Maybe he will just say fuck it and go full Geordie
Looked interesting though, as with all things Netflix depends on the writers

Did anyone else's smile drop the moment Zack Snyder's name popped up? It doesn't look bad, but it does look very like a collection of clips ripped out of other popular things (Dune emperors and armies, Star wars lightsabers, Borg queen, Djimon hounsou from Guardians, the droid from Rogue one, Odin voiceover from Thor, Buckbeak from Harry Potter, Flying animal jump from Avatar, etc... I thought I saw Ciri too, but I think I imagined that )

Its like one of those just different enough not to be copyright infringing rip off kids movies like Chop Kick Panda but with a £200m budget. Looks dumb and fun though.

Yeah, I'll probably watch it and there's a decent chance I'll like it, to a degree. But literally every shot reminded me of something else.
It reminds me of my own attempts to be creative, everything just ends up being a blatant ripoff of something better.

That looks surprisingly decent. It's good that they're not sticking slavishly to the anime.
I wonder how they're going to deal with some of the more fantasical elements like Chopper, the big huge enemies, etc.. I also hope they don't do the anime thing of drawing out a single fight over about 2 months, that was what finally killed it for me. It'd be nice to have a show that's basically the key highlights without all the dragged out filler and the need to watch 1000 episodes.
Still, as long as the female characters boobs gradually get bigger and bigger and their outfits gradually get smaller and smaller I'm sure the fans will be happy.

Seems One Piece is actually... good, according to critics and fans (who you'd assume would be quick to voice their displeasure if they didn't like it).

Watched the first two episodes of One Piece last night and it's thoroughly enjoyable, brightly coloured and incredibly silly. Longer episodes than I expected, but they flew by. Not familiar with the anime, so no idea how faithful it is to that.

Its not hard to catch up. There are only 1000 episodes. It starts slowly but it really gets going after episode 842

First episode was fine, hard not to like the lead and the general tone, even for a grump like me. I only have a passing familiarity with One Piece, won't be starting a marathon viewing of the original though

If you've seen Dragonball you're basically familiar with One-Piece.

Noted. I watch a fair amount of Netflix Anime, but those two have never really appealed Vinland Saga, Demonhunter and some of their special animation stuff like Nimona or Cyberpunk are more to my liking.

Zom 100 is pretty fun, if anyone wants to watch an anime on Netflix. I don’t know if it actually counts as a “Netflix anime” per se, as it’s simultaneously airing on Japanese television AND Crunchyroll. Weird to see Crunchy and Netflix share a show simultaneously. It’s currently a week to week show.
The premise is that the protagonist is being overworked and so he begins to hate his job, then suddenly a zombie pandemic hits Tokyo, and rather than going into extreme survival mode like The Walking Dead or The Last of Us, he takes it a chance to create a bucketlist of things to do before he inevitably becomes a zombie himself.
’ve seen some folks online compare it to early covid pandemic era, where people picked up new hobbies to keep themselves sane, and I see that but to me it essentially feels like anime Shaun of the Dead.
Fun watch, if you can handle week to week shows. Of course it’ll all be bingeable in a few weeks if you’d rather wait.

This is the correct response to a zombie outbreak.

I used to love One Piece (fell off at about ch800) so I thought I’d watch the series with my kids. It’s surprisingly violent isn’t it? Good though. The lad playing Luffy is great.

The anime is, well, an anime.. so it shouldn't really be surprising... but for a show marketed at 5 year olds I always thought the violence and pervy stuff was a bit... whatever.

I realise I'm a few months behind the news but just noticed Netflix have axed it's basic subscription, so so now it's either adverts or pay more than I'd like.
Well done.

It's still available here, but I imagine it'll follow suit as they tend to roll out these things region by region.
Basic seems like the plan I'd go for too, so it'll be annoying if it goes. For 50% extra, Standard doesn't seem to be really worth it.

How can BEEF be as good as it is? Next Netflix original series in years.

Hopefully they won't force either the ad-supported plan or the more expensive plan on everyone (yet).

Reptile 6/10 Detective procedural flick, retreads well worn ground TBH. But it's Benicio Del Toro innit. Oozing charisma as always. Well shot and and a ton of atmosphere. Just doesn't do anything special
