Going to sell my PRS. Nice guitar, I just haven't gelled with it. There is something undeniably wanky about them well. I hope you're reading this PES.
Probably going to go for some kind of Strat or a Les Paul Studio, or maybe a Jazzmaster. The Studio would probably be the most versatile.
Also going to try and buy a bass this year, and some mics and a mixer for recording. I've got a MIDI controller that I've barely touched, so I need one using that too.

Yeah I've had a good one too. Did some mad new stuff at band and practiced some of the bass today. Some of it is half decent. I'm going to get stoned now and go into Alice in wonderland with the synths

It is. I've stopped now and started this Psychology course I signed up for, but mainly because my fretting hand hurts. Turns out my calluses aren't as good as they once were!

Went to see a mate who’s week and took some guitars up for a twat about, he’s been working on a relic 50s strat recently, long story short I’ve ended up buying a 61 strat body and some nitro paint for another project

Ok, so I've now had to buy another pissing device, this time, one that actually has analogue to ADAT/Digital converters. Hopefully that will work and I can send the other item back.
I will get this bloody sorted one way or the other.
You do all definitely need to buy a theremin though.

The best thing about it is that you don't just have the default theremin sound on the moog one. It has 30-something presets. One of which is a really full on fat bass sound. That's amazing to do!
Plus because its digital, you can usb it to some software and create/download other presets. Fantastic fun for 300 quid

That does sound pretty cool.
On a different note my jazzmaster guitar is starting to sound awfully scratchy. I know they are sensitive beasts anyway but I think there is something up with the grounding again. Don't know though.

Was supposed to be here by today, but not dispatched yet. No updates at all.
At least PMT have now changed the website to say that it's not actually in stock.
Even so, I think I'll be buying elsewhere in future.

Talking of sites to order music gear, juno.co.uk is really good. They don't always have a massive stockpile, but if they do have what you want, they will deliver the next day, it's always cheaper than everywhere else, and they use parcel force 24 hour, who generally don't fuck about. Had 3 perfect deliveries on the bounce now.

Oh I'm sure it has but I can't find it anywhere which makes me think it's not been re-done as recently as Dummy. I can find Dummy no problem but every shop I look at doesn't have the second one.
I should have said re-appear on vinyl, not appear!

Well, discogs has that handy thing where it shows you all the versions ever released - www.discogs.com/master/5603-Portishead-PortisheadMost of them were originally pressed in 1997 but if you scroll down, there's a remaster done in 2017. They keep their value though, so I'd estimate around 20-30 quid, but it's all on that page Edit - you're right though - it's quite hard to get by the looks of it. I just viewed a few of those versions and they're a) expensive, and b) only available as an import by the looks of it. |
