Great work from Scotland, and worth watching in the end.
I saw Toonie smile at one point! Didn't even know he possessed the requisite facial muscles, but he deserved it.
France vs. Scotland in two weeks' time is looking like an interesting fixture.

I am now quite hungover having enjoyed that second half from Scotland. Wales tried the old Gatland thing of pulling the whole match down to a horrible arm wrestle, but they only really pulled that off during Turner's yellow.

I dont think warrenball works like it used to with the current rules, it’s a shame england haven’t read the same memo as France, Scotland etc

Yeah he feel's like yesterday's coach nowadays. Lions coach in 2025 obviously.

Woodward: "he can show the world what a great 10 he is"
On-screen statistic: "37% of games Farrell started at 10 were losses"

Farrell is butchering this with stupid kicks in the 22. We've only scored when he isn't involved in the play.
Willis is a monster

I wish they’d stop zooming in on his cumface before every conversion attempt. We look shit going through phases, but the new lads are showing some class in loose play. Can’t wait for Smith to come on so farrel moves to 12 to really grind things to a halt

I really don’t see what you’re supposed to gain by changing the fly half after 70 minutes and moving the other out of position, just mind boggling

And sending your IC one further out. Just disrupts everything.
Smith looked totally clueless, again. Kicked his one bit of possession away and promptly fell off three tackles in the aftermath. Less opportunity to wander around aimlessly while Farrell played 10 than last week at least.

That was a turgid affair, especially the second half, and the scoreline flattered England.
Why Farrell thinks he can pull off those Danny Care-esque kicks in behind the defence, I've no idea; why he thought that it'd eventually work, after it failed the first few times, is equally baffling.

10 minutes left, Italy are getting a head of steam, we want to do a typical england shithouse and slow things down and grind down the clock - let’s send Marcus Smith on to do that shall we

It's because he can't actually run an attack. KADAB it and it's the wingers' fault

I’m not used to Scotland winning this many games. Very 5 Nations of us. Indeed. Apparently it hasn’t happened since 2006! Scotland haven’t put together a complete performance yet, and we’ll have to if we want to beat either France or Ireland. Having said that, the monkeys on our back are falling off rapidly. The Twickenham hoodoo is history now we have won there with fans as well as without them, and we’ve beaten a Wales side coached by Gatland. We won in Paris last time out, and we’re due a win v Ireland, though I can’t see us getting one. The next two games are crucial to show us whether we have any chance whatsoever of getting out of our group at the RWC. We have to play Ireland and SA, and I can’t think of two games we are more nailed on to lose, and that includes NZ.

There's reason to hope, which I am very, very suspicious of, as I can remember all the miserable post 1999 years.
France have actually demonstrated a certain amount of sloppiness relative (passes going to ground, interceptions) to last year and Scotland have done well against basically the same set of players on occasion. Then again Finn's got to go back to France to play this weekend and I'm worried someone from Brive will just shiv him.
Ireland, dunno, but we are at home and considering the insane World Cup group we have to work out a way to beat them now. But if we pulled this one off and not Paris then Ireland, Scotland, France would all be going in to the last weekend with 4 potential victories and we'd have Italy...
Way too soon to dream though.

Ben Youngs has once again been omitted from the England squad, this time for the Wales match: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/64724025Surely his international career is over now? Good for England, if so, but bad for Leicester - I've been following both Tigers and Quins since Wasps bit the dust, and he really shat the bed against Saracens on Sunday. (Repeatedly, at that.) Elsewhere, Hassell-Collins is out injured, so Murley might be in with a shot for his first international cap. Thoroughly deserved, if so. Of course, all this will be well and truly moot if the game is cancelled due to the Wales players being on strike, and a decision is due to be made on that score sometime today.

The WRU are absolutely Youngs'ing it atm. You'd have thought they would want to reduce publicity after the abuse reports.
Other pleasing omissions from the Wales squad: Earl Hill
