My Mam says you should drop a note through their door asking if they are okay as you are getting concerned about their wellbeing. If you do not hear from them you will ring the emergency services. Actually, this neighbour is going through a messy divorce, and is between accommodation, but often has their kids over. Even with the kids and dog home, she has just stopped answering the door. I even had the kids trying to climb over the fence into our garden tonight, but they will not answer the door at all. 4 attempts this week and she was home and making a noise every time. It’s only a £3 bath bomb, but why accept the parcel if you’ve no intention of releasing it? If this was something more valuable I’d be trying and claim the item as undelivered because I literally can’t retrieve it.

She’s got no recently divorced mum energy.

Oh she did. We could hear her drunken sex groans through the walls at 3am, 5am and 7am on Saturdays nights for most of the summer. That’s all quietened down now.

New chavvy opposite neighbours woke me up at 3.30 am last night, I hadn’t slept and had finally managed to drop off at around 3.00.
This morning (Xmas morning!) they knock on for a small parcel we took in and they have been in and out all week. Came about 9.10 am.
For some reason this last bit really ground my gears. Don’t come knocking on on Xmas day unless you’ve got a f*cking gift or a card. AITA/AIBU?

Our next door neighbours brown bin flew across their drive and into ours and smashed into our front door along the way a few days ago.
It's taken a massive chunk of the decorative trim out the door, so looking forward to hearing what they say when I ask them to pay for the repairs.

Mine’s really nice, which is just as well because over the last week an increasing amount of my fence keeps ending up in her garden. This storm’s now been going on for well over a week and has no signs of stopping. And I can’t get it looked at till the new year. Fortunately she seems entirely indifferent to it.

Guess whose neighbours bought their teen a drum kit for Xmas.
We live in a semi, and the drum kit is either in a joining room and/or just unbelievably loud. He’s also fucking crap at it. That’s bang out of order (ha), right?

We haven't got a drummer next door but a few doors down, thankfully. It's taken about 3+ years before we thought he was any good at it though.

That’s bang out of order (ha), right? Are you our neighbours? To be fair we got ours an electric drum kit but they're still loud as fuck within the house but he's banished to the freezing/boiling conservatory. Ours is doing the Rocksteady Music thing that's run in schools, if he can't be arsed with it it'll go straight back onto Marketplace.
The last house had a few 'drummers' in the vicinity, they generally seem terrible and play the exact seem thing over and over and over and over and over again ....

Absolutely no need for anything but practice pads in a residential area.
Drums are *unbelievably* loud and belong in a dedicated practice space. There’s a reason pub bands usually don’t have to mic the kit.

It's just very cunty having a drum kit unless you live in a large detached house. But people are mostly cunty. I've had so many shit neighbours over the years who just seem completely oblivious to others. Even some of my friends are like it when I turn up to their parties in a flat. They put on music way louder and later than I would if I was hosting a party in a flat.

You should tell your friends to turn it down

And as a bonus, you won't have to go to any more parties

We had a drum kit for our eldest and he did it for 6 years and got pretty good. It was very loud though so we limited it to half an hour every other day between 4-6pm.
A couple of years in we bought him an electric drum kit with some decent headphones and that was so much better, wish we had invested in them from the start.

If my son ever wanted to play drums, I’d totally use it as an excuse to soundproof the garage and use it as cover to stealth launch my podcast - “Monday Night Rawshark”

Electronic kit on a ground floor room that doesn’t attach a neighbouring wall. If that’s not doable then you should really be hiring a dedicated space.
Soundproofing that will work for drums costs many thousands and will end up halving the size of the room, great if you can do it but not practical for most.

Nah, bit of extra carpet under the kit will sort it right out.

I know nothing is ever real on the internet but this has *got* to be bullshit. An insane argument about unsecured wifi in the space year 2023, conveniently done over a ring camera and at least one of the participants has a terrible 'I'm acting' tone of voice.
'My broadband told me to add a password' GTFO.
