Again, the article, which is indeed incredibly clickbaity, even says it depends on what clockspeed the new Switch will operate at. Increased performance is a given but 3 times the performance of the Steam Deck? In the same form factor? Yeah, that's clickbaity and no way could it be overall 3x more powerful. |

I have to say the one thing I like about the Switch is grabbing a new release for £35 from Curry's. End up buying a lot more physical releases than other platforms.

The bowling is 8 player online I think and you can all bowl at the same time so no waiting, local is 4 but I'm not sure if it's simultaneous. I think he said volleyball was his favourite of the games.

Don't think so, they are just like a pair of leg holsters with the correct sized pouch for the joycon.
Guessing the game isn't really playable on the switch lite either.

It has been five years already, let's say six by the time it notionally launches. I'd hope for more than a DSi style upgrade to a home console. Absolutely it has the thermal limits, but also tech has come along somewhat since 2017. Liquid metal, more advanced dissipation assemblies, higher end components on a smaller node with equal or lesser power draw, etc. etc. Fingers crossed.  I don't need Series X levels of grunt, but it'd be great to get a tangible upgrade alongside sorting out some quality of life issues like loading time, storage, RAM, battery life, etc. etc. Unlike the PS5 (which is a little big and ugly for me) I'd probably buy the Switch Next on day one. I really did get a lot of joy from the original unit before the software I like dried up in year three. I'm no expert, but I think you would have to shave off a year or two from that because of covid, and all the issues with chip shortages etc. New 3DS came out four years after the 3DS, so a modest upgrade six years after the original Switch, in this current climate, would seem about right, even if the tech has come a long way since then (and Nintendo are very conservative when it comes to the latest tech anyway). I just can't see a proper successor coming out this time next year, as much as I would love to be proved wrong. |
