If it's as frequent as you say I'd just refuse. You'll then enjoy her scampering out in a panic to try and intercept the package as it's loaded back into the van and How do you keep a Fontgeeker in suspense? I’ll tell you later

They would never know though if you didn't receive their packages. I’m pretty sure she watches out the window to see where they end up. I’ve seen her. And yet she still hasn't picked them up after 3 weeks? I think you're bending over a bit too much here, just make some comment about there being soooo many packages or something.

Like I say if it’s something that needs returning she’s probably fucked it now. Also my cats are absolutely wreaking the packaging so that’s quite a nice deterrent that clearly isn’t something I’ve done passive aggressively.

She's got the hots for kal. No other explanation. FHUTA? Sorry don’t know if this was supposed to die at the old place. We have this with the neighbours too. They work nights and different shifts but the 20 odd year old daughter IS always in. Never let anyone clock that you work from home if that’s the case. On the other hand, after several very unreasonable interactions, we had built ourselves up to a frothing seizure of apoplectic rage over the Xmas lights they’d put up. They’re about 10K lumen and flashed at strobe light speed, blue and amber. Looked like the police were outside constantly. Lined down the shared fence and down the front of the terrace and it was just lighting up our whole window, TV and bedroom. They actually had a complaint from another neighbour and agreed to turn the flashing off and were very apologetic. It was most unexpected. It’s now absolutely tolerable. It’s easy sometimes to be that conflict averse because you fear people will automatically fly off the handle, but they often don’t.

Our neighbours actually put us down as the alternate delivery address recently. Delivery guy said the notes say to deliver here.
It wound me up at the time, but she does work funny hours in fairness and was probably trying to get some sleep so I can understand. At least fucking ask first, though.
They took bloody ages to collect it too. Nearly caved in and dropped it round.

User Kal passed away June 2024, after being crushed by one of the many packages in his house. It took firemen ten hours to clear enough of the boxes to retrieve his body.

Ha! If she's watching kal take them in, AND not collecting them, then it's time to refuse.

Only the first parcel is legit. She's posting on mumsnet about her neighbour who took her parcel but still hasn't brought it round yet and the advice has been to keep buying the cheapest possible item from Amazon and have them sent there until he brings them over. When she looks out of the window to watch him take another delivery, she's posting 'He's definitely getting them!!!' and they're all talking about how rude and selfish he is

They would never know though if you didn't receive their packages. I’m pretty sure she watches out the window to see where they end up. I’ve seen her. If she’s refusing to accept her own parcels I don’t think she can be too upset if other people refuse them too.

You could try telling the delivery person she's in and then point at the window, mouth agape, Body Snatchers style, and see how she reacts then. Of course that's a bit unfair on the delivery drivers who probably gets paid shit, and you are genuinely trying to be helpful which is obviously commendable, but sounds like Karen is really taking the piss.

I mean if she's in and not accepting parcels she's already taking liberties.

I currently have the opposite issue. I am trying to collect a parcel from my neighbour, who is very obviously home, but as they work from home, they don’t answer their door. It’s a cheap bath bomb that was meant to be a stocking filler, so I’m already giving up on it and ordering to a post office next time.

They can't get to the door because they're currently luxuriating in their bath.

I just love the way pretty much every problem is solved with a roundhouse kick. What a way to live your life. Just send the parcels to their address this way.

My Mam says you should drop a note through their door asking if they are okay as you are getting concerned about their wellbeing. If you do not hear from them you will ring the emergency services.

My neighbours are lovely and I need to keep them inside for catsitting support.
Irritatingly though yesterday one of them dropped a Christmas card through the door meaning I have to go out and buy one to reciprocate.

The onus should be on the recipient to come and pick their stuff up. On the occasion when I've had to have stuff delivered to neighbours I always go round as soon as I can. Assume it's a reasonable hour.
That said I have had packages where I've just had a cryptic "left at neighbours" message, but no actual number. Had to take a punt and just knock on their doors, fortunately it was the at the first neighbour I tried.
