Does having a game on quick resume add to hours played?

I’m in the top 15% of players with 385h hours, but my Xbox friends list is less than 20 people these days, so I don’t think it’s that. It reckons I’ve played 35 games though, which probably means I was logged in when the partner was playing something on their account? Which in turn might be inflating my playtime further?
Confusing.

Oh wait, that might be it - My "home" console is set as the kids' console upstairs, so it's probably adding that into the mix and counting 2 lots of use.
That said, Apex/Fortnite would be showing as top games rather than FIFA... Hmmm.

Wow hadn't realised how much my xbox had gathered dust this year.
1) Sea of stars. 32 hours. OK game.
2) Hi Fi rush. 13 hours. OK game.
3) Starfield. 11 hours. Not very good game.

What are the load times like for Xcom 2 on Series X? They were really bad on PS (and got worse the more you played) I don't remember them being too terrible, so I guess.. not bad? I do remember the game just completely crashing out on a number of occasions though. |

On the subject of "time played", Xbox has now done their own Year in Review thingie, and it's giving different results to True Achievements.  Mind you, this sort of thing has always been a bit daft. I don't know how they calculate it. According to True Achievements, one of my most-played Xbox games of all time is Killer Instinct, which I think I've played about six times. |

The trueachievements one does say it won't cover stuff before you registered with them, I believe.

Yeah, the quality of games played this year were definitely better on the PS5 than the Series X looking at the year in reviews. Hopefully, that flips next year.

I didn’t include Switch because I am usually the only one here who plays predominantly on that console. Nothing has come close to that machine since I bought it. But if I had a PS5 and an Xbox, one of them would definitely be completely neglected. There’s only so many games difference between them. |

486 hours played, 69 games.
#1 Forza Horizon 5, 116 hours. Seems right, I go back on an almost weekly basis because they keep adding content.
#2 Mafia III, 79 hours. A game I wanted to play for ages and finally came around to this year. Killer soundtrack by the way.
#3 Riders Republic, 44 hours. I've admitted before I'm a sucker for the Ubisoft games formula.
It seems none of the big names of 2023 has kept my interest for a long time.
I dread to see the stats for the PS5 and the Switch since they are mostly under the tv just for the sake of it.

I’ve played 200 hours more videogames than Tom Orry, a person whose job is playing videogames Correction: I’ve played 200 hours more than Tom Orry ’s son. He said on the VG247 podcast that this stat was all his son playing Minecraft and he was just posting it for clout. Not sure if that makes my comparative playtime better or worse |

If you search a game on TA and select the price tab it will give you the current and cheapest prices for each region.

Managed to fix my Elite Series 2 pad this week. Really chuffed. Been putting off trying for ages convinced I would break it. So anybody with an unresponsive/inconsistent RB button…
Look up on YT how to pop the front off. I used a short stiff knife, like the type you’d peel veg with. Be careful, I did slip once and nearly lost a thumb. You can get special plastic tools if you want to be sensible.
There’s a couple of blobs of quite effective adhesive you have to power through. Start from the top corners near the triggers.
Once off, I sprayed some stuff based on Isopropyl alcohol around the switch that RB operates. Click the button to see where - it’s is slightly underneath next to the Home button and has like a U-shaped pice of plastic around it.
After spraying I clicked the button quickly for a few minutes.
After popping it back together I couldn’t believe the difference. I did have a squeaky bum moment when the button then kept acting like it was constantly being pressed - but I then put the thing away and the day after it was perfect.
Way out of warranty before anybody asks.

All they've got planned from the leaked roadmap is a digital series X with improved WiFi and 2TB storage at the end of 2024. I wouldn't let that put me off anyway.
