Cool, brings back memories, only reason he didn't block him the 2nd time, there was a car in between them. Balls of steel Schuey has the same arsehole DNA as Max for sure. It is a common thing in iRacing, people driving in their mirrors, they learn from the "best" ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

The F1 admins have blocked the video already. It's only blocked for embedding. You can watch it on Youtube

I was annoyed when I watched Schumacher's defence 25 years ago and I still am. Would rather risk a monumental accident than risk ceding the position. See also vs Rubens in Hungary.

Ricardo Zonta was a middle lane hogger before it became cool.

It's disappointing to hear some retrospective justifications about last weekend already. The whole problem is that Max has been allowed to normalise bad race craft through regulatory inaction. Lando now saying Max doesn't need to apologise?
I'm not sure I believe the drivers who say they accept the way Max races. Maybe they think they have to not seem 'weak'?
How is it tenable to just have a bloke that everyone knows will probably drive you off the road, or brake test you and the sport goes 'ah well, at least you know what to expect'. I absolutely do not want more fighting fire with fire. It's lowest common denominator stuff. Feels like good fair racecraft is just being forgotten. We need to praise and rate drivers who leave room more highly.

Pressure from somewhere to end it? Sponsors?

I think it's probably they are more reflective now it's no longer in the heat of the moment. I thought there were equally egregious examples of on-the-limit racing in the very same race tbh. But it's for the lead and emotions are high from drivers and fans alike.
I'll take some more wheel rubbing and another Merc mop up session this weekend. I'm high on the Lewis/George driver pairing at the minute. Keeping out of the drama and steadily improving.

Max and Lando are mates, that's a part of it. Also George and Lando are mates so maybe that's why George isn't being tougher when asked as probably doesn't want to get too involved if Lando's trying to calm it down.
Then Danny Ricc has piped up and essentially said that you know in advance Max isn't going to give you room but can still 'trust' him. That one's easier to understand seeing as his career hangs on Max allowing Danny to be his teammate again but still totally dodges the fundamental problem.
We're being gaslit. We saw what we saw. The evidence and precedents are what they are.
I've ever seen some fans and supposed experts argue this week that a) Max said he didn't move when braking and ultimately only he would know b) even if he did it's now allowed because the FIA removed the specific rule that said you can't.
Well a) unless the Red Bull bends time and breaks physics he was braking whilst changing line b) the rule was removed because it is covered by unsportsmanlike conduct so the stewards could act at their discretion, not because the FIA are now laissez-faire about the braking zone.

I watched the Sky coverage of the final incident back again, it's painfully obvious he takes an initial tight line, then moves back out wider to squeeze him off the track, never mind all the stuff beforehand, no excusing it, no idea how he continues to get away with it.
Also going off the track and coming back on in the lead the previous lap, that seems to be forgotten.
I was grudgingly giving him credit recently for his undoubted talent, that's evaporated, he simply reverts to who he is at his core when challenged.
F1 continues to spoil him and by association its product.

Or the move to push lando onto the grass after the corner, when he knew he had damage. That should be getting a lot more coverage.

It's nice to see Bearman have his drive confirmed. Hopefully there will be somewhere for him to move up to if he properly makes the grade. Could be a potential Hamilton replacement at Ferrari down the road when he decides to retire.

We’re just back in 2021, where anything goes because all anyone in the sport seems to care about is folk talking about it. Shit race craft = more crashes = more talking points = more interest and sporting integrity has gone out of the window. It’s sad and short sighted.
