Feels more reasonable than the legacy thread title given... well... everything over the last few years.
No actual complaints about mine at the moment.

I agreed to look after my neighbour's dog for three weeks
They neglected to mention that she isn't spayed and has just started her season.
I have had four incidents where someone's male dog smashes their claws and balls into my thigh or forearm for some time as I try to protect said dog. I will have scars
On top of that, said dog in my care is humping soft toys. We've called the main one Wiggum. Poooooooor Wiggum.

My kitchen window looks out onto the back lane which runs between our houses and gardens. Most people park their cars on the garden side. I’ve twice spotted my neighbour pissing behind his car instead of crossing the lane and going back into his house.
He definitely saw me notice one of them.

Generally get on very well with my next door neighbours. They’re similar age and like us have two young kids, and we’re on friendly terms without actually being “friends”. It’s pretty much ideal.
However, they have a very irritating habit of not answering their door during the day because they’re working (as are we) and letting us take all their deliveries for them (they never come and get the parcels themselves, they always wait for us to bring them round). Furthermore they tend to leave it quite a long time before picking them up. At the moment with it being Christmas soon we now have a literal stack of parcels for them, the oldest of which has been there nearly three weeks.
That’s not ok right? I don’t really plan to do anything about it. I did consider starting to refuse to take their deliveries but it’ll escalate and I know from experience that peaceful terms with neighbours is always best. Just venting really and looking for validation in my irritation.

Three weeks is an absolute pisstake, unless they were on holiday for three weeks?! Have you got them on WhatsApp? Just leave them on the porch and send them a photo.

We had this when we first started working from home. Our neighbour is a teacher and started getting more and more stuff delivered and never picked them up when she got home. Eventually I stopped taking them over as a mental compromise over not outright refusing to take them and just let them build up in the porch. Some of them were there for ages but I'd rather that than admit defeat in a battle she didnt know we are fighting.

If you can handle it, leave them to build up until they finally come round for them. Might shame them in to thinking it's not ok to use you as a PO Box

We had similar. I just started taking them straight round and leaving them on their doorstep without pressing the doorbell. They eventually got the hint and started taking their own parcels in off the delivery man.

Leave a card through their letterbox, saying you tried to deliver their items but they weren't in, so you have delivered them to a depot 20miles away that is only open from 5-6am

Just pop a note through their door and say that that due to an increase in your home security protocol, any package left for more than 24 hours will be removed and destroyed.

Or better still, just leave them on the porch of some other random house and send them a photo adding the message your parcels have been delivered. Like a proper courier would.

Thanks for the validation. I’m doing the not taking them over thing. I’m hoping some of them are things they need to return but have missed the deadline. Hopefully that’ll get the message across.

When in a wheelie bin, right? We fell out with one neighbour, who was a dick and fell out with pretty much the whole street over time, and they were like that too. We just left their parcels in the vestibule for weeks until they finally deigned to turn up for it. I still wasn't *quite* petty enough to not accept their shit if we were in, because in general, I try to be an acceptable human being. YMMV, obvs.

Just open them up and enjoy what's in them. Casually walking next to their front window in your new Stone Island jacket.

I’ve learnt from bitter experience that good relations with neighbours should be maintained literally no matter what. Nothing is worse the aggro and stress from neighbour feuds.

This is why I decided to keep taking them in but passive aggressively refuse to do the last mile. Civil but not a doormat.

You're totally validated kal, this happens to us all the time. We're always taking in the neighbours parcels, yet whenever we need parcels taking in no fucker ever does it. Winds me up.

If it's as frequent as you say I'd just refuse. You'll then enjoy her scampering out in a panic to try and intercept the package as it's loaded back into the van and

Folk saying “… but I’d still accept their parcels” are making me think I might be a cunt.
I refused a delivery to my neighbour after the husband bitched my wife out at the front door at 8am because my kids (8 & 5) were making noise. Fuck them and their parcels imo. They’ve been cunts since we moved in.
