Kinda miss him at McLaren, but Piastri is looking rather good there at the moment.

He will want a "top" drive and he isn't going to get it by the looks of it. Rumours are he's pissed off audi so unless he goes alpine/Williams which I doubt he would

Might he not fill Hamilton's seat at Mercedes?

Might he not fill Hamilton's seat at Mercedes? Antonelli heavily rumoured to be getting that. Maybe if he goes williams first, I'm not sure merc would like the optics of losing the number 1 driver and replacing him with the guy he's replacing. The rumours from monaco is Ocon and bearman to haas Kmag to retire Antonelli to williams to replace Sgt for the rest of the season from monza. Sainz to williams Yuki to audi Anotnelli to merc for 25 joesaward.wordpress.com/2024/05/29/green-notebook-from-saint-doulchard/

Not that there seems to be many if any other Moto GP fans here but it’s been a huge couple of days in the rider market. Martin going to Aprilia and Marquez to factory Ducati. Marquez really did force that by ruling out going to Pramac

I usually retreat to MotoGP after an F1 snooze fest, reminds me what proper racing is like.

Kinda makes sense to give him a crack as Sargent is poor

Perez with a 2 year extension Did not think this would happen! I guess it increases the chances of a constructor battle but I find it ludicrous that they binned Albon but deem Perez being further away satisfactory. I guess the Max/Marko axis denied Sainz.

It's more Christian Horner desperately needing supporters in the team. Pure symbiotic relationship that extension.

It's more Christian Horner desperately needing supporters in the team. Pure symbiotic relationship that extension. Horner had supposedly been pushing for a stronger no 2 hadn't he? If they had Sainz it would strengthen Horner more by making them less reliant on a driver that supposedly failed to support his camp in their civil war. Hence this seems like a concession to keep Max happy. Keep the guy he knows he can beat.

Horner had been pushing for a stronger No.2 before this all kicked off and sides started being taken. He values his power over anything else.
I know we're a Verstappen Bad Forum but it's pretty clear Max is a Marko guy through and through and Horner desperately needs allies in the team at this moment in time who feel like they owe him. It's the same reason Ricciardo will be given a free pass for way longer than should be reasonable in the feeder team. These people are totally reliant on Christian Horner for their continued existence in Formula 1. Sainz has way more value to other teams outside their ecosystem.

Guess we can't know for sure but that theory also makes sense. Either way it's bad for F1 as it means Red Bull (arguably the best team of the modern era) will continue to be a one car team unless something extraordinary happens.

Sergio seems an alright bloke, and I feel a bit bad for enjoying his struggles, but at this point it's hard not to smirk a bit when the camera pans to the Red Bull pit wall. Don't act surprised lads.
Strange with Hamilton, would like to know what happened there. George driving beautifully though.
Also wonder what Max did to earn the wrath of the race director? Why don't interviewers ever ask drivers such basic questions.

Only 280 thousands of a second separating the top 7. That’s got to be one of the closest qualifying sessions for some time. I’m really hoping the McLarens have a good race tomorrow.

Perez 🤦🏻♂️ Absolutely fucking useless. One good race in a Sauber in the rain umpteen years ago and he’s still here. Sure he’s a nice guy but crumbs he’s stealing a living.

I enjoyed people in the RB garage stifling laughs as Perez fucks up yet again. Does he have kompromat on some senior RB/F1 figures or something?

He’s got dick picks of everybody at Red Bull. Mess with him and you get what Horner got.
I hear they’re changing the team name to Red Bull Perez next weekend.

Think Hamilton might have a better chance in these conditions. Especially if he's in a position that can take some strategic risks. Perhaps worth a punt for the win.

Mega lap from Lando taking almost 2s out of Max and George. He's bloody good at these half/half conditions.

Going to be interesting to see if anyone chances going off the dry line for an overtake, Lando is catching up really well.
