I struggled with him peak 2010/2011 with turkey crash, taking out button at Spa, Webber, multi 21, finger pointing poles etc but when he reads this(!) I now apologise and see the error of my ways. One presumes once out the clutches of Karen Horner he became him true self.

I've done a complete u turn on Vettel same as I have with Alonso. Couldn't stand them years ago but really warmed to them in more recent years.

I've u-turned on those two as well but I don't think they are entirely different people now. Neither of them have particularly good records in the 'on-track' ethics department and went a bit mental in the heat of Championship bids. I would bet my house on more of the same if either had a winning car with a competitive team mate this year.
However, both bring a lot to the sport and I'm glad they are still around. Sebastian in particular does so much good.

No red flags so far. Who's going in the wall in Q3 then? I'm going with Tsunoda.

Interesting qualifying, seems almost impossible to get a "perfect lap" compromises everywhere.
Merc seemed to have messed up the set up again having lost the practice pace. Nice to see sainz get a decent result, was starting to get difficult watching him struggle. He really needs to stop pushing against leclrec , just do his thing and the results may come his way. Especially if more incidents like imola come along.
Looking forward to the race

Hes coming across well and making the fia look very silly. Rumours are that merc and ferrari are against it but he's walking around the paddock making team principles sign a letter saying they want andretti in haha.
F1/liberty will be desperate for them to enter. The fans want more cars so let's hope a deal can be reached. As exciting as audi/Porsch joining is, they will he taking over/joining existing teams.
With the American Market going through the roof for f1 at the moment be bonkers to not have an all American team complete with american drivers.

Also really suprised to not see haas go full beans on a USA livery. Would have been a bit of a middle finger to the mazapins aswell.

As a fan I want a 24 car grid, maybe 26, although the latter would surely need the qualifying format to be tweaked to avoid even more traffic issues in Q1.
20 seats just aren't enough for the talent pool of elite drivers.
I also actually agree with Horner. New teams should take Liberty's cut seeing as they are the promoter and have the task of ensuring the new teams add value. The decision shouldn't even involve the existing teams frankly. The terms of their deal should be set and unaffected.
In the case of Andretti it's pretty clear how a big name US team with at least one credible US driver could bring enough extra money into F1 via TV deals to offset their impact on prize money. Seems a no brainer.
Audi maybe a slightly harder case but even there, another engine supplier helps the sport diversify and survive unpleasant surprises. Wouldn't be totally shocked to see Merc pull out in next five to ten years as an example. Look what happened to DTM, the formula basically had to end and become generic GT3.

Love to see Mario and Emerson on the grid walk, sod the other randoms and chancers. Will be pretty amazing if 82 year old Andretti actually does get some laps in the McLaren!

Sainz was far too nice at the start there. Not sure why he didn’t close the door properly.

Another pass for 1st place on track. Been more than in a lot of full seasons combined already.

It's looking like the Red Bulls have a comfortable margin again. I guess Ferrari has to split Leclerc and Sainz to at least make RB have decisions to make. Key that Carlos keeps Perez behind for that to work.
Surely we'll have at least one SC this race so might not be a totally done deal.

Red Bull is such a glass cannon. It's McLaren Vs Renault 2005 all over again this year.

Bottas has really good pace. Alfa legit third fastest pace at this track. No wonder Zhou was so gutted.

Norris's car's conveniently stopped right by a service road entrance. This should be quick.

Mercedes really don't know how to do anything other than run 15 seconds out in front.
