Is there a case for getting rid of the chicane after the tunnel, which would give another few 100m’s before the corner, and making the tunnel ‘straight’ the DRS zone? Presuming they could navigate the tunnel with DRS open.
They’d be the cheesiest of cheese overtakes but at this point that seems better than nothing.

I think the only thing they could realistically do is move the chicane after the tunnel further down the road although it would change the nature of tabac.

You'd have to make the entire section from the tunnel on a straight somehow to make any sort of tangible difference. DRS would have to open after the curve in the tunnel and the traction the lead car gets out of there would mean you'd need a massive tyre offset to even have a chance anyway.
It just needs to go, it's a relic.

I think the only thing vaguely possible would be to extend the circuit at sea level somewhere. If there's no scope for turning left before the tunnel and going out that way then we're talking man made reclaimed land.
Would be a very expensive project but maybe they'd seriously consider it if it's that or lose the GP. Obviously lots of precedent for the process. Not sure how much freedom the principality has to do what they want in terms of planning laws.

So I think what you're saying there is it needs to get in the sea.

They should add more track, like wipEout, over the marina or just knock it on its head.

It would never work with the current calendar, but it could be a season-opening time trial thing, like a weigh-in before the season proper.

Indy 500 seems to be on YouTube this year. Starting in eight minutes after rain delay.

That's how it used to be and was too dangerous, cars ended up in the water if I remember rightly. Obviously there may be ways to do it safely now

This is like one of those Trump rally’s in race form.
They sure do love their trained killers in uniform.

They really just need to change the rules that a racing pit stop has to take place and two compounds used.

That's how it used to be and was too dangerous, cars ended up in the water if I remember rightly. Obviously there may be ways to do it safely now Are you sure the chicane has moved? It was certainly reprofiled as it was originally an absurdly dangerous kink with only hay bales to stop a car. The issue is there is just no space to significantly change any of the existing turns. It would be risky making the approach to Tabac faster as then it'd be even more dangerous and it has already seen some fairly serious incidents. It's just a wall with people, the pitlane exit and st devote behind it and if someone goes into it, there's a decent chance their car blocks the track on a blind fast exit. There's no way to create run off. Apologies for a link to the Torygraph but the option in blue to extend and add a hairpin is the only one that makes any sense to me. www.telegraph.co.uk/formula-1/2023/05/30/the-monaco-gp-changes-f1-can-make-to-improve-races/

Change the cars, not the track. Auto Mobilista 2 I still play Monaco the most but it's in small cars.

Funnily enough that's exactly what I did yesterday morning.
Did 10 laps in the current F1 cars and then 10 laps in the 1992 F1 cars in VR.
Not sure how accurate the F1 car physics are in AMS2 but a) it made me appreciate how poor the visibility is these days (n.b. kind of cool in VR how you can actually look past/round the halo though, in 2D I just have to turn it off) b) in the current cars the track feels so much more cramped.

They should add more track, like wipEout, over the marina or just knock it on its head. I think changing the formula to allow anti gravity for this one GP is the only way to make it interesting.

They always say the cars produce enough downforce to allow them to run on the ceiling of the Monaco tunnel. They should prove it.

They can do very little to make it better, apart from change the cars. It should be a bonus round where they all switch to classic F1 cars circa 1967.I would pay cash money to watch that.
It is more a sponsorship smooze than anything these days

Even if they change the cars, overtaking will still be nigh impossible and the tyres will always be the limiting factor making everyone trundle around to conserve. It's simply no longer suitable to race there.
