Speaking of Wraps. Seems to have been forgotten pretty quickly by MS. No new colours or designs since launch despite saying they sold well. Extreme Consoles seem to have taken up the mantle on that one. www.extreme-consoles.co.uk/smartwraps

You could recreate the experience of playing with the Ghostbusters HQ toy from the 1980s by pouring slime through the vents on the top of the Series X.

I had that. The slim was pretty easy if you just made a ball and rolled it over the rest.
Such a great toy.

Those wraps look like something you'd cut out of a cereal packet!

Just decided to splurge on a decent 27" 1080p IPS monitor to replace the shitty-ass, cheap 22" LCD TV with horrendous viewing angles from who knows how many years ago (it had a coaxial audio out, just saying) that my landlord had left in the apartment. It was so shitty, I didn't even want to use it. Even the PSP looked better from an angle. And the one I had in my previous house also sucked, not to mention the room was far too hot for playing games with headphones on, so I usually didn't bother with it (I was too close to the main highway so it was basically headphones or nothing).
Also paired the new monitor with a cheap stereo soundbar, but still much better than the monitor speakers so I don't have to use headphones anymore. After a tough year sticking to the laptop, it's a pleasure to be back to playing console games on some decent setup. Definitely gonna make use of it, though not necessarily with newer games. I have all the old Splinter Cells lined up, as well as Assassin's Creed 4.
... and I just realized, coming from two years of Game Pass and another full year without using the console at all, just how barren my XS library is. Lots of 360 and several Xbox One games, and one or two XS titles like Metro Exodus and Death's Door, but that's more or less it. Need to catch up at some point. I'll have a gander at what's on sale next week.

Stalker Trilogy out now in Xbox, as a pack or each game individually. Intrigued how they have ported something's so PC centric (and janky) to console.

Odd that it is showing £33.50 for the Stalker bundle and 9.99 for each of the 3 games?

I need a tech review before I drop any money on this. It was a fiddly beast back in the day and the antithesis of user friendly.

Well that was decidedly ‘mid’. A bunch of poor looking rehashes and a gamut of B tier 3rd person action rpgs. It’s not what I bought a series X for that’s for sure. Monster Jam Showdown? Are you shitting me? Frostpunk 2 might be ok but I never really got on with the first one. Colour me underwhelmed.

This is when the 4 games to PS/Switch was originally supposed to be revealed. The leak forcing them to come out early took away what would have been the big talking point. Still they announced Sinking City 2 which is enough for me.

Kunitsu-Gami looks nice though!

I thought it was pretty solid. Alters looks interesting. Possible a little convoluted, but a base builder and exploration game rolled into one could be good!
I do think some of these game titles are off though. I know we’ve had decades with of book, film and game titles, but we seem to be entering another era of titles that do not mean anything or stand out. They all just blur together.
Like that Aveum(?) game. I can’t even remember what that was called. Haha.

Unity: Decorum of Trust Camouflage of Disgust: Reqium Sceptical Orion Sentients of the Midnight Light Farnarius Magic: Lost Love Sudden Aeris Qualms of Astoria
It’s actually quite difficult coming up with these kinds of terrible names.

MS to finally kill off the MS rewards app
Don't expect anything better to replace it, the one via rewards tab is barebones

I’ve not been able to open the console rewards app the last couple of weeks, getting the ‘update location’ message.
I too suspect that it’ll be another chance to nerf the points again. I’ve done well out of it though, got over 5 years of Gamepass so far and a lot of games using points on the wife’s account. I’ve spent next to nothing on Xbox in the last 5 years. No surprise they’ve made changes.

They increased the amount of points needed to get £5+ rewards cards now
because of rewards I would play more games on xbox rather than my ps4. They slowly killed Games with Gold and then slowly killed rewards and gamers clapped like mindless seals and defended with "well..... its been crap for ages!" they really don't get how companies slowly kill a product or service so there is less kick back

Microsoft’s new Xbox Development Kit spotted Probably just for the rumoured discless Series X, but surely a discless Series X wouldn't need a new SDK? I'm really tempted by the PS5 Pro but if it turns out Microsoft have went insane and are making a pro console I'll be there for that instead.

In addition to increasing the points necessary, they’ve massively reduced the points you get in the Xbox app for playing Bejewled and PC games. In addition to the nerfing of Bing rewards from a year ago or so. Them killing these reward offers while aggressively forcing Edge and CoPilot usage really kill my want to use MS products.

I'm amazed it took them so long to clamp down on the play a PC game with friends one. Sitting in an AOE II lobby for half an hour was an easy 250 a day IIRC with bonus points (plus the other points for playing a pc game and using the app)
It's just not worth bothering with points at all now, which has made me less likely to just jump on and play a quick GP game. Well done MS!
