I'm not sure a plan based around rattling Finn is a good one, considering he'll have a grin on his face no matter what's going on. Seems based on his old reputation about reliability, which hasn't been that true for a while. Same for the kicking game where they just kicked everything at Steyn and Duhan, like the Lions hadn't happened where Duhan actually became very reliable under high ball. |

I'll go a step further and say it was bloody stupid. Finn can fall apart on his own and doesn't give a shit about Farrell doing the ol' shoulder. So we just opened up massive holes in the line. Finn wasn't having a *great* game overall bar a bit of a purple patch, and it's not like we were sending 2017-19 Lawes at him to shut him down. Plus 'target the playmaker' being a new thing to him is laughable. |

I reached a point of indifference a while back, every win was tempered by that fact it justified the coach’s and RFUs bullshit, any optimism I had for the Borthwick era has been dashed in record time. It's fucking annoying that the only 10 allowed to play with actual centres is the one that, when asked to play centre, spends most of it trying to play an imitation of an international 10 dreamed up by chatGPT at the expense of genuinely exciting/excellent 10s.
That said, Willis starting, two actual centres, looking past Manu, Arundell on the bench, no Youngs. It's not all horrid.
(Let's ignore Mako, Cole, Isiekwe. I'm not sold on the wings either)
