEA and TikTok are there. Er... I think most people sensibly thought it wasn't going to have much going on and just stayed away, there's no refunds though so if anyone bought a superpass for the whole 4 days I hope they find something else to do for the 3.5 days they've got spare. I read that they announced the schedule close to the wire, essentially fucking over anyone who was eager to buy a 4 day superpass. |
