Well, today's been shit.
At least there were some positives. Nice to see us go through phases again.
Just far too many basic errors. 5th at best if we play like that all tournament.

Maybe hanging on to a dickhead coach you’ve inexplicably contracted for the next 10 years and only sacking him at the 11th hour for a rushed replacement wasn’t the best decision from the RFU

I enjoyed that - first international I've watched in years, due to my distaste for Eddie Jones, and it didn't disappoint.
Scotland deserved their win.
I doubt we'll ever see Smith show his Quins form as long as he's shackled by having Saint Owen at 12, sadly.
Dombrandt, on the other hand, was more like his usual self.

The repeated, rubbish, attempts at smother tackling instead of a more conventional legs tackle were especially annoying. Seems like they've been coached to do it, but evidently they can't.

Then again, England should be able to beat Italy with any 10-12 combination to which Borthwick has access, so next weekend will probably include another rerun of the Smith-Farrell partnership. |
