Same. Their quizzes and emphases on AI chat is annoying. They remove rewards and I might be out of the microsoft ecosystem altogether.

Speaking, I tried to do that one, but I can’t seem to make him climb up. I tried to get past the train ramp, but the guy just wouldn’t jump high enough for grab onto a higher piece and pull himself up. Gave up at 10 meters. Oh well. Didn’t enjoy it enough to force myself to get 250. I’ll get that match tomorrow by searching alone.

It was one thing having apps hang and the occasional game crash, but with that, I think I'm definitely having GPU issues on my Xbox. It was weird when it glitched out and my and the CPU's bodies just went transparent.

Considering trading in the Xbox and just getting the few games I bought on there recently on the PS5. Luckily with GamePass, where normally it'd be terrible timing right as Starfield launches, at least I can just download it on PC and continue my game there.

I've never really had issues with Xbox hardware, not even the 360 and I got mine in late 2005, but my luck has run out, I think.

The GameStop trade-in site says it’s worth $350, which isn’t too bad.

Wow. Can the FTC be sued for this? Surely this will change both Nintendo and Sony’s plans next year. Do Nintendo want to release early to get ahead of a console refresh? Do Sony want to bring plans forward? That’s some pretty fundamental plans in there.

And Elder Scrolls in 2026 judging by Starfield's 2 year delay

I'll bet that Oblivion remaster will be worse than the mod project that's attempting to do the same thing in the Skyrim engine, and they're remastering the wrong Fallout from that generation.

Looking at the list (which includes PCs and cloud streaming devices) I'd say that 'handheld' just refers to the dozens of current windows based gaming handhelds you can play Xbox games on: ASUS Rog Ally, AyaNeo 2S, AOKZOE A1, GPD WIN 4 to name but a handful.

As I can't see them continuing to manufacture the old Series X alongside this newer model with updated (almost certainly cheaper) components, I'll be interested to see what they're going to offer the customer base who still want access to physical media. Will they go the Sony route with the (rumoured) updated PS5 and offer a drive as an optional accessory that you have to attach to the system?

Maybe their sales data is telling them it's time to abandon discs entirely?

I do have a pretty sizeable retro collection and probably still buy around 60% of my console purchases physically, but it's getting increasingly pointless as the likes of Sony are shifting towards the 'digital code in a box' bullshit that utterly negates the point of physical media at all. Then half the time the data on the disc is literally just an installer that begins downloading the rest of the game from the online store.

I do think the days of physical media are almost up. You only have to look at how PC gaming shifted. I still own loads of old big box PC games, but it's just easier to find them on GoG where they've been run through DOSBox to work on modern systems, rather than dig out an external drive (then fuck about for a fortnight trying to get it to run) or dust off an old PC running Win'98. Even most of my older systems run games from SD Card solutions - the games themselves just sit on the shelf looking pretty for the most part. Occasionally I'll load an actual tape on the C64 or Speccy, but it's more for the novelty value than anything else these days.
