malek86 There is a cheaper "auto redeem" option (5500ish vs 5800ish) for the gift cards alongside the standard purchase options.
Yes this is why I would prefer to use the "auto redeem" option, but NOT if you only get 1 card max a month. I would want as many cards on the next redeem date as my points would allow.
Does anyone know if it auto-redeem then redeems ALL your points at once?

I looked into it a while back and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it only auto-redeems one £5 voucher a month.

That is what I feared. If this is the case, I will save up all the points and then just redeem them on demand how ever many I need at the time.
Cheers
[EDIT] Its quite crazy how quickly you can gain points. I have had my series X for just 6 weeks and have 9,500 points. Works out at about £5 a month, or a free full priced game EVERY year. Nice!

I read somewhere that switching a series X controller between a Bluetooth connection to PC and the Xbox had been made simple, but I can't for the life of me make it work. Apparently I double tab the sync button to revert to Xbox but the controller just blinks trying to secure a Bluetooth connection which will never happen as the PC is switched off. What am I getting wrong? Not sure if the Xbox has to be on or not ... support.xbox.com/en-GB/help/hardware-network/controller/connect-xbox-wireless-controller-to-pc

I see a lot of people here stacking their points up for a big purchase. Fair enough. I've even seen people buy their Series X with points on reddit. Smart, smart choice.
I like to just save a few and buy either smaller games I wouldn't have played otherwise, or games I wanted but missed, that are currently on sale. Now, that's not a wise move for someone looking to clear their backlog, mind, but it helps discover something I might've overlooked otherwise.

Are these the daily quest points? I've had my Series X for about 4 weeks, and I've not been specifically chasing quests or anything, but I've only got 350pts so far. How on earth did you get 9,500 in 6 weeks?!

darkling You can earn points through the rewards app as well as game pass. The app rewards purchases of certain games etc. I got 6000 points for buying Far Cry 6 and 4000 for buying Diablo 2, as well as smaller amounts for unlocking achievements in both games. There are larger quests available through Game Pass, such as the 1000 points for completing 45 dailes and 12 weeklies in a month etc. Use Bing for your web searches and you'll earn points for that as well as long as you're logged in to your MS account. I cashed in all my points to get £25 towards Far Cry 6 and have earned a further 17000 points since it released.

Searching through bing racks up points quickly too. But yeah, you get the most from purchasing whatever the weekly release MS is promoting.

How on earth did you get 9,500 in 6 weeks?! I got about 150 today during my lunch break by spending about 2 mins clicking on the links in the app. That’s before I get extra tonight by unlocking achievements and playing game pass games. Check the app every day and you will be surprised what ways you can earn points. Microsoft even randomly throws 100 at you for doing nothing at all. I haven’t earnt any points yet by buying games, these were earnt just by doing quests etc. I do draw the line when they become a chore as I value my time, but all these points were earned fairly easily.

It specifically says if you are connected via Bluetooth, double press pair... But I was not connected, which may be a bit of on oversight in their design, not sure. Enough to make me not bother again next time anyway.

The Rewards points do add up quickly, especially if you go on streaks in the Rewards app and keep them going. And get the dailies/weeklies/monthlies in Game Pass Rewards
I cleared my account out to buy Resi Village, but since then I noticed you can exchange them for John Lewis vouchers. I've got a John Lewis credit card and get JL vouchers from purchases so I'm going to save up with both card and Xbox and get myself something nice like a pair of sunglasses or a watch.

Rewards points are great, my ultimate is expiring in December and can use the points to get GP for console. Not bothered about gold or ultimate

But without ultimate how will you be able stream games to your phone at 5fps.

I keep onto Ultimate just in case there's a good GwG. There never is... Or at least, one that I want.

Hadn't even occurred to me to get Game Pass without getting Ultimate -doesn't that mean you have to pay full price for it rather than using the convert-Gold trick?

Since I load of rewards points, I can dip into gamepass when there is games I want to play unless there is some cheap XBG codes and do the £1 ultimate or even buy a month of ultimate

Why would you "only" get Game Pass when you can get a whole year of Ultimate for £40 via the conversion method?

It's official. LG C9 won't support Dolby Vision AND 120 Hz. Mildly disappointed as I own a B9 but not the end of the world IMO,
I was finally able to get Dolby Vision to work on my B9 but really wasn't that impressed.

Can anybody relate their experience of returning their X|S to Microsoft? I think my S is faulty: frequent crashes back to dash across multiple titles; graphical corruption across multiple titles. I did wonder whether it was overheating, but even outside of the TV console I get the same.

I did wonder whether it was overheating, but even outside of the TV console I get the same. I can't speak for the current console, but I had a problem with my Xbox One X. And the whole process, minus the (more than acceptable length of) absence, was supremely painfree. Since you are still under warranty, call them up, explain what's wrong. They'll send you a coffin, with a prepaid label. Take it to a pickup point and it gets sent to their depot. Tracking is standard, obviously. And they send you a replacement. Or fix it, I guess. I don't know how easy it will be in a post-Brexit world, because if things have not changed, you'll be sending it to Germany somewhere. But in theory, it is the very opposite of a ball ache.

Bought the 1TB expansion card from Amazon Spain for 180 euro. Thank you Hagglezon.
It's actually transformed how I use the Xbox in that I can dip in and out of my favorites like Gears, Destiny, Halo etc and still having room for all the Game Pass offerings that take my fancy.
Very obvious observation perhaps but it's allowed me to fully take advantage of GPU and stop being fussy over what I download.
Highly recommended.

I managed to get an X from Amazon Italy, should be arriving this week. What's the best game around right now to show off what it can do? I know there's not much specifically designed for it, but there must be something to give me a bit of wow.

This might not be helpful, but for me it was Fortnite. The Series X version looks significantly better than the XBone version. Reflections, draw distance, detail on the edge of the storm.
Of course, that relied on me already knowing Fortnite quite well, so maybe the answer is any game you already play that has the Series S/X icon on the dashboard
