Look above! Crikey, we have polls on this here glorious new forum. So come on then, let's be having you slaaaaaags. What's your favourite FROM Soulsbornekiro™ game and why? Obviously, Elden Ring is not on the voting list, as it's not out until early next year (hurry up!).
Be sure to vote in the poll so you/we/me can have a little cry when our favorite doesn't come out on top!
Guess I should start as I'm creating the bloody thread. So after careful consideration, given how good From's games are, I voted Bloodborne. I just love all that crazy Lovercraftian horror stuff in general anyway and you can, perhaps somewhat ironically, get lost down a rabbit hole of thinking about all the crazy concepts around cosmic horror. Elder God's, tentacle face monsters, dreams within dreams, eyes upon eyes, complete and utter uncompromising madness.
Bloodborne was just a tour de force of some of the best of Lovecraft's twisted creative visions, combined with a top game to boot! Great controls, music and sound, brilliant enemy design, level design & art design. It had/has top notch combat, multiple build options and even the potential for never-ending-Bloodborne with the procedural Chalice Dungeons. The bosses were hands down the most exciting of any of From's games, from the early encounter with Father Gascoigne to the maniacal Bloodletting Beast, Vicar Ameila and my favorite, the tentacled monstrosity that was Ebrietas Daughter of the Cosmos. Their tormented, angry screams and outright savagery in combat almost made my heart feel like exploding on many an occasion, you really had to be on your toes with this lot.
The biggest downsides to Bloodborne are found in some of the more technical aspects of the game, with a poor framerate and noted frame-pacing issues, we can but hope Sony might grace us eventually with an update including a silky-smooth, ironed out, 60fps patch. I'm not convinced we need a remake yet or indeed at all, a simple remaster of the original would do and then I'd rather they focused resources on a sequel if it's to happen.
Honorable mentions: It used to be that Demon's was my favourite, but that may have been rose tinted glasses. I'm yet to play the PS5 remake, but I'll give it a go at some point. I do remember things that could be annoying that were essentially fixed by the later Souls games, like the lack of Estus flask, checkpointing via bonfires, and confusing world tendancy.
As mentioned the other day in the DS2 thread, I think that has climbed my list somewhat as a very enjoyable Souls game (yeah, yeah I'm nuts...). All I know is I had great fun on it and it was notably super active; I don't think I've ever been invaded as much as in DS2 and most people were quite nice, even giving me gifts, before smashing my character to a pulp.
DS1 is of course a classic, but I need to replay it as I don't remember it too well having not touched it for years, and DS3 was decent and would be up there too having only last year finished the final dlc and crazy hard boss that a was Darkeater Midir.
Poor old Sekiro would be bottom. I don't entirely despise it as much as some here and might even give it a go again at some point, but let's be honest, it could have given the player way more build options than "default Ninja", given the source material. If Nioh could do it, so could Sekiro. Those twitch counters too... Gah, some of us are getting on a bit and just need a big shield to hide behind, right?
So there it is, there's some of my thoughts. What say you my fellow From fans?
tl/dr: I voted Bloodborne 😉.

Ooh that’s a tough decision - between Demons, Dark I and Bloodborne for me. Sekiro would have to be at the bottom of the list as it’s missing so many elements of what made the others great

Dark Souls for me, as it was my first. I missed Demon's Souls when it first came out and picked up Dark Souls on release as I'd heard about this legendary PS3 game that was kicking everyone's arses and wanted to see what the fuss was all about with the "sequel" made by the same developers.
Honestly, if there is one game that I wish I could wipe from my memory and experience for the first time all over again it would be Dark Souls. Playing at release, nobody had a clue what was going on, nothing was really explained in game, and puzzling everything out along with everyone else on the internet was like nothing I had experienced before. I still remember the first time I got invaded in the Undead Burg (terrifying) and the first time I took down the Gargoyles.
I was obsessed for months, watching EpicNameBro's lore videos on YouTube, trying to piece everything together. Nowadays there are guides everywhere, and nothing really left to discover. Even Vagrants have been totally figured out, and people speedrun the game with guitar hero controllers, so the magic is gone. But for those first few months after release it was glorious.
My favourite game of all time, until Persona 4 Golden took over the number 1 spot when I played it last year.

Dark Souls III for me. As much as everyone loves the interconnected world of the first, I've got a really shit sense of direction and still get lost. Demon's Souls a close second though as it's atmosphere is still unmatched I reckon. Playing through it again on the PS5 though I never realised how much shorter it is than the games that followed.

Polls. Howay!! We truly are the From of forums.
On topic gotta be DS for me. What a fucking majestic game. Just finished it yet again and loved every second. Well apart from Dark Gwendolyn, she can fuck right off with her massive church.

Overall, probably Dark Souls. But Sekiro is the only one you have to actually learn and become skilful to beat. Demon's Souls is best for ganking noobs in world 2.1 with a low level character using a +5 Dragon weapon. Blupoint made a fantastic remake on ps5 that is still a twink's paradise. But they do lose points for the woke bullshit of replacing male and female with 'body type A' and 'body type B' in character creation. Erasing differences in sex is satanic bullshit that should be called out. Did you get kicked out of the TA for wanking in public, so you had to resort to shitting up the forum instead?

