The Furbank selection is genuinely worrying. You mean Finn can't just routinely boot the ball across the pitch with no fear of counter attack until Steward is eventually out of position? Then again Care. Underestimate him at your peril. His sniping days are only somewhat over but the rest of his game is still solid. Quins could tempt and sign a better 9 if they needed one, but we don't (................yet. big yet)

If I were Scottish, I'd be more concerned by Care's propensity for sniping around rucks and scrums than I would've been by anything Mitchell or Spencer can offer in attack.

Honestly amazed he's starting, his box kicking is not up to Soylent Brown's standards.*

Hopes:
Ireland vs. Wales - a 3-3 draw Scotland vs. England - an entertaining and close game, with England winning eventually France vs. Italy - Italy winning, just for the shits and giggles
Expectations:
Ireland vs. Wales - a comfortable victory for Ireland Scotland vs. England - Flying Spaghetti Monster knows France vs. Italy - a comfortable win for France

Your hopes are right up there with me being sexy to anyone, the Tories being elected again at the next election, and the planet being inhabitable in 100 years.
Expectations: Scotland will bounce us in a close game, at home, in a fixture they've been happy with since 2017(?). The others are correct

I think that's about the sum of it. Definitely more in hope than expectation. A close Scotland win would be something of a moral victory these days. Sad scenes.

Ireland vs. Wales is going pretty much as expected: 17-0 to the hosts, with five minutes left in the first half.

31-7 in the end - no real surprise there.

Head says narrow Scotland victory on form. Heart is a Scotland blow out win by 20. Arse is the second half against Wales but magnified.

That's not a try is it? I don't get why it wasn't even discussed. Has the rule changed?

An interesting first half.
Scotland will need a better second half than they managed against Wales and France. (Still think they'll win, though.)

Per the laws:
So I think the try was fine. (To be honest, though, I thought the same thing as you at first.)

Actual thoughts on th half. England looked dominant in possession, penalties, scrum etc. but the attack is still a bit blunt isn't it?
Scotland just god the handling errors. But put it through Tuipuluto and Jones hands a couple times and you get magic.

England beating themselves at the moment. Vam Der Merwe was great but he shouldn't really be getting those opportunities.
As per the last couple of games there gave been passages where I've thought we've looked a very decent side. We've been on the front foot and decision making has been fairly good. Execution is the issue. Don't deserve to win if you make lots of fairly basic errors.

One thing that gets me is that it often seems like the English pop passes are unnecessary drilled into a teammates chest. Maybe that's what they're coached to do for disguise but it must make handling errors more likely.

Well the match started well for England but it's certainly going to take something special to turn this around.
