Something that really bugged me in Bloodbourne the last time I played it was the layout of some areas makes no sense. Have a look around Yharnam and you'll see buildings in the background with doorways literally with fences right across the front of them. It's really weird. And the Unseen Village is just stairs leading to stairs. leading to more stairs
I'd still put it second after DS2 though
Sekiro was fun (finished it 3 times back to back) but I don't care for the setting so lost interest when the challenge was gone. It's not very replayable

Dark I first place and Demon’s second place so far
Although I voted Demon’s I agree with that, DaS improved on the DeS formula so much

I went Bloodborne because it's objectively the best game to me, but I am more attached to Dark and Demon's. The order changes depending on which one I played last

1. Demon's Souls 2. Dark Souls 2 3. Dark Souls 4. Bloodborne 5. Sekiro 6. Dark Souls 3 Never been on board with the Dark Souls 2 hate. I sort of get it, but there are large chunks of Dark Souls that are less enjoyable to play. And the DLC is superb. All are great in any case. DS3 in last place would still be 8/10. I love to rag on it, because it has some big glaring flaws, but overall I think I've put more time into II than anything else. I own 3 versions of it and I believe I've platted them all, plus with the DLC included it's HUGE (don't like poison DLC much tho). Also Powerstancing Greatswords/Greatclubs/Any other ridiculously big weapon is one of those ProGamerMoves and everyone should try a run doing that. You will be naked apart from your rings, but slamming monsters into next week > dignity Getting a faint urge to have a spin on it...Do it! DO IT! Yeah, its flaws are obvious but I just became besotted with it - it's the only one I've platinumed, I just wasn't ready to leave Drangleic.

The correct answer is either Dark Souls or Bloodborne, but I voted Dark Souls 3 as it's the one I enjoy the most and have put the most hours into. Sekiro last.

I went for DeS, as the remake is currently the pinnacle of these games for me. If Blue Point remade DaS with the same quality of life improvements then it would definitely be back on top as I think it's the better game, overall.
Never played DaS2, so I have no opinion either way.
Really enjoyed DaS3, maybe as much as BB. Never actually finished BB though, can't remember why I moved on. I should really go back to it as it's a great game with great atmosphere, but I'm sort of holding out in the hope of a PS5 update (which I know is probably never coming).
Sekiro is dead last. I just didn't get on with it and gave up fairly early on. Maybe I should have given it more of a chance to get its hooks in me, but time is precious and I'm not getting any younger so I don't tend to stick with games that aren't doing it for me.

I think DS1 for me. Never played much of Demons on PS3 though and am just starting it on PS5 so can't make a call on that yet. BB was absolutely amazing, but I'd hit my skill ceiling as far as difficulty went, never attempted the DLC on it. Despite knowing that DS3 is a better game than DS2, I still prefer 2. Something about the third one just never clicked with me. Gave up on Sekiro maybe six hours in, didn't like the countering - felt like playing rock/paper/scissors mid-fight. From games are normally open-ended in how you approach things, Sekiro was 'learn to play this way, or fuck off'. So I did.

Would be amazing, needless to say. Their work on Demons's Souls is just incredible.

I don't see it tbh, especially since DS1 got a remaster for last gen anyway. Not to mention the fact it's quite a bigger project than Demon's. It would be amazing mind you, just unlikely.

I think its probably DS3 as its the most polished. A BB remaster where they sorted the camera and other jank out would probably be the best of the lot, though.
My favourite soulslike is Nioh 2, though.

Dark Souls was my first and the only one I’ve actually completed. Plus it took me a couple of years of putting it down and coming back to it and grinding all on a single save so I really lived it too.

3 is definitely the series at its mechanical best, though lore wise if you care about that kind of thing it's very lacking.

My favourite soulslike is Nioh 2, though. I wouldn't mind trying that, but I found the original harder than any Souls game I've played. I gave up at the harpy thing that threw needles at you, think it was only the fifth boss proper?

Tbh, I dont really see much difference between them all and done really care that much about it. Wander around for a bit, fight a boss.
I know everyone raves about 'the world' but youre just dropped in it and drip fed tidbits of information. Ive finished all of them but couldnt tell you what any of them were really about bar possibly DS3 and even then it would be a vague one liner.

Three felt like a big pile of fan service. No bad thing and it was a good send off (particularly wrapping up with the Ringed City DLC). The combat always felt slightly off to me, big weapons lacked some heft imo.

I love all the Soulsborne but I’ve never played Nioh at all
Is it mechanically similar to Souls or is it more of a Ninja Gaiden type thing?

I got really into the first Nioh but was pretty disappointed with the sequel and lost interest pretty early on. They didn't seem to fix any of the issues from the first game and took away the level gimmicks which robbed the levels of any identity they had. 2 just felt like a samey grind, never looked forward to the next level after finishing one
I have practically no interest in fantasy settings or dragons or any of that (or DS lore) but I did like exploring the game worlds, just finding hidden places and items

I love all the Soulsborne but I’ve never played Nioh at all Is it mechanically similar to Souls or is it more of a Ninja Gaiden type thing? The combat is much faster and more responsive. You're more in control of combat and have more abilities at your disposal. The loot is randomised (as far as I know) and is more like Diablo with random-arse stats everywhere so you'll be changing equipment a lot (if you can be arsed to wade through everything you hoover up) so you won't get as attached to your equipment like Dark Souls. Random loot alao makes exploring a little pointless as there aren't many unique items to find
It is really fun to play though

I haven't played Nioh 2 yet and will probably pick up the Remastered collection down the road as I'd like to try it. I really enjoyed Nioh 1 though, except the flying boss lady who was a brick wall for me for quite some time. Once I'd got past her I don't think I had a problem throughout the rest of the game.
As for soul-likes, I'd give a special mention to The Surge and The Surge 2. I loved both those games, the combat is actually pretty damn good and the futuristic settings are a nice change of scenery. There's a decent amount of weapons to master, different armours and some really unique and interesting bosses too.

Its definitely right to call it a soulslike but its completely designed around the combat system, like ninja gaiden. Its sharper, tighter and generally much better to play than the souls games. It does, admittedly, lose out on the overworld stakes, though. But, all in all, its great. They were my most played PS4 games by a considerable distance. Also, if you are a Ninja Gaiden fan, its kind of a soft prequel.

Yeah it's basically Ninja Gaiden with a souls type progress system.

The combat always felt slightly off to me, big weapons lacked some heft imo. There was too much Bloodborne infused into DS3 for me. I still like it, and I obviously love Bloodborne, but it meant DS3 was this weird hybrid to play, and there were parts like Irithyll, Demon Ruins etc that looked straight up lifted from Bloodborne and didn't really have much in keeping with the aesthetics of Dark Souls imo. Still great, just not as good.

Have to say as well that from a technical point of view, it's much better than anything From have put out. Attacks (player or enemy) will not go through walls. From still haven't sorted that out
Never understood people saying it's never the games fault in From games. Plenty of jank there. Nioh feels much more fair and you can see enemy ki (stamina) as well so they can't cheat. It's cool