HE can fuck right off with HIS massive church! Indeed, although there is a degree of ambiguity with Gwyndolin, from the Fextralife Wiki: "Although born male, due to magic and association with the moon, Gwyndolin was raised as a daughter but is biologically a male and is referred to as such from Gwynevere who lovingly calls him brother."

Dark Souls is my #1, but they all have their moments. Even DS2 with that boss fight that you could make a bit easier by lighting the torches in other rooms. Stoked for Elden Ring

Shamefully I've only played Bloodborne which I think I'm enjoying, but despite the hours I've put in, still don't really understand anything and can't get over the feeling of dread every time I venture into a new area.

Never been on board with the Dark Souls 2 hate. I sort of get it, but there are large chunks of Dark Souls that are less enjoyable to play. And the DLC is superb.
All are great in any case. DS3 in last place would still be 8/10.

Went with Demon's as the remake is the only one I've finished (and to be fair Dark Souls 1 is the only other one I've played) but I've got a craving to do the rest so have Bloodborne and Dark Souls Remastered on my backlog.

1. Dark Souls (the first time is special) 2. Bloodborne (loved the change of pace) 3. Demon's Souls (played it second to Dark Souls, eager to check the remake if I manage to bag a PS5) 4. Dark Souls 3 (some really memorable bosses) 5. Dark Souls 2 (sorry wunty, still a great game, just falling short of awesomeness) 6. Sekiro (I still cannot get the hand of it, hopefully it will click for me)
Have to admit that positions 1,2 and 3,4 are really close for me and could be reversed...

Thing is. It's hard to do a list, because the actual quality of the game doesn't reflect the game I actually enjoy playing the most and go back to time and again.
So I'm doing two fucking lists. Saddle up.
List 1 - The order in which I personally rate them in terms of how much I enjoy playing them:
Dark Souls 2 Bloodborne Dark Souls Dark Souls 3 Demon's Souls Sekiro
List 2 - The order in which I think they should be in terms of how groundbreaking, memorable and influential they are:
Dark Souls Demon's Souls Bloodborne Sekiro Dark Souls 2 Dark Souls 3

DS2 Scholar of the First Sin
It has the most variety in locations of all From games, and just gets better as it goes on. The DLC areas are some of the best in the series. DS1 goes downhill after Anor Londo. DS3 feels quite samey throughout
A lot more interacting with the environment - The windmill blades, using souls of enemies to activate doors in Dranleic Castle, shattering the ice at Eleum Loyce, restarting the machinery in Brume Tower, etc. The DLC areas almost feel like Zelda dungeons in some respects
The best story. You actualy meet Vendrick, Nashandra and Aldia, plus visit the past in memories to really help connect with the world
It looks the best. Stick the King's armour set and Zweihander on in DS2, and Drang armour and Zweihander in DS3, and compare. DS2 is so much more detailed and the material is actually textured. DS3 armour looks like it's made of rubber and the sword just has a blotchy metallic texture on it
Feels like it has more secrets and hidden stuff than the other games
Powerstancing! DS3 has some token dual wielding weapons but it's nowhere near as good
I like the Adaptability stat. It gives you a way to invest stat points in a no shield/agility build. Makes sense to speed up Estus as well as if you get hit, you're likely to take more damage with lighter armour. Feels like more of an investment in the playstyle
Shrine of Amana - one of my favourite From areas. The Milfs sing to keep the fish things docile so they won't attack. But carry a torch, which you'll want to so you can see your footing and not fall into the deep water, and they'll aggro. It just feels so dynamic with the environment, enemies and NPCs interacting in such a cool way
Plenty more besides but I think I've made a case for it

I love to rag on it, because it has some big glaring flaws, but overall I think I've put more time into II than anything else. I own 3 versions of it and I believe I've platted them all, plus with the DLC included it's HUGE (don't like poison DLC much tho). Also Powerstancing Greatswords/Greatclubs/Any other ridiculously big weapon is one of those ProGamerMoves and everyone should try a run doing that. You will be naked apart from your rings, but slamming monsters into next week > dignity Getting a faint urge to have a spin on it...

Shrine of Amana was indeed lovely, and deceptively deadly, coupled with that truly mesmerising and beautiful Milf song: m.youtube.com/watch?v=MZMwOszjCFU. I did a bit of powerstancing too and it was great fun, it really prioritises attack as your best defence, and smashing things in the face with two big weapons really is satisfying (ooer).

I've yet to play DS3 and Sekiro, but even with the reduced number of games I still find it impossible to choose my favourite. They all are excellent in different ways but fall down in something small. Demon's - Unmatched atmosphere but slightly archaic and obtuse design. Dark - The best interconnected and fascinatingly vertical world, but then loses that brilliance in the last third. Dark II - So much build versatility and content but has some rubbish bosses and sections too. Bloodborne - Is obviously the best in so many ways, however it never has the Ash Lake/Anor Londo moment of 'WOW', instead it is very consistent in its grim horror (which is exactly how it should be of course), which means I can't personally call it best either. So they are all the best. FromSoftware wins. Lords of the Fallen is the worst, and I still really enjoyed that! So what have I got to experience still? DS3, Sekiro and Elden Ring, Nioh & Nioh 2, The Surge and Surge 2, Ashen, Remnant, Hellpoint, Mortal Shell and Code Vein. I think that's all the 3D Souls-likes? How am I so damn slow?!
