I just finished it, because I waited until all episodes dropped. I think it's much more compelling if you can binge it, whether over a day, or several days (each section of a season anyway). Waiting a week, then three months between episodes just takes you out of the flow of the story too much. I lost interest after Rick went, but being able to binge the last few seasons I think they ended quite strongly, but as others have said, setting up numerous spin-offs took the tension off a bit. Deffo still worth it though.

Three questions: Is it all on Disney+ now? How essential are the spin-offs to understanding the main show? If I pick up from where I was, Alexandria although I might have to go back to Terminus to refresh my memory, whats the going going to be like? Yes. Not at all. You'll be fine. 😅

Just watched the first episode of Dead City.
I will echo what Negan said about the roaches scene. "Nope."

I started watching the episode after we left the main show (the obvious jumping off point in S9)
Was the acting always this shit and wooden? It's pretty damn jarring coming to it after watching Fargo and Succession.

So I watched Dead City, ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would.
And now I've watched the first episode of the Daryl show, and... look, I love that the show is giving itself some freshness by going to other parts of the world. But all the same, "Daryl floated on a boat to France, he's in France now, that's your show" feels pretty weird as a premise.
But I'll keep watching because I love Daryl.

They should do a spin off where the sheriff guy goes in a boat and ends up in England and ends up teaching in a shitty school

Wait he gets all the way to France in that little boat from the trailer?

Wait he gets all the way to France in that little boat from the trailer? He got put on a bigger boat as a slave or something, then escaped on a little boat. So he was probably already closeish to France. But still, "Daryl in France" is fairly silly.

I know there are other methods, but have any of these spin offs actually got official UK streaming at all?
Not had time to watch much so avoided alternative methods but was curious.

Would be nice if the other spin offs got a UK release before they started showing off more.

Oh yes I'll be watching this! I've invested so many hours into the main series and the spin offs I can't stop now.
Let's not talk about Fear TWD though, that was utter shit.

Have any of the recent spin offs released in the UK yet?

I watched the first episode of The World Beyond, and promptly forgot it existed. Watched the first two of Dead City, same thing. Never even started Fear.

Have any of the recent spin offs released in the UK yet? Not that O am aware of unless they are BT exclusives like Fear starts as before going late to Amazon.

Seems to have been fairly well received. I'm half interested, as I jumped ship maybe around the time of the tiger..

Likewise. My interest waned as the original cast mostly left as was generally replaced with worse characters. I kept going till the very last season. Watched the first episode of that recently and then saw there was 20 something episodes to get through and I just couldn't be bothered.
Will certainly give this new one a go. Fewer, better characters and a narrative that's more than our gang vs their gang would be a start.

Just watched the first episode. Frustrating. Good to have Rick Grimes back. Most of the setup was pretty good with some promising new characters and a setting that was genuinely different and better for it. Then it took a turn that appears to have erased much of that promise and hints strongly that instead it'll just be more of the same tired formula after all.

Given the response to Covid, this doesn't really seem realistic:
