You think England are getting back into the game and France score again.

Mitchell has improved things, but then Dupont does a Dupont.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That's daylight robbery. I fucking love shit like that.
Also what's the point of Freddie Steward? I'm genuinely still baffled by how much the ITV commentary seem to think he's the second coming.

They may as well throw in the towel with 20 minutes left.

Yeah I'm done with this. Well done France, give us 12 months, maybe 36 months and we might be able to give you a game.
Embarrassing.

Owen carried 3 French forwards over the line. His own though.

Don't worry about the World Cup, England will get to a semi-final as the draw has been 100% bullshit.

Jesus, if France can't win the WC with this team, they never will.

I'm so not hyped by our prospects that I've not even looked at the draw. Can France do their traditional 'heroically beat the All Blacks and then lose the next game' thing again?

Jesus, if France can't win the WC with this team, they never will. Well the main competition is Ireland. But the pool stages are a joke. New Zealand, France are in a group on one side, on the same side is a group with Ireland, Scotland, South Africa. So that's top 5 teams all playing against each other up to the semi finals. So only 2 get through. To play 2 of England, Argentina, Japan, Wales, Australia. No offence to Japan but Italy are better, Wales are shit, Australia are bat shit. So England are comfortably getting into the semis. Though in fairness, Fiji are also on that side so might surprise us all.

Doesn't feel that long ago I was watching us win the Six Nations in Paris by swatting aside Paris.
If there's hope, it's that there's no reason we can't win the 2027 World Cup. Well up for that. Come on England!!!

C'etait fantastique!
Not so much for England, though (and that's a *big* understatement). They were absolutely atrocious.
From the starting 15, only Steward emerged with much in the way of credit; off the bench, Mitchell looked like a big improvement at 9. Otherwise, I'm struggling to see the positives.
I hope this isn't used as justification to reinstate Farrell to the 10 shirt for the final round, but I think it will be.

I don't think Steward was great, by any means, but he had more oomph than the rest of the starters combined.

I don't think Steward was great, by any means, but he had more oomph than the rest of the starters combined. Ah fair, the way the commentators go on about him I keep expecting something electric. As I never really watch the Premiership. He's very solid under the high ball, which for some people that seems to be the only job of a fullback. But he just catches it and runs relatively slowly into traffic. He can kick it far but I didn't notice him particularly manipulating anything. I'd expect a fullback to also have footwork, speed, some skills at distributing etc. Yknow like Ramos showed, or Hogg or Keenan or Barrett. It's all very Halfpenny, Mike Brown era fullback.

Also fair - from what I've seen of him, he's by no means a flair player. Just a solid workhorse type in the Brown mould.

Yeah I just feel like having workman like back line players doesn't entirely cut it at the top of international rugby. Unless you're physically dominating a team you need some backline class to exploit the small opportunities you get. Even South Africa who rely on steamrollering people into the mud always have some absolutely electric wingers there for when it's on. Here comes Skelator and Wilkinson to polish a turd. Fucking ITV commentary. I continue to not get the Steward thing. Mate you cant polish that with gold leaf, Mr Sheen and the cum from the Ark of the Covenant Wilkinson gave it a good go, that they had to go through this to learn to be the best or some bullshit.
